We are looking for a research professional who is very skilled in machine learning, in particular large
language models. Ideally, you have a Masters in computer science, but a strong undergraduate training
in computer science is a fine substitute. Knowledge of economics/finance is optional. Still, the
position is particularly instructive if you want to pursue a PhD later, in computer science or
economics/finance.
For the style of research involved, see the paper “Asset Embeddings”. The research is joint with
Xavier Gabaix (Harvard) and Moto Yogo (Princeton). Previous Research Professionals at Chicago
Booth have gone on to Ph.D. programs at Harvard, MIT, Princeton, Stanford, Berkeley, and the
University of Chicago.
If interested, please fill out our online survey (https://forms.gle/cc4wQ2PGnctLwN3e6) and this
formal application (https://uchicago.wd5.myworkdayjobs.com/en-US/External/job/Research-
Professional_JR24053). If you have filled out the formal application already, you do not need to do
so again. We pay a competitive salary and provide standard benefits such as health insurance.
