General
Drop-out fuse and load-drawing drop-out fuse are the outdoor high voltage protective devices. They are mounted on the

high voltage side of distribution transformer or main or branch distribution circuits, to protect against short circuit and

overload and make and break load current of transformer and circuit. Hereinto, drop-out fuse is made up of insulator support

and fuse tube, its static contact is mounted at both ends of insulator support, and the moving contact is mounted at the both

terminals of fuse tube that is composed of inner arc extinguishing tube and outer phenol aldehyde laminated paper tuber or

epoxy glass cloth tube. The load-drawing drop-out fuse is provided with additional reinforced auxiliary contact and arc chute,

which are used to make and break the load current.

When the drop-out fuse works normally, the fuse tube forms the closing position by using the tension of fuse wire. If the

system has the trouble, the fault current will cause that the fuse is blown out rapidly, and bring electric arc, the arc

extinguishing tube is heated for arc, to decompose much gas, and produce high pressure in the tube, then, longitudinally

blown arc is formed along the pipeline, and the arc is extinguished for rapid lengthening. After the fuse wire is blown out, the

lower moving contact misses the pulling force and turns downwards, the locking mechanism releases the fuse tube to make it

drop out and form the obvious breaking position. When need to draw the load, the moving contact is drawn out with the

insulating rod, at this moment, the main moving and static contacts still keep contact, if need the insulation, the contact is

also drawn out with the insulating rod, meanwhile, the auxiliary contact separates, thus, electric arc presents among auxiliary

contacts, and the electric arc is drawn out in the slit of arc chute, at the same time, the arc chute produces the gas, when the

current crosses zero, the electric arc is extinguished.

三．Disconnecting Switch

（H)GW4 SERIES OUTDOOR HIGH-VOLTAGE DISCONNECTING SWITCH

General
GW4 outdoor disconnenting switch is AC 50Hz outdoor HV equiments, there are 40.5kV, 72.5kV, 126kV and 252kV rated

voltage grade for it, it can open and close the high voltage circuit under no-load conditions and perform the electric isolation

of tested high voltage bus, circuit breaker, charged high-voltage circuit, etc., it also can make and break the small capacitance

or inductive current.

Structure defnation
The disconnecting switch consists of base, insulating post, conductive part and operating mechanism. Each pole has two

posts, and at the top of post, there are two conductive blades, the contact of two blades contacts are in the middle of two

posts; and at the bottom of post, there are bearing sheathes; by the auction of operating mechanism, the blade is able to

rotate 90". so as to meet the opening and closing requirements.

The disconnecting switch is of single-pole type, however, it can be formed into the interlinked three-pole type through

connecting the three poles with the connection rod. It is equipped with CS11 type or CS17 type manual operation mechanism,

hereinto, CS17 is used for the disconnecting switch with earthing device. In addition, CJ16 motor mechanism may be

equipped according to the needs.

On the basis of the abovementioned structure instruction, it is easy to see that the disconnecting switch has reasonable

structure and flexible operation, the single-pole type or three-pole type is used in available; it is featured with convenient

installation, large clearance of open contact blades and reliable insulation. According to customers' needs, it may be provided

with the single-side earthing mode or double earthing mode.

Precautions in installation
1. The insulator should be handled with care in carrying or installing, to avoid it colliding and fractioning with parts like the conductor, wiring board, tool as
well as sharp material.
2. When the composite insulator is hung, the rope should be tied at the end accessory (fitting), rather than the shed or sheath, if the rope has to touch the
shed and sheath, the contact part should be covered with the soft cloth.
3. Even if the material of this insulator shed has the rat-repelling property, some rat-proof measures should be still taken in the storing place just in case.
The damaged shed should be rejected.
