A Study on Architectural Typology and Urban Interpretations by
Neo-Rationalism Architects

Abstract
‘Tis research sims to investigate perspectives by which allan Neo-Rationaism architects attempted to analyse urban and process how
they introduced architectural typology theory into their works. The architectural typology theory has been mentioned by modern architects
‘when they attempt to reconstruct the spirit of space and historicity those are lst in modern architects. In this paper, perspectives for analysing
cities and process in introducing architectural typology theory are mentioned by focusing Aldo Rossi and Carlo Aymonino, representative Taian
‘Neo-Rationaism architects. As a conclssion, comparisons between the both are presented: Aldo Rossi considers the urban as an assembly of
various pats and values the formation whereas Carlo Aymonino approaches the urban based on functional relationships between various parts
and gives more attentions to the funetion in architectural typology
