Filipino cuisine is one of our country's pride, with that in mind, choosing
our national dish is one of our nation's hot topic. Every Filipino dish have their
own charm and distinctiveness. But when it comes to choosing our national
dish, it is very important to consider the healthiness of it. Tinola being a healthy
dish, should be the national dish of the Philippines.

One of the reasons why Tinola should be the national dish of the
Philippines is because of the health benefits it provides. According to the
National Nutrition Council "A bowl (250g) of it provides 219 kcal, 7g
carbohydrates, 35g protein and 6g fats. Papaya contains vitamin A, vitamin C
and antioxidants which help in building immunity while chili pepper leaves is a
good source of calcium, phosphorus, and iron." Many Filipinos especially the
children, suffer from weak immunity mainly caused by insufficiency of
vitamins in their body. Good thing about Tinola is it is rich in vitamins and
other nutrients that can help in building a stronger immune system.

Another reason why Tinola should be the national dish of the Philippines
is because this Chicken soup is often served to sick people. Fresenius Kidney
Care mentioned 'Native Chicken Tinola' in their article "Kidney Friendly
Recipes" it is also referred as a healthy and flavorful dish. It's good for people
with kidney problems. Tinola has less salt that's bad for our kidney. It uses
ginger, garlic, and green papaya, which are good for flavor without being too
salty. Given that, Tinola isn't just tasty, it's also good for people's health.

Yet another reason why Tinola should be the National dish of the
Philippines is because it is abundant in vegetables and contains less fat.
SMARTPARENTING stated the ingredients of Tinola and their benefits in their
article "7 Benefits You Didn’t Know You Get When You Eat Tinola".
According to this article "Chicken is rich in protein – chicken meat is low in
saturated fat, which is one of the causes of heart diseases; Malunggay is a
superfood (natural foods that contain high doses of vitamins and minerals);
Sayote has folate; Garlic and onions, these "starter kit" veggies have been
known to help reduce breast and colon cancers; Ginger soothes the throat and
tummy. .Having lots of veggies and less fat in Tinola is important because it
makes it good for your health.Vegetables have nutrients that help keep your
body healthy and strong., and less fat means it's better for your heart. So, eating
Tinola is not only tasty but also helps you stay healthy and strong.

In contrast, Tinola isn't really a healthy dish. Giving a lot of health

benefits Tinola is shown to be a much more better candidate to recieve it's title
of being the Philippines' national dish. Being more healthier and tastier
according to most resarch.
