Column Definition
Unique numeric identifier assigned to the value and description of industry sector codes used by different
classification systems included in the Industry Sectors Cross Reference Service.
S&P Capital IQ’s unique identifier to represent the industry classification (e.g., SIC= 400, NAICS = 416,
ICB= 604).
This is the branch level of the industry classification tree, where 0 represents the top level, 1 represents the
branch immediately below 0, 2 represents the branch immediately below 1, and so forth.
This is the classification code for the industry classification system.
The textual description of the industryClassCode.
The industryClassCodeId for the parent branch of the current branch.
S&P Capital IQ’s unique identifier to represent the industry classification (e.g., SIC= 400, NAICS = 416,
ICB= 604).
The textual description of the characteristic type (e.g., for ANZSIC industry classification data, the
classification type name will be ANZSIC Firm Characteristic).
Unique numeric value assigned to a type of identifier, such as DUNS, CUSIP, Local Registry ID, VAT ID,
etc.
Unique identifier name, such as D&B DUNS, S&P GVKEY, Fitch Issuer ID, etc.
Identifies the object type that the identifier relates to within S&P Capital IQ data (e.g., Company, Security,
Trading Item). For Business Entity Cross Reference Service, this will always be “Company” or
objecttypeId=2.
Unique numerical values created by CUSIP to identify the issuer type.
Code to indicate issuer type (e.g., C, G, M, S).
Name for the issuer type (e.g., Corporate, Government Issuer, Municipal, Sovereign).

The ciqCompanyCrossRef table provides the latest link between the S&P Capital IQ companyId and a vendor specific issuer id
DUNS, Moody’sOrg Id, etc. The companyId links to the Company Foundation Plus File for more descriptive data.

Table Description
The ciqCompanyCrossReftable provides thelatest link between the S&P Capital IQ companyIdand a
vendor specific issuer identifiersuch as CUSIP/CINS, S&P Org ID, DUNS, Moody’sOrg Id, etc. The
companyIdlinks to the Company FoundationPlus Filefor more descriptive data.
If you receive the CC6/CINS6 package, you will also receive the ciqCusipCinsAddtlDetails table. This
tableprovides the CUSIP Issuer Number (first 6 characters of the CUSIP identifier) and Issuing Entity
Name as identified by CUSIP Global Services.
