Today's architecture in India often leans towards repetitive, mass-produced designs, especially in
large-scale projects. While cost efficiency and ease of replication contribute to this trend, it results in a
mundane urban landscape. Creativity is constrained to facade modifications, limiting the holistic pursuit
of architecture's impact
What is the logic behind your idea? Why does it matter to you?
In architecture education, emphasis on creativity contrasts with the prevalent mundane, templatised
designs in the field. The disconnect prompts queries on public awareness of architecture's influence, its
perceived mundanity, and the association with modernism's principles. Issues like overpopulation,
capitalism, and lack of skilled labor might contribute. Criticism of modernism's imperfect implementation
raises the need for thorough scrutiny to ascertain its actual impact and whether this critique aligns with the
public's perception.
