We’re so glad you made it here. Together, we’re

about to embark on a journey. Trust us, it’s going to
be an amazing journey of growth and development.

Congrats again. In case you ever wondered what this

internship is. We’ve got a definition for you:

The Genesys Internship Program - Codename:

Learnable is a product development and leadership
training program for young people that are
interested in building a career in the software
development industry. The program is designed to
equip entry-level techies with the skills required for a
successful career in technology. The program covers
Frontend developement, Backend development,
Product design and Web 3. It also focuses on helping
participants acquire soft skills such as effective
communication, research, marketing, etc.
EVERYTHING IS LEARNABLE...
To put it in our own language, we’re contributing to
the talent and skill-driven economy of Nigeria. We
believe that our biggest asset is our people. So we’re
doing our bit to ensure that these people grow to
fill their potential and exceed expectations, through
tech.
Okay, now that we are done with the definition, let’s
give you gist;

Since 2016 till date, we’ve been able to help at least

450 young techies start careers in tech by teaching
them the skills they need to have, and helping them
put these skills into practice. We’ve also been able
to directly outsource a higher percentage of these
450 people to teams where they can apply their
knowledge.

The internship is designed to help you be the best
you can. This part actually means a lot to us. We
mean, we want to get you on your feet. If you were
already standing, we want to get you running. If you
were already part of the race, let’s see if you can fly.

The internship is designed to last for 6 - 9 months.

Mentors
We’ll introduce you to a few people who were part of this journey in
the past years. They would help you in case you’re finding anything
difficult. These guys are people with a lot of hands-on experience in
what you’ll be learning. So, I’m thinking you could learn a thing or two

Discord!
Discord is going to be our playground till we get to see
you. Discord would serve as our virtual office, for everyday
communication, tasks, inquiry, random jokes, and fun! Yes, you
should be settling in there by now.

Teachable
It’s interesting how this resource absolutely rhymes with the name of
the internship, it is what it is though. Teachable is going to serve as our
online classroom. From classes, tests, feedback, code snippets and
design work, you’ll be able to see through the learning phase with this
tool.

Google Meet/Zoom

We’ll be seeing our faces a lot throughout this journey for a bunch of
reasons; meetings, design sprints, feedback sessions, fun sessions, and
more. These 2 resources will come in handy all the time.
 Activities
EVERYTHING IS LEARNABLE...

The internship will not be what it is without all the

fun stuff that makes it an awesome experience. We
understand that it’s not just about the learning, the
experience you’ll have means a lot too. So, we lined
up a bunch of fun stuff to ease your mind through this
journey. We like to play, and you’ll play with us.
Elimination
As much as we would love to tell you that this is all fun and games,
there are certain things we just can’t play with, like:
• Missing deadlines
• Failure to complete tasks assigned
• Misconduct
• Lack of team spirit
• Dragging feet
• Incomplete attendance
We need to feel your energy as much as you can feel ours. So, please
note you risk being eliminated from the internship when you break any
rules. We really want you to stay through to the end of this journey, we’re
asking nicely, please be good, so we can help you become the best you
can be.
Feedback
It’s weird that we didn’t mention this earlier. We absolutely love
feedback. At every point of the internship, we would love for you to tell
us how you feel we can make things better. We’ll surely listen when you
talk to us.
