So I finally got around to reading my book on Juche, North Korean socialist ideology which I believe is
summed up as "self-reliance". Amusingly, I've been dealing with conservative-minded local people and
they sound just like the North Koreans: socialism is "Christianity without Christ"; or, declaring humans to
be gods and able to solve all the world's problems if they are allowed to take everything and then give
everything.
"Only you can choose to be successful" is essentially something the conservative people may say and this
is false: God only gives us so much control and it is up to us to stay within the guidelines, especially
prominent for those with disabilities; exceptions prove the rules of Christianity. Suffering in Buddhism is
mainly due to desires so stop desiring, but not desiring becomes a desire. Daoism shows that there must
be moderation between Yin and Yang while following the Way, or Dao. Shinto has purification rituals as
well as devoting oneself to peace and nation, though Bushido can pop in and hijack Shinto as seen by the
Japanese in World War 2.
I'll post pictures from the book and then come back and add commentary which I already wrote.
I've already proved the thing worthless. However, it is just so cute how close they get to truth: the first

"Self-reliance" is what Juche means, and sounds like most of what conservatives in the wild profess.

What is necessary, then, to approach the world starting from man’s interests?
What is important is to estimate value of things and phenomena with man’s interest as criterion.

Social Collective — the “Home” in Which People Live in Collective

This part begins with the instructions of the great leader Comrade Kim Jong Il.
With deep insight into the social phenomena, he gave a scientific elucidation to society in his

In spring 1992, a Japanese journalist in Asahi Shimbun visited a flat in Kwangbok Street and
asked the owner how many square meters it was.
“About 80 square meters.” Doubtful to his answer, he measured it himself and said “It is 110

The Propelling Power of Satellite

On December 12, 2012, the DPRK successfully launched peaceful satellite “Kwangmyongsong
3-2,” surprising the world.
The DPRK launched the first satellite “Kwangmyongsong-1” on August 31, 1998 and
“Kwangmyongsong-2” in April 2009. With the launch of “Kwangmyongsong 3-2,” the application
satellite, the DPRK took the position of full-fledged space development power.

over, will replenish and reward you for bearing your cross in a multitude of ways. Also, your family and

This is actually a good point. We keep letting America send jobs overseas, and then we also (wherever
you are from, you likely know what I will say next occurs there, too) are more focused on plants and other
things and cultures of other countries than one's own. It's nice to have both, though, because sometimes
you can't see something in your locale that you can abroad. Lol. In America, though, everyone is here
from around the world and so it's not that bad to be focused on "other countries" since, well, they
probably are also in our community. :)

open markets and in the “globalization” the developing countries can not compete with the developed
countries, eventually falling down.
The advanced industrial states build tariff and non-tariff barriers against the export items of the
developing countries and put political and economic strings, under the pretext of “exempt of debt” and
“technical aid.” They turn their faces away from the interests of the developing countries, claiming
“liberalism” only in the sectors of making their profit.
The financial “globalization” pushed Southeast Asian countries to destructive economic crisis in
the late 1990s.
Talking of “aid” or “cooperation,” the US tried to dominate them, after trapping them. This is
just like giving disease and then cure.
“Globalization” is neither good prescription nor cure. “Globalization” will bring about only
unemployment and grave destruction in the social fields like finance, trade, culture and public health. It
will increase the gap between the developed and developing countries in the development level and
material wealth, obliterating national traditions and custom.

It's actually been hilarious seeing how they try to mimic Truth yet... Miss the point or... Just are off in

As such, Marxists always had an issue with the proletariat being the "revolutionary force" since they all

Early days and then doing half-ass presence through the rest of the life of that guy. By the time Kim

self-reliant. The build up of part one talks so much about all kinds of things, and then by part two or three
it is saying "well, yes, we have struggles but man is master of destiny and it takes some time to get there".
It started off with hard claims and then washed them away in the hopes that you didn't notice. Gaslighting,

But returning to two paragraphs before, the rewriting of Juche is ultimately to help explain "mental

It pushed the Korean peninsula to the nuclear crisis, causing touch-and-go super tense situation.
Under this condition, it was vital how to defend the destiny of the country and socialism in the
military confrontation with the US.
In this grave period, great leader Comrade Kim Jong Il issued “On Declaring a State of War
Readiness for the Whole Country, All the People and the Entire Army” Order No. 0034 of the Supreme
Commander of the Korean People’s Army on March 8, 1993.

The DPRK-US talks were fierce enough to be called a fireless war between the DPRK and the US
in diplomacy.
In order to defend the fundamental interests of the revolution in the political and diplomatic
confrontation with the imperialists, the DPRK must make independent diplomatic battle on a hard-line
stand without the slightest concession. The independent diplomacy does not come of its own accord.
Victory here is guaranteed by one’s own strong military power.
Thanks to the invincible military power built by the Songun politics, the DPRK could control the
imperialist that depended on pressure and blackmail as the main tricks in the diplomatic battle between
the DPRK and the US, on a hard-line stand, satisfying its demand.
As a result, on October 21, 1994, the DPRK-US Agreed Framework was adopted, reflecting the
former’s just stand for the settlement of the nuclear issue of the Korean peninsula.
In the framework, the DPRK guaranteed the freeze and dismantlement of the graphite-moderated
reactor and its related facilities, the expression of the will to denuclearization and the reentry to the NPT.
In return, the US promised to offer the light-water reactors with the generating capacity of 2
million kw (about USD 4 billion) by 2003, and before that time it will deliver 500 000 tons of heavy oil
annually, lift the trade and investment barriers, establish liaison office, establish the state relations, not
use the nuclear weapons and not threaten the DPRK with the nuclear weapons.
On October 20 a day before the adoption of the framework, Clinton, the then US president
expressed his respect to great leader Comrade Kim Jong Il, calling him the Supreme Leader of the DPRK
and sent him the letter of confirmation. In the letter, he wrote he wished to confirm that he would use the
full powers of his office to facilitate arrangements.
With the adoption of the framework, the US policy to suffocate the DPRK with the nuclear issue
became meaningless, and the US boasting itself of the only super power knelt down in the nuclear
confrontation with the DPRK.

The US, however, did not fulfill its duty in offering the light-water reactors. The framework
stipulated that the contract would be concluded within 6 months from the date of signing the framework.
The US concluded the contract after 14 months and delayed the project of building the
light-water reactor under the preposterous excuses.
Due to its wrong behaviours, the project that would be finished by 2003 was delayed, only
digging the ground for foundation.
According to the article 3 of the framework, the US should give official confirmation that it would
not use the nuclear weapons and not threaten with the nuclear weapons.
In the State of Union Address in the early 2002, Bush, the then US president claimed that north
Korea is one of the “axis of evil” and develops the weapons of mass destruction.
After Kelly, assistant secretary of the Department of State and special envoy of the US president
visited Pyongyang in the early October 2002, the US claimed that the DPRK plans to enrich Uranium and
threatened that the North-SOuth relations and the DPRK-Japan relations, to say nothing of the DPRK-US
relations would be destructed, if north Korea does not give up the plan.
On November 14, the US announced that it would suspend the offering of the heavy oil that was
accorded to the DPRK-US Agreed Framework and from December substantially stopped to offer it.
As a result, the enemy’s moves were on the climax, nullifying the framework.
To cope with this, the DPRK took the option of strengthening its war deterrent, a kind of
substantial counter measure to defend the sovereignty of the country and the life of the people. This was
right.
In the past, the US attempted on many occasions to ignite the nuclear war against the DPRK. The
war would break out, if the DPRK was weak.
If so, what would happen to the destiny of the Korean people and to the situation of the Korean
peninsula?
The DPRK would have been like Iraq, Libya, Balkan Peninsula or Afghanistan. It would have
been the most destructive nuclear war in history.
Thanks to the strong power built by Songun, the US dared not to ignite a war and therefore peace
in the Korean Peninsula and the Northeast Asia could be maintained.
It is not accidental that the international community calls the DPRK’s war deterrent the reliable
guarantee for peace in the Korean peninsula and the Northeast Asia.
The DPRK’s deterrent is able to precisely strike the aggressive bases no matter where they are.
The US is the only nuclear war criminal that brought about nuclear holocaust on this planet, and
the empire of evil that made the nuclear weapons first and have most of them, while vociferating
denuclearization and non-proliferation of the nuclear.
The nuclear weapon, however, is not the monopoly of the US. The time in which the US made

A nice guy brought up seeing an old car that was at a car show. Discussed what he heard about the

With all the regulations, it could be possible to make cars like they used to in the sense of atmosphere and

I see the rules as guidelines and so my practice is not Orthodox but it is informed by Orthodoxy. I believe
that if you desire "orthodox", small "o", Christian theology... This will get you to it the fastest.
There are so many other amazing things here, too, such as how they bridge the gaps between religion and
science: the Russians were all Orthodox Christians before the Soviets, and they also were heavily invested
in science.
People forget that the Catholic Church created science, the Protestants and Catholics added to and refined
science, and once everyone else, including the Orthodox, had learned how to do science... Everyone found
a way to contribute before the world wars.
You cannot have Science without Christianity.
I say, for religion, you have the Orthodox Church, Catholic Church, and Protestants. Everyone either falls
into the first two or are in the last, whether you are Christian or not. Islam goes into my Protestant
