Grade: Nursery to 2nd

Month: April

Theme: Outdoor Sports and Physical Activity

Week 1: Introduction to Obstacle Course

• Objective: Introduce children to the concept of an obstacle course


using huddles, cones, hoops, and markers to develop gross motor
skills.
• Activities:
1. Demonstration: Show children how to navigate through a
simple obstacle course using huddles, cones, hoops, and
markers.
2. Practice: Allow children to practice going through the obstacle
course individually and in small groups.
3. Modification: Adjust the difficulty of the course based on the
Class and skill level of the students.
• Sportsmanship Focus: Encourage teamwork and cheering each
other on as they complete the obstacle course.

Week 2: Hurdle Hopping and Cone Weaving

• Objective: Improve agility and coordination through hurdle hopping


and cone weaving activities.
• Activities:
1. Hurdle hopping: Set up low hurdles (adjust height based on
age) for children to hop over in a designated area.
2. Cone weaving: Arrange cones in a zigzag pattern and have
children weave in and out of them while dribbling a ball or
moving through the course.
3. Relay race: Divide children into teams and organize a relay race
incorporating both hurdle hopping and cone weaving.
• Sportsmanship Focus: Emphasize good sportsmanship, encouraging
teammates during the relay race.
Week 3: Hoop Toss and Marker Balance

• Objective: Enhance hand-eye coordination with hoop tossing and


improve balance with marker balancing activities.
• Activities:
1. Hoop toss: Place hoops at varying distances and have children
toss beanbags or balls into them to score points.
2. Marker balance: Place markers on the ground in a straight line
and challenge children to walk along the line without stepping
off.
3. Combination challenge: Create a course that incorporates both
hoop tossing and marker balancing, encouraging children to
complete each station.
• Sportsmanship Focus: Encourage positive reinforcement and
cheering for each other's successes during the challenges.

Week 4: Outdoor Sports

• Objective: Apply skills learned throughout the month in a fun-filled


outdoor sports.
• Activities:

1. Rotating stations: Set up stations around the outdoor area


where children can engage in different activities learned
throughout the month, such as obstacle courses, hurdle
hopping, cone weaving, hoop toss, and marker balancing.
2. Mini-games: Organize mini-games like relay races, tug-of-war,
and sack races to promote teamwork and friendly competition.
• Sportsmanship Focus: Emphasize the importance of fair play, good
sportsmanship, and having fun while participating in outdoor
activities.

Ensure to provide adequate supervision and adjust activities as needed to


ensure safety and inclusivity for all children. Additionally, promote a
positive and encouraging atmosphere throughout the month to foster
enjoyment and enthusiasm for physical activity.
