Dark Tourism is a key moment to recognize our culture?

Dark Tourism has certain consequences on the development and evolution of the country.
Therefore, the objective of the following essay is to expose some reasons why dark tourism allows
us to identify the facts that favored the formation of an identity according to past events.

Our culture as Colombian citizens has been marked by various violent events that affected the
progress of the country, but dark tourism is important because it allows the facts and the reasons
why they were generated to be known closely. It also allows us to reflect on the opportunities they
have created and how they have been transformed over time to get ahead and finally, this type of
tourism increases national income and helps local businesses.

In addition to these reasons, there are also some negative reasons why it is not good to encourage
these acts. In the first instance, the country will be known only for the tragedies that have
occurred throughout history and the country's culture will be recognized only for bad deeds,
secondly, certain figures, such as murderers or criminals, will be given importance., so much so
that some people start praising them and lastly, they don't give the people who went through this
a chance to forget and heal because it's a reminder of what happened.

I think that, in a certain way, all the acts that have occurred throughout history, good or bad, have
shaped today's culture and ways of life, but I don't think it is vitally important to identify them and
propagandize bad acts. from the past to get an idea of what those things are that represent us,
personally I think it is more important to make known how we have evolved, to mention the
capacity for change such as what the districts of Medellin have become, a sample of all the talent
and not of the tragedies that have occurred.
