BSMT-2 CHARLIE
Navigators must also take into consideration the ECDIS limitation when using the scale or zoom facility of the electronic charts.
It is possible to zoom- in to a scale larger than that used in the compilation of the data which could create a false impression
about the reliability of the charted information.
- to carry out a Risk Analysis, you must first identify the possible threats that you face, then estimate their likely impacts if they
were to happen, and finally estimate the likelihood that these threats will materialize.
-Limitations: Sensors can only detect what they are designed to detect. For example, a thermal sensor can detect heat, but
cannot detect visible light. Sensors may have limited accuracy or resolution, depending.Mar 5, 2023
4. 4. Applying hydrographic data inaacuracy and limitation of vector and raster char( ECDIS VS RCDC AND ENC VS RNC
-The major difference is that the RN C is essentially a visual reproduction of a paper chart, while the ENC is an image created by
software using the actual data (i.e., from a database) that is contained on a chart. While both show your place on the chart,
only the ENC allows you to access the data that makes it work.
Raster Chart (RNC): RNCs are a direct copy or a scan of the paper charts. It looks identical to a paper chart as all the information
shown is directly printed. The chart only grows larger or smaller as per the zooming and when rotated, everything rotates.
Vector Chart (ENC): ENCs are computer-generated charts.
Everyone can make errors no matter how well trained and motivated they are. However in the workplace, the consequences of
such human failure can be severe. Analysis of accidents and incidents shows that human failure contributes to almost all
accidents and exposures to substances hazardous to health.Sep 29, 202
The most common causes of human errors include lack of training, poor communication, fatigue, stress, distractions, and faulty
equipment. 2. Most errors occur during routine tasks (when the operator is overconfident) or while performing complex ones
(when the operator does not have the necessary skills and tools).Dec 17, 2021,
