Guidelines

Here are some general guidelines to follow when preparing for a preliminary presentation:

1. Content Preparation:

 Clearly explain the problem statement and outline the objectives of your dissertation.
 Summarize the research methodology and data collection methods used.
 Present key findings, analysis, and interpretations of the data.
 Discuss the implications of your findings and their potential contribution to the field of
study.

2. Clarity and Structure:

 Ensure that your presentation is well-organized and follows a logical flow.


 Structure:
o Cover Page with your name, registration number and topic
o Introduction
o Problem Statement
o Research Objectives
o Research Methodology
o Presentation of results and key findings
o Conclusion
 Maximum of 10 slides.

3. Timing and Practice:

 Adhere to the time limit provided for the presentation and allocate time for questions.
 Each student will be provided with 10 minutes to finish their presentation.
 Practice your presentation multiple times to become familiar with the content and
timing.
4. Audience Engagement:
 Engage your audience by maintaining eye contact and speaking clearly.
 Encourage questions and feedback from your audience at the end of the presentation.

5. Professionalism:
 Dress appropriately and maintain a professional demeanour during the presentation.
 Show enthusiasm and confidence in presenting your work.

6. Rehearsal and Feedback:


 Seek feedback from your academic advisor or peers before the actual presentation.
 Incorporate any constructive feedback into your presentation to improve its quality.

7. Question and Answer Preparation:

 Anticipate potential questions and prepare concise and clear responses.


 Be open to discussing limitations, challenges, and potential areas for future research.

8. Etiquette:
 Respect the time allocated to other presenters and refrain from interrupting or
dominating the discussion.
