4. REVELATION- also called the Apocalypse
● Struggle of Christ and his followers against satan and his
forces
FORMATION OF THE GOSPEL -FORMATION TOOK 40-70 YEARS
3 STAGES
● JESUS’ EARTHLY LIFE IN PALESTINE
-Present the works and words of Jesus of Nazareth
-his ministry lasted 3 years
● ORAL TRADITION - Spreading the word of God orally
Reasons
1 - The Seimitic people preferred the “living word” rather
than the written word
2 - The word did not spread globally yet, it was mainly in
palestine and it’s adjacent/neighboring countries
3 - people believed that the Christ would come back soon,
therefore, they felt like preaching the good news was better
than writing about Him and his teachings
“Faith in Jesus” the core of teaching/preaching.
NEED TO WRITE DOWN
1- The apostles and ORIGINAL witnesses were being
martyred or dying
2- spreading farther away from Jerusalem and the Jewish
culture.Therefore, they needed a written record to not speak
something false.
3- realized that Jesus was not coming back as soon as
they expected, and they needed a PERMANENT record of
Jesus' message for future generations of Christians.

years and are FAITH TESTIMONIES of the life, death and resurrection
of Jesus. NOT BIOGRAPHIES WHOSE HISTORICAL DATA NEEDS TO BE
