I. TITLE OF THE STUDY

SATISFACTION: A QUALITATIVE RESEARCH

II. THE PROBLEM

A. INTRODUCTION

In Tacurong City, nestled amidst the vibrant landscapes of the Philippines, the

hospitality industry thrives with an array of hotels catering to both locals and tourists alike.

Within this dynamic sector, the importance of a good management style cannot be

overstated. However, a pervasive problem persists: the lack of comprehensive

understanding regarding how management style influences employee motivation and job

satisfaction within selected hotels.

Good management creates good employees. In order to encourage your team to

put their best foot forward, you want to adopt and instill positive management styles in the

workplace. To really understand what makes certain practices stronger than others, it’s

important to note the best management styles. (Michelle Ercanbrack, 2023). Different

management styles will suit different contexts depending on organizational culture, the

size of the team or organization, the nature of the work or industry and the particular

personalities involved. It all starts with getting the right team in place, the whole can be

greater than the sum of its parts. You need to select the right people for the right jobs,

build a complementary team, and align your people with your organizational goals and

culture.
Knowing how various roles will help to achieve your organization’s goals will help

define the requirements against which you will interview and assess candidates.

As a part of such a competitive business environment every organization has to

plan and strategize as per the prevailing business situation. Today the organizations are

highly focused on customer preferences so as to maximize the returns of business. The

organizations have also realized the importance of building internal competency and

capacity so as to survive and compete in this dynamic business environment. Ensuring

employee commitment towards organizational objectives has been a critical issue faced

by the majority of the organization. Organizations are doing their best in understanding

various factors which could motivate the employees and make sure of the required

commitment towards organizational objectives. The organizations failing to develop such

a framework of organizational practices will result in high turnover of employees which will

burden the organization with extra cost of hiring and training new employees as well as

non execution of organization plans and strategies in the desired manner and low

productivity and performance. (Dr. Chandakrant Varma, 2017).

The employee is an essential element in the process of implementing the

enterprise's mission and vision, especially in the production sphere. Employees should

meet the performance criteria set by the organization to ensure the quantity and quality of

their work. To meet organizational standards, employees need a work environment that

allows them to work freely without problems that can stop them from reaching their full

potential (Raziq and Maulabakhsh, 2015).

Each person has different criteria for measuring their own job satisfaction. The

factor that influences it, is the style of management, but also payments, working hours,

schedule, benefits, stress level and flexibility. Job satisfaction is related to productivity,
motivation, work performance and life satisfaction (Abuhashesh et al.,2019), this implies

that employees' personal lives are covered by this as well.

It should be remembered that job satisfaction affects the employee's feeling of

security in the enterprise. A satisfied employee feels better in the company, performs

better at his work, but above all feels safe when it comes to his future and work in the

enterprise. That is why job satisfaction is such an important element of work safety

(Wolniak and Olkiewicz, 2019; Niciejewska, 2017).

This research embarks on a journey to delve into the intricacies of

management style among selected hotels in Tacurong City, and its consequential

impact on the motivation and job satisfaction of their employees. By shedding light

on this pressing issue, we aim to uncover critical insights that can inform strategic

decision-making and enhance organizational effectiveness within the local

hospitality sector.

III. STATEMENT OF THE PROBLEM

This study aims to determine the importance of good management style

among selected hotels in Tacurong city and its impact on employee motivation and

job satisfaction.

Specifically, this study will seek answers to the following question:

1. Determine the importance of good management style.

2. How does a good management style affect employee motivation?

3. To determine how good management style gives employee satisfaction towards their job.
C. SIGNIFICANCE OF THE STUDY

The significance of this study will be undertaken to know the importance of

good management style and its impact on employees motivation and job

satisfaction.

This will be beneficial to the following:

To the future entrepreneur, for them to gain ideas and knowledge about

management style.

To the future manager, for them to know different types of good management

styles and its impacts.

To the employee, for them to understand the management style of their future

industry.

To the business owner, for them to gain advancement knowledge about good

management style.

To the future researcher, as a guide when conducting a study related to good

management style.

C. SCOPE AND DELIMITATION

The study centre on the concept of good management style among selected

hotels in Tacurong city and its impact on employee motivation and job satisfaction.

The researcher will be conducting a study with the use of a survey questionnaire

among the selected hotel employees in Tacurong city.

IV. OVERVIEW OF METHODOLOGY

A. RESEARCH DESIGN

The study is basically quantitative in design using survey methods of data gathering

. The qualitative component will be from the interview results obtained from

employees of the selected hotel in Tacurong city.


B. RESEARCH LOCALE

This study aims to investigate the importance of good management and its

impact on employee motivation and job satisfaction, particularly focusing on the

selected hotels in Tacurong city, Sultan Kudarat.

C. RESPONDENTS OF THE STUDY

The participants of this study will be the employees of selected hotels in

Tacurong, Sultan Kudarat.

D. INSTRUMENT OF THE STUDY

A survey questionnaire will be developed by the researcher and will be

validated by experts in this field
