Today, the high sales of popular consumer goods reflect the power of advertising and not the

real needs of the society in which they are sold. To what extent do you agree or disagree?

Nowadays, famous goods have a great sale number since the ads provided by the companies
become more attractive. Although the stuffs are not necessary, people still buying them. I am totally
agree with the saying because people are getting more consumptive now compare to the past.

As the time grows, the development of knowledge and technology is getting better and more
modern. It leads to the advancement of advertising technique to become more creative and
attractive. As the result, people are finding it hard to differentiate between their actual needs and
the wants. For instance, companies use media to target particular group of consumers and creating a
sense of need for products they may not have even thought before.

Additionally, companies often spend a huge portion of their budget on advertising and promotion.
Sometimes they put the quality and service improvement aside as they wanted to sell more
products. This can be seen in the case of many local skincare companies that spend a big amount of
money to hire a well-known celebrity as their brand ambassador to catching the market's eyes.

Lastly, there is fact to suggest that consumer behaviour is often driven by external factors, such as
peer influence and societal norms. Commercials take advantage of this and manipulate consumers
into purchasing they may not surely need. For example, the trend of using high-priced and trendy
smartphones among young people. While some may genuinely require the features of such devices,
others may simply be influenced by the social pressure to own the latest version.

In conclusion, advertisment plays a crucial role in making buyer behaviour and driving sales of
popular consumer goods. Therefore, it is important that people become more aware on the
influence of advertising and make a briefed decisions before buying something.
Some car manufacturing companies have stated that there is a possibility that we will see flying
cars in the future. Is this a positive or negative development?

Some of car factories have claimed that it is possible to produce flying automobiles in the upcoming
days. In my point of view, although it might be a positive development due to the implication on
traffic issue, there are more disbenefits such as the increase of air accidents and the affliction of
birds.

According to the usage of many vehicles in this era, especially in metropolitan areas, the traffic
related issue often happened during the workdays. Promoting these flying automobiles in the future
might become a solution to reduce traffic congestion in cities. For example, Statistics Indonesia (BPS)
recorded that the traffic jams in Jakarta, the capital city of Indonesia, has reached the very
uncomfortable level. It has been a chronic problem and cost others time, money, and energy.
Recently, Indonesian government collaborating with Tesla are trying to introduce the flying cars in
capital city in order to reduce the heavy traffic.

In contrast to this, the flying cars would be a negative development for both birds and people safety.
The gases from the transports could affect and poison the birds. Moreover, it can raise the number of
birds which getting hit by vehicles. According to FAA, almost fifty bird strikes are reported daily on
average. This number could be greater if there are more transports that fly in the sky. Furthermore,
the flights’ pathway would be puzzled and getting more crowded if the cars can fly as high as the
airplanes. Without proper flight plan and training, it would be hard for ordinary people to navigate
and control their motor vehicles. As a result, the percentage of aviation accidents might dramatically
jump. The NTSB database shows that there was over than 13 thousand accidents for the 15 years
2008-2023. It is such a big number of incidents, even the flying cars has not been sale yet.

In conclusion, although the advancement of modern technologies in car manufacturing process will
produce the flying vehicles in the coming times to eliminate the traffic lock, it would be harmful to
the birds and the users.
