TEENAGE SIGMA SPACE RACERS

BY KEREN OBARA
Year: 2123

Location: Earth Interstellar Port. Previously known as Iceland.

Kenny’s room was a kaleidoscope of purple and pink luminescence. It was spacious
and wide, because her father wanted her to feel like a princess in a castle. Light rods snaked
along the walls, casting intricate patterns that swirled and pulsed like a living cyber network.
She had just taken her evening shower and lay on her soft bed as her purple eyes glistened.
Her dark brown skin, smooth with a glow unique to her, shined spotless and radiant. She
wore a silver oversized shirt that draped down her slim and tiny frame, pairing it up with
silver thigh high socks.

Outside her window, a cityscape shimmered in the beautiful summer evening.

Spaceships could be seen landing and taking off at the main dock of the Interstellar Port. The
city’s towers reached towards the sky like luminescent crystal spires as the sun set with a
violet hue across the atmosphere. Kenny briefly got up from her bed and walked to her
window.

The sunset hues of cerulean and violet bathed the cityscape in a soft luminescence.
She pressed her nose against the cool glass, a child-like wonder filling her eyes as she
watched the ballet of spaceships above. Sleek, silver vessels, laden with the spoils of a
thousand galaxies, descended gently onto the Earth Interstellar Port, their landing lights
casting playful patterns across the vibrant, tech-woven cityscape. From her vantage point, she
could almost smell the exotic minerals they carried – the glittering stardust of distant planets,
the fiery ores of volcanic moons, the shimmering crystals of celestial storms. But it was the
departing ships that truly captivated her heart. They were filled with Earth's bounty, grown
under the benevolent sun, and nurtured by the fertile soil. Each one carried a promise of life,
of sustenance, of the vibrant spirit of Earth itself. As they gracefully rose into the twilight
sky, their tails streaking the heavens with crimson and gold, Kenny felt a surge of belonging,
her heart echoing the rhythm of a planet that had become a beacon of hope amidst the
vastness of the milky way galaxy.

Her short attention span, however, could not let her appreciate the moment for long.
She quickly remembered that she had an upcoming game to play. She walked to the gaming
chair in the middle of her room that pulsated with a soft lavender glow. That was Kenny’s
throne, her portal to countless worlds. A massive, curved screen dominated the wall,
displaying a breathtaking vista of a fantastical landscape.

“I just wanna be your sigma.” Kenny sang leisurely as her fourteen-year-old voice
echoed through her purple lit room as she turned on her favourite game, ‘Sigma Space
Racers’.

Kenny smiled as she saw the logo of Sigma Space Racers, and lightly bounced in her
gaming chair out of excitement. Her fingers danced across the neon-lit console, her eyes
glued to the holographic display where her sleek, custom-designed space pod soared through
the vibrant pink and purple nebula. The air buzzed with the pulsing of synthwave music, the
soundtrack perfectly complementing the vaporwave aesthetic of the open-world racing game.
Buildings with glowing geometric shapes in turquoise and magenta whizzed by, reflecting in
the mirrored surface of her pod. Kenny grinned, her heart pounding with excitement as she
maintained her lead position.

That was the ultimate rush - a cyberpunk adrenaline high combined with the serenity
of a solar-powered future. She expertly navigated through neon-outlined tunnels, dodging
other players' pods who materialized out of the shimmering ether at any given moment. That
was the beauty of the open-world format, never knowing who might join the race or when,
adding an element of unpredictable chaos to the already thrilling game. With every boost and
hairpin turn, Kenny felt the surge of victory coursing through her veins. She ruled that world,
a digital utopia where speed, skill, and a touch of cyberpunk edge reigned supreme.

Chewing on her favourite cherry gum, she blew a bubble. Her cherry-coloured
gaming headsets were shaped like cat ears. She sat perched on the edge of her chair, her
fingers hovering over the control panel embedded in its armrest. Her avatar, a fierce warrior
named Kenny, after her, had gained millions of galactic points and awards for the ability to
race across different terrains in the challenging video game. Online, she was famous for her
successes and conquests in the game, along with the brilliant tactics she always came up with
to unlock new realms in the cyber world. Her only contender, however, was an online avatar
who used the same name across all cyber worlds, Regulus Shadow Blade. Regulus didn’t join
the races often. However, when she did, she would always give Kenny a hard time in that she
was unbeatable. They would either always draw or crash the game’s servers because of their
speed. If it wasn’t for Regulus, Kenny would have been the fastest racer in the video game
that summer.
Just as Kenny was about to win her current race, Regulus Shadow Blade showed up
on the racetrack. Kenny frowned as she looked at the notification on the game that read,
“Your number one contender, Regulus Shadow Blade, has joined the game.”

“Bring it on! Reggie!” She yelled at the screen as she braced herself for the gruelling
battle about to come.

Kenny adjusted her headset, the holographic projection of the sun enveloping her
vision. With a deep breath, she leaned forward and pressed her fingers against the control
panel.

Kenny's heart pounded like a jackhammer in her chest as she pushed her solar-
powered pod to its limits. The neon-lit highway stretched before her, a shimmering ribbon of
purple and pink against the inky blackness of space. Beside her, Regulus Shadow Blade, the
notorious racer known for her ruthless tactics, was neck-and-neck, her pod a menacing
silhouette against the digital backdrop. The synthesized music throbbed in her ears, its
rhythm matching the rapid beat of her heart. Kenny knew she couldn't afford to lose focus.
Regulus was relentless, a predator waiting for the slightest mistake.

Kenny gritted her teeth, her fingers dancing across the controls. She expertly
navigated through the neon-outlined curves, her pod leaving trails of shimmering light in its
wake. Regulus was relentless, her energy blade crackling with raw power. Kenny knew that
Regulus was preparing for her signature move, the Solar Flare, a devastating attack that could
cripple her pod and leave her vulnerable.

Kenny had to act fast. She slammed her thumb on the boost button, her pod rocketing
forward with an electrifying surge. She executed a daring manoeuvre, weaving through a
cluster of holographic asteroids, narrowly avoiding a collision. Regulus was caught off guard,
her attack missing her mark. Seeing her opportunity, Kenny unleashed her own special attack,
the Cosmic Pulse. A wave of energy erupted from her Kenny’s pod, engulfing Regulus in a
blinding flash of iridescent light. Regulus’s pod spun out of control and flew off the racetrack
into virtual space.

Kenny’s pod then developed an awe-striking layer of lightning. Such a thing had
never been seen in the game before. It was so magnanimous, that the bridge between virtual
and physical blurred momentarily, and lighting engulfed Kenny’s game control, moving
further to her arms, and eventually to her gaming chair. She was in the zone, lost in the sauce.
She had defeated Regulus Shadow Blade for the first time and was about to win the race. If
she won that race, she would be the undisputed Queen of the Solar Highway. A title that
nobody had managed to get. However, as she neared the finishing line, the game’s server
crashed.

“Sorry, Rizzler, you are so phantom tax. Game over!” A voice within the video game
announced using online gaming terms that would confuse any adult.

Whenever she raced against Regulus Shadow Blade, it always resulted in a phantom
tax, which was basically a time out for both. The time out usually lasted two to three days.

“Oh my God! Not another phantom tax!” Kenny said as she placed a palm on her
forehead in frustration.

She took off her gamer headsets and walked to her bathroom. Kenny padded barefoot
across the cool, luminous floor of her bathroom. The air filled with the gentle hum of hidden
technology. The walls shimmered with a soft, opalescent glow, reflecting the holographic
image of a starry night sky that stretched endlessly above her. The air itself seemed alive,
tingling with energy, and carrying the sweet scent of lavender and sandalwood.

She reached for her sonic toothbrush, its sleek design a testament to futuristic
technology. As she brushed, the bristles vibrated at a precise frequency, leaving her mouth
feeling clean and invigorated. Next, she dispensed a dollop of her favourite rice-based face
wash onto her palm. The pearly white liquid shimmered slightly, infused with the delicate
fragrance of jasmine. As she applied it, the nanobots within the formula danced across her
skin, gently exfoliating away any impurities.

Kenny rinsed her face with warm water that cascaded from the hidden nozzles
embedded within the wall. The water felt like a thousand tiny fingers massaging her face,
leaving it feeling soft and supple. She then reached for a plush, silk towel, its fibres woven
with silver threads that shimmered like moonlight. With gentle strokes, she patted her face
dry, feeling a sense of serenity wash over her.

Finally, she picked up a jar of Pink Cosmic Cream, its iridescent surface reflecting the
holographic stars above. The cream was specially formulated to protect against the ever-
growing harshness of the sun's UV rays, a vital necessity in their age. As she applied the
cream, its light, silky texture felt like a luxurious caress on her skin. The sweet aroma of rose
and starflower filled the air, making her smile and giggle in delight. The high-tech bathroom
was her haven of self-care and beauty. A place where she could escape the chaos of the
outside world. As the stars shimmered above her, she hugged herself, feeling comfy and
sweet.

Just then, Kenny’s phone rang. A virtual screen appeared in front of her, asking
whether to pick up the call or not. She tapped onto the green icon and a phone call with her
mother commenced.

“Hi Mum. How are you?” Kenny asked passively, her eyes fixated on a new video
game she was beginning to play, called Kaizen Kinesis.

“I’m alright, darling.” Kenny’s mother replied. “How are your holidays over there?
How is your father?”

“He’s never home, but I don’t care because I have my video games.” Kenny replied.

“Alright then,” Kenny’s mother spoke. “I just called you to let you know that I’m
ordering a tutor for you, as I wasn’t pleased with your grades last year. She will begin online
classes with you next week on Tuesday. Aside from this, would you mind telling me why
your school record says you missed over a month of school last semester?”

Kenny shrugged. “Periods.” She replied.

“Kenyah Tanit, periods do not last a whole month.” Her mother said in a
reprimanding manner. She was used to her daughter’s shenanigans, but the fact that Kenny
had missed a whole month of school was preposterous. Inside, she blamed Kenny’s father.
“See, this is the reason your father and I got divorced. He was supposed to be watching over
you but he’s too busy with work. Now, you missed a whole month of school.”

Kenny rolled her eyes, fed up with her mother’s criticisms of her father.

“I didn’t skip a whole month of school. It was certain days I missed that when
conglomerated create a month.” Kenny replied stoically.

“Very well then. Your tutor will get in touch with you over the weekend to discuss
your sessions, and how we can accelerate the speed at which you graduate so that you can
come do an internship program on the Mars research facility before you go off to college.”
Her mother said.

“Sure thing, mom.” Kenny replied.

“Goodby”-

Kenny ended the phone call before her mother could say goodbye. Quickly, she got
back to her game. She placed a neuro-interface upon her temples. That was her preferred
method of playing.

“Welcome, to Kaizen Kinesis!” A voice from the video game said.

Kenny's eyes were glued to the holographic display, her fingers dancing across the
neural interface strapped to her temples. Inside the virtual world of Kaizen Kinesis, her
avatar, a digitized version of herself, moved with grace and power.

The battle arena shimmered around her, a kaleidoscope of neon lights and holographic
projections. Her opponent, a hulking brute named Noble Warlord, lunged at her, his metal
fists crackling with energy. Kenny sidestepped the attack with the agility of a seasoned
martial artist, her own fists weaving through the air in a flurry of lightning-fast strikes.

Each punch and kick she delivered resonated with a satisfying thud, the feedback
delivered directly to her nervous system via the neural interface, blurring the lines between
reality and the virtual world. She could feel the impact of her blows, the strain in her muscles,
and the exhilaration of the fight coursing through her.

Noble Warlord, however, was no pushover. He fought with the ferocity of a cornered
animal. His metal arms capable of crushing steel. But Kenny was undeterred. She drew upon
her years of training in virtual combat, utilizing a unique blend of martial arts techniques
from other video games she had played.

With a deft flick of her wrist, she activated her nano-weave suit, its fibres hardening
to deflect a barrage of blows. Then, with a burst of speed, she unleashed a series of
devastating kicks, each one powered by a micro fusion reactor embedded within her suit.
Noble Warlord staggered back, his metal frame groaning under the assault.

Seizing the opportunity, Kenny unleashed her ultimate move, the Lightning Blast. A
wave of pure energy erupted from her body, engulfing Noble Warlord in a blinding light. The
arena trembled as the energy dissipated, revealing Noble Warlord lying motionless on the
ground, defeated.

However, before Kenny could celebrate her victory, her screen began to glitch. She
tilted her head in confusion as the glitch turned into numerous pixels of various colours. The
pixels then turned into static that took over the entire screen of the game. Kenny put away her
gaming gadgets and moved closer to the screen. A message was downloading into her
computer system. A message from a random source that she had no control over. When the
text finished generating, the screen cleared. Kenny carefully read the letter in front of her.

The message read:

“The philosopher’s stone is neither an elixir, nor a metal. Rather, the philosopher’s
stone shall occur after years of genetic perfection. It shall be found within the first generation
of the 22nd Century. These few individuals will hold the secret to immortality within their
DNA. They are the children of the flame. The sons and daughters of Almighty God himself.
When the world dissipates into oblivion, they shall reweave it once more. In the universal
sphere, they shall take their seats as the royal demigods of the entire cosmos. They shall be
worshipped, revered, and praised. Sincerely, Christian Rosenkreuz.”

Kenny scrunched her eyebrows as she read the text. She looked to the side, trying to
decipher what she was reading. However, she was never a literature fanatic. She mostly
couldn’t stand riddles or poetry.

“What in the name of Ohio is this?” She commented before she got up and walked to
her bed.

She walked to her bed and picked up her phone, quickly forgetting about what had
just happened. She could rarely pay attention to one thing, so usually, she jumped from one
activity to another. The soft plush rug beneath her toes a welcome contrast to the slick, metal
floors of the rest of the apartment. She cranked the volume on her portable speaker, the
pulsating synthwave beats filling the air. The holographic lights in her room danced to the
music, casting shimmering patterns on the walls and ceiling.

Kenny closed her eyes and let the music take over her. She swayed her hips and
twirled, her body moving instinctively to the rhythm. The worries of the day melted away,
replaced by pure joy and liberation. In her room, she was free to be herself, to express herself
without judgment. As she spun around, her reflection in the holographic mirror shimmered
and distorted, creating an endless kaleidoscope of images. She laughed, captivated by the
ever-changing shapes and forms. She felt like a character in a music video, dancing on the
edge of reality.
Suddenly, an idea struck her. With a mischievous grin, she grabbed the holographic
paintbrush from her desk. It was her favourite tool, capable of creating anything she could
imagine. She traced patterns in the air, drawing vibrant neon flowers and swirling galaxies
onto the walls. The room transformed into a personalized art gallery, reflecting her unique
personality and boundless creativity.

When she danced, she actively engaged with her maladaptive daydreaming. On that
day, she fantasized about one boy who had been on her mind all summer, Vaughn. His curly
blonde hair, blue eyes, and elated smile all played through her thoughts as she wondered what
it would feel like to be his girlfriend. Kenny smiled as she imagined the two of them taking
cute pictures together and having romantic walks along the beach.

Kenny met Vaughn during a joint field trip between her school and his. Her friend,
Jarvien, introduced them to each other. Kenny was shy at first because Vaughn was two years
older than her. He was fifteen at the time, and she was thirteen. Not only that, but Vaughn
was the tall handsome athletic guy that all the girls swooned over. But gradually, she warmed
up to him, and him to her. He too, had been nervous. He thought Kenny was the most
beautiful girl he had ever laid eyes on. Although they both fancied each other, neither of them
dared to make the first move. He thought of her as too young for him, she thought of him as
too handsome for her. Thus, the two teenagers were in a limbo. Constantly thinking about
each other, but unsure of what to do.

Kenny continued to dance, her movements becoming more playful and energetic. She
jumped and twirled, her laughter echoing through the room. She felt like she was flying,
soaring through a world of her own making. In that moment, Kenny was truly happy. The
world outside faded away, and all that existed was the music, the lights, and the pure joy of
being herself. That was her sanctuary, her escape from the ordinary, a place where she could
be free and carefree. And as she danced, she got a strong hunch. A hunch that only good
things lay ahead for her. That hunch was interrupted when Kenny received a phone call from
her friend Jarvien. She swiped to answer, elated that her friend called her.

“Hi Jarvien! How are you?” Kenny asked in delight.

However, her delight was interrupted when Jarvien spoke in an alarmed tone. His
voice was eager with urgency.

“Kenny! Get out of the way!” Jarvien shouted.

“What?” Kenny asked, confused.

“Kenyah” Get down!” Vaughn’s voice echoed through the background of the phone
call.

Instinctively, Kenny ducked. Just then, a car came crashing through the window of
her room, sending pieces of glass flying. Kenny swiftly pulled the bed covers and used them
to shield her body. The impact of the crash caused a sonic vibration that shook her entire
house. Hardly had she understood what was happening, than she recognised the car that had
flown in. It was Vaughn’s car. She recognised it from the soft blue luminescence that marked
the lined of its anti-gravity engines. Kenny quickly got up from the rubble. Jarvien, her best
friend, got out of the back seat and urgently walked ran to her. His pale skin was flustered,
and he was visibly out of breath. Kenny’s sixth sense told her that something was very
wrong, that some sort of danger had befallen them. A ringing commenced in her ear. Usually,
when that ringing happened, it meant that she had to act on something. She quickly picked up
her purple bag from her bed and pulled out her purple electric gun.

“Jarvien, what’s wrong?” Kenny asked.

Jarvien took a second to catch his breath. His pale forehead had mild drops of sweat
tipping down to his pink lips. He took a few more breaths before he spoke.

“We’re being chased by a group of murderous bounty hunters. They’re looking for
you too. They’ll be here soon. You need to come with us, or else they will find you and kill
you.” He said.

“Murderous bounty hunters? What do they want with us?” Kenny asked.

“They claim we’re in possession of a device called the Quantum Transcender.”

Jarvien explained.

“What’s a Quantum Transcender?” Kenny asked.

“That’s the thing.” Jarvien replied. “I have no idea. Neither do Vaughn and Santino.”

The two front doors of the car opened. Santino, who was in the driver’s seat, walked
out.

His dark hair, as rich as espresso, framed eyes that held the mystery of a moonless
night. Rosy skin reminiscent of winter, bloomed from beneath the collar of his satin black
shirt, a decadent whisper against the starkness of his attire. The glasses perched on his
nose, not a hindrance, but a frame for his gaze. His deep dark eyes were slightly droopy and
sleepy. This paired with his slightly downturned lips gave him a serious look that intimidated
most people. Jarvien and Kenny were not intimidated by him though, for he and Vaughn
always solved problems in the most effective ways.

Vaughn walked out of the car right after Santino. A bright hum of warm energy
radiated from him. Tall and broad-shouldered, he moved with an effortless grace that spoke
of years spent honing his athleticism. His blonde hair, as fluffy as a dandelion head, framed a
face sculpted with sharp cheekbones and a jawline that could cut diamonds. The most striking
feature, though, were his eyes. They were a clear, cerulean blue that seemed to hold the
secrets of a thousand summer skies.

He and Santino both clicked on their watches, and a virtual map of the milky way
appeared. They strategized about where Jarvien and Kenny would be safe from their
pursuers. As the two tall seventeen-year-olds looked at the holographic map, Kenny’s
thoughts trailed off. The cause of her distraction was Vaughn.

He wore all black, the colour clinging to his lean frame like a second skin. Black
cargo pants emphasized the muscularity of his legs, while a tucked-in shirt left the tantalizing
hint of veiny forearms peeking out. But the pièce de résistance were his golden glasses,
perched atop his nose like a crown. They caught the light, glinting against his pale skin and
creating a halo that made him appear almost angelic.

Kenny’s gaze skipped over his features, lingering for a beat too long on those lush
pink lips before darting away. Her mouth watered, a traitorous reaction she desperately tried
to suppress. Vaughn was a supernova, an explosion of light and heat in the monochrome
world of her day. And though she knew she shouldn't, she couldn't help but be drawn into his
orbit.

As Santino and Vaughn spoke, Jarvien noticed Kenny’s trance brought by raging
teenage hormones.

“Calm down girl.” Jarvien said as he gently took Kenny’s hand and led her to the
back seat of the car where they both sat and strapped in.
Vaughn took out a gadget known as the Phoenix Engine, that he himself had created.
The Phoenix Engine resembled a gun and was able to reverse damages done to buildings and
other large objects.

Carefully, he held the device and aimed it towards the rubble in the room. Its maw, a
swirling vortex of sparkling purple light, pulsed with kinetic potential. Kenny could feel the
air vibrate around her, the very molecules of the broken structure resonating with the
Engine’s rhythm. A single, sharp pull on the trigger.

The world erupted in a blinding flash of sapphire. The Phoenix Engine unleashed a
torrent of kinetic energy, a wave of pure potential washing over the wreckage. Time seemed
to slow, each molecule in the room was caught in the Engine’s grip, its trajectory rewritten.
Twisted beams straightened, shattered concrete fused back together, and molten steel
solidified in mid-drip. The air crackled with the hum of reality rewinding. Kenny’s room
reassembled itself like a film played in reverse.

As the light subsided, Kenny watched, breathless, her room was brought back to
order. It wasn't just a feat of engineering, it was a defiance of entropy, a victory of order over
chaos. The Phoenix Engine, Vaughn’s weapon of creation in disguise, managed to reverse the
damage done to her room.

“He’s so smart.” Kenny thought to herself as she watched Vaughn get back into the
car.

“Girl, stop simping so hard.” Jarvien whispered to Kenny.

“You’re simping too.” Kenny replied.

Jarvien blushed, his cheeks turned pink as he looked at Santino.

“Why are we such simps?” Jarvien whispered to Kenny.

“Because we’re twinks.” Kenny replied and giggled.

“No, I’m a twink, you’re a switch.” Jarvien corrected her.

The two teenagers burst out laughing at their own silliness.

Vaughn turned the key and started the engine as Santino looked at the map o the
milky way galaxy.
The roof of Kenny’s room split, revealing the evening sky that was starting to sparkle
with twinkling stars. Santino pressed a control that made the car invisible. Up into the sky
they flew. In the distance, up in the air, towards an enchanting breeze.

“From my analysis, the safest place to hide you two would be the Ceres Asteroid.”
Vaughn said.

“The place where the Intergalactic Asteroid is?” Kenny asked, puzzled.

“Exactly.” Vaughn replied.

“With the chimeras?” Kenny asked, alarmed at the thought of hiding in the habitat of
a regressed species.

“I don’t know about you, but I ain’t chilling with no chimeras.” Jarvien said. “Take
me some place fancy. Like a seven-star hotel.”

“Jarvien, if we hide you in a seven-star hotel, then they’ll find you and kill you.”
Santino said.

“Then at least I’ll die pretty and pampered.” Jarvien replied.

Santino chuckled fondly.

Kenny’s hand instinctively pressed against the glass of the car’s panoramic
windshield. The city below wasn't just a sprawl of lights; it was a living, breathing canvas, a
masterpiece painted in neon and chrome. Towering skyscrapers, their sides adorned with
holographic advertisements that shimmered like scales in the rain-slicked night, pierced the
purple-streaked heavens.

The car soared through the aerial lanes, a sleek silver fish navigating a neon river.
Below, the pulse of the city thrummed like a heartbeat. Hovercars zipped like fireflies, their
undercarriages painting the rain-kissed streets with streaks of light. Above, the monorails,
sleek silver serpents, slithered between the towers.

But it was the sky that truly stole Kenny's breath. The sun had painted the clouds in
shades of lavender and rose. A single streak of gold, like a celestial brushstroke, arced across
the canvas.
Kenny leaned closer. Her nose pressed against the cool glass. In that moment, the city
wasn't just a collection of buildings and lights; it was a living entity, pulsing with life and
energy. It was a testament to human ingenuity, a beacon of hope against the vast emptiness of
space. And Kenny, suspended amidst it all, felt a surge of belonging, a connection to
something far greater than herself. From the corner of her eye, Kenny caught a glimpse of
Vaughn staring at her. She felt the heat rising in her body. A comforting warmth of safety
engulfed her as she looked outside at the sky highway. The motor cars on the sky highway
were not flying cars, but they rushed with the speed and urgency of lying cars as they hurried
to get from one end of the island to another. Kenny admired how the glistening highway
glittered with neon lights that accentuated the city below. The sparkles touched Kenny’s heart
and made her appreciate being human.

However, the beautiful moment was interrupted when a plethora of laser bullets
blasted their way. The four teenagers urgently looked behind and spotted a hovering
battleship closing in on them. The spiky silver battleship was far larger than their flying car.
As soon as it made impact with them, it sent them spiralling into a spinning frenzy. The car
swirled and turned as the four teenagers screamed.

“Kenny! Get the wheel!” Jarvien yelled. He had fully witnessed Kenny’s space
navigation skills in the past, and he was sure that she could get them out of the sticky
situation they were in.

Kenny jumped into the front seat and sat on Vaughn’s lap. Quickly, she took control
of the wheel. She gripped it hard and stepped on the aerial break. The car stabilised in the air
and shot forward. Kenny put her best racing skills to use. The speed at which the car shot
forward was astronomical. Next thing they knew, they were hovering slightly above Earth’s
orbit. Kenny pressed the button control labelled ‘space navigation’. Immediately, the car
adjusted, shifting its external body and internal atmosphere for space travel.

Kenny's knuckles were white where they gripped the Zephyr's control yoke. Sweat
prickled her hairline despite the air conditioner whirring full blast. Below, the neon tapestry
of New Shanghai blurred as they banked hard, the city lights smearing into streaks of colour.
In their rearview mirror, the sleek onyx predator pursued them, its twin thrusters spitting
crimson flame like an enraged dragon.

“Kenny, you better not let us die now.” Jarvien said.

“Don’t worry. I’ve got this.” Kenny said as she blasted the car forward.
"They're gaining on us, Ken!" yelled Jarvien, his voice raw with adrenaline. Their old
Zephyr, a patchwork of lovingly maintained upgrades, strained against the relentless pursuit.
They were outgunned, outmanoeuvred, and flying on fumes.

"I know!" Kenny shot back. Eyes glued to the holographic traffic map pulsing on the
windshield. She scanned for escape routes, her mind racing faster than the Zephyr's engine.
Every avenue seemed blocked by crimson markers – Interceptor patrol drones, summoned by
their pursuers.

Suddenly, her gaze caught a miscellaneous sky-tunnel that appeared ahead of them. It
was a tight squeeze, a forgotten artery choked with grime and shadow, but it offered a slim
chance of evading the Interceptor net.

"Listen. If anyone in this flying car has light sickness, then this would be a good time
to grab a barf bag.” Kenny said as she changed the gear to ‘wormhole mode’.

"Hold on, guys!" she shouted, throwing the Zephyr into a dive. The city below tilted
on its side, buildings looming like giant, distorted teeth. The pursuing spaceship’s engine
roared behind them, its pilot, a cruel silhouette with glowing cybernetic eyes, relishing the
chase.

The energy within the wormhole was massive and strong, with a persistent
gravitational pool that seemed to direct them to a specific destination.

“Kenny, did you materialize this wormhole?” Vaughn asked.

“No! I don’t know where it came from! I just shot into it to escape from those bad
guys.” Kenny replied.

“Ahh! Man! Kenny! What did we agree about flying into mysterious wormholes? We
almost dies the last time!” Jarvien complained.

“Does it look like I had a choice?” Kenny rhetorically asked.

“Does anybody else have any bright ideas?” Santino asked.

However, before any of them could answer, the car spiralled into an open space.

The Nebulae Arcana, also known as the solar nebula, shimmered, its tendrils of
emerald, amethyst, and pearl swirling like cosmic silk. But woven into the celestial tapestry
was a wonder of a different sort - a racetrack of impossible elegance. Arcing across the
nebula's heart, it was designed in the forgotten tongue of Atlantis, its gleaming white lines
etched with glyphs that hummed with forgotten power. Towers of black obsidian, mirroring
the basalt pillars of Solomon's temple, rose on either side, their mirrored surfaces reflecting
the nebula's ever-shifting hues. The track itself, a colossal chessboard checkered in stark
black and white, pulsed with an inner light, beckoning racers to a game not of pawns and
kings, but of sleek, silver ships built for speeds that kissed the fabric of time. This was no
earthly circuit, but a celestial arena where the victors danced with the stars themselves.

The air shimmered with an ethereal luminescence, painting the atmosphere in hues of
cotton candy and sweet rose. Rows upon rows of marble seats, sculpted by the hand of some
celestial artisan, gleamed with an otherworldly sheen.

Each seat possessed its own extravagance, was sculpted from a single block of
moonstone, its surface polished to a flawless mirror. But the true sorcery lay in the diamond
dust that had been woven into the moonstone's very fabric. Tiny shards, like a million
captured stars, pulsed with an inner light, casting the amphitheater in a perpetual twilight.
The colors, ah, the colors! They danced and shimmered, defying language with their
vibrancy. A blush of rose kissed the edges, deepening to a rich, regal amethyst in the heart,
before bleeding back into the pearlescent sheen of the moonstone. It was a symphony of light,
whispering tales of forgotten heavens and mythical Edens.

And then, there was the music. As if summoned by the very beauty that surrounded
them, golden harps materialized in the air, their strings shimmering like spun moonlight.
Unseen hands, guided by some celestial whim, wove melodies that spoke of starlight and
whispered secrets. The music, ethereal and light, danced on the breeze, weaving itself around
every sigh, every stolen glance, every whispered word. It was a symphony of the soul, a
serenade to the nascent love blooming in the hearts of those gathered.

The four teenagers got up and marvelled at the crystalline atmosphere that surrounded
them.

However, what really caught Kenny's attention were the seven spectators who sat on a
hovering golden disk within the VIP section of the Nebulae Arcana. They all wore black suits
and ties, with slicked back ponytails. The seven spectators were all ladies who looked to be
approaching their forties. One of them had bronze skin and platinum hair. Her mouth was
downturned, revealing wrinkles from years of pouting due to disappointments. The platinum
haired lady was extremely beauty. Her beauty had a seriousness to it, with a sharp jaw and
angular features.

Another lady had untamed fiery red hair, glowing caramel skin was untamed and
frizzy, with an optimistic and youthful expression. The red-haired lady appeared to be a lucky
winner and achiever, for she radiated exuberant optimism. Her thick red unruly red hair
looked like it floated behind her. She looked like a hero of the sun. Ken-Yah appreciated her
warmth and rawness.

Next to the red-haired lady was a chocolate skinned lady with dark brown ebony skin.
She was slim and toned, just like the other spectators. But unlike the other ladies, she turned
her face towards Ken-Yah and looked directly at her. Kenny felt the goosebumps on her skin
stand on edge as she looked at the chocolate skinned lady. The chocolate skinned lady took
off her sunglasses, revealing glistening purple eyes that were identical to Kenny's. She and
Kenny looked at each other keenly. Kenny could not explain what she felt. It was an old
sensation. She tilted her head as she looked at the lady identical to her. Jarvien stood next to
Kenny, equally marvelled by the dark-skinned, purple-eyed lady.

“Kenny.” Jarvien said, “She’s…”

“Like an older version of me, I know.” Kenny completed for Jarvien.

“Okay, time out. Cut.” Santino said, bringing the attention back to him, and the fact
that they had just flown through a wormhole into a nebula. “Can somebody explain to me
where the hell we are?” He asked.

“You!” An odd bellowing voice came from behind them so suddenly that it made
Kenny and Jarvien jump in shock. The teenagers looked in the direction of the voice and saw
a man wearing a golden helmet, flying to them on a hoverboard. His helmet was a three-
dimensional septagon that neatly matched a shiny black over coat and outfit that resembled
combat gear. “Are in the Nebulae Arcana. Also known as the Solar Nebula!”

“How are we in the Solar Nebula when it existed almost 4.6 billion years ago? It’s the
gas cloud that created our solar system.” Kenny said.

“Precisely, young one. Welcome, to the birth of Earth’s sun!” The man dramatically
said and pointed to a glorious revelation unfolding before them.
A colossal cosmic canvas occurred miles ahead of them, awash in the primal chaos of
creation. The birthing chamber of the Sun, the solar nebula, swirled in a maelstrom of
hydrogen and helium, a ballet of emerald and sapphire dust sculpted by the invisible hand of
something much greater.

The stellar babe, barely a newborn in the cosmic calendar, shined with an enchanting
brilliance. Its fiery heart, churned with unimaginable pressures and radiated a molten gold
that bathed the nebula in a life-giving warmth. Around it, pink cosmic clouds, infused with
the young star's energy, pulsed with a nascent vibrancy, hinting at the symphony of planets
and moons yet to be born.

It was a scene of untamed beauty, a celestial waltz of chaos and order, destruction,
and creation. The raw power of the newborn Sun, a furnace birthing star, resonated through
the void, a primal lullaby sung in the language of cosmic fire. Behold, the first brushstroke on
a masterpiece destined to span billions of years.

“The type of time travel technology to travel 4.6 billion years has not yet been
invented. How is this possible?” Santino asked.

The man in a golden helmet gracefully pointed to the seven ladies who sat in the
golden disk. Golden goblets containing rich red fluid materialised on the golden tables in
front of each woman. They picked up the golden goblets in synchrony and sipped the red
drink.

Kenny’s purple eyes glistened as she looked at the women. For an instance, she went
silent. Mystery engulfed both her and the ladies. Vaguely, she began to hear an angelic choir
play. An otherworldly essence momentarily took over her.

‘Who are they?’ was the question Kenny wanted to ask. However, that question was
answered by an unseen source.

“I’m guessing they…” Kenny spoke in a dream-like state. “Are the Goddesses of The
Cosmos.”

“Correct.” The man in a golden helmet said. “Some are Titans, some are
Necromancers.” He paused briefly before he spoke again. “But they al, are reweaves of The
Cosmos. Daughters of the Egyptian Goddess Neith. The seven star-sisters. The Pleiades.”
“The seven star-seeds. They were just ordinary girls when they defeated a tyrannical
Titan who wanted to destroy humanity.” Kenny said as she remembered the story that had
fascinated her as a child. The story that she had often fallen asleep to. The story that she had
always daydreamed about. The bravery of the Pleiades inspired Kenny since she was a little
girl. And finally, there she was, face to face with the powerful legendary cosmic heroines.

“The tyrannical titan, also known as the most handsome and powerful man in The
Cosmos, chased after them because he was captivated by their unique genetic qualities. He
wanted to make them part of his army at all costs.” Jarvien added.

“They can manipulate time better than any machine that humans will ever invent.”
Kenny figured out.

“Correct. It is they that summoned you here.” The man said. “They have a special task
for you.”

“A special task for us? Why us?” Kenny asked.

Suddenly, the man in a golden helmet snapped his fingers. In an instant, the enemy
spaceship that had pursued Kenny and her friend materialised in the lane next to them.
Kenny, Jarvien, Santino, and Vaughn wasted no time in pulling out their guns and pointing
them towards the spaceship.

"Back up." Vaughn said as he prepared to pull the trigger of his gun. his pale skin
showed signs of tension. His blue eyes, hidden behind his golden locks, held a deep
determination to protect the one he loved.

Santino pressed a button on his watch and a pair of iron fists materialised around his
palms. He punched his fists together, releasing a powerful shockwave that reverberated
through the atmosphere.

Jarvien closed his eyes momentarily. When he opened them, they were glowing silver
with quantum energy harnessed from the surrounding. They were ready to battle their
pursuers.

Kenny's heart hammered against her ribs like a trapped hummingbird. Her breath
escaped in ragged gasps, each one tasting like fear and ozone.
There they were. The quartet of nightmares that had been chasing them. Felix, Mad
Man Felix, they called him, a tangle of blonde hair and manic grin, steered the rusted
freighter with the casual arrogance of a king surveying his domain. Beside him, Belatronica,
his self-proclaimed "right-hand-lady-of-mayhem," cackled like a hyena on a sugar rush, her
mismatched eyes flashing with unhinged glee. In the back, Yunah, a paradox of pigtails and
lab coat, hunched over a glowing console, her brow furrowed in concentration, an anomaly in
Felix’s band of chaos. And then there was Hounddog, a mountain of muscle sculpted from
pure rage, his face a roadmap of past brawls, his eyes glinting with a feral hunger.

“Settle down! Hyperactive teenagers of Earth! Your opponents over there do not want
to fight you.” The golden helmet man said.

Jarvien, Kenny, Santino and Vaughn looked at each other in confusion.

“Well then, why are we over here, and not back on Earth eating sushi or something?”
Kenny asked.

The golden helmet man snapped his finger, and an orchestral tune began to play by
the flying golden instruments in the air.

The platinum haired woman stood up. Her skin, the colour of sun-baked earth, was
taut and smooth, a canvas that bore the marks of countless adventures. The harsh radiation of
a thousand star-systems had kissed her bronze skin, leaving behind a permanent tan, almost a
ruddy red in the nebula's glow. She was a woman sculpted by the cosmos, her beauty both
delicate and fierce, like a desert rose blooming against a backdrop of endless sky.

“A dangerous weapon has gone rogue. One of you juvenile groups seems to be in
possession of a weapon known as the Quantum Transcender. You see, the Quantum
Transcender has the power to destroy the entire cosmos. Therefore, we must destroy it
immediately. Give it to us. Or we shall kill you all.” The platinum haired woman said. The
red-haired woman next to her casually showed a deadly bow and arrow that had materialised
next to her.

“It’s not us, I swear! It’s them!” Kenny raised her hands in protest and pointed to
Felix’s team.

“No.” Felix said sternly in a deep voice. “We’re going after you because you posses
the Quantum Transcender. And we need it to heal Bellatronica, who’s about to die. We heard
it’s got quantum healing powers. And Yunah’s tracking technology led us to you. So, give it
to us so that we can save my friends life and then we’ll give it back to you. Or these
miscellaneous star ladies.”

“We are not miscellaneous star ladies. We are queens.” The purple eyed woman said,
making Kenny chuckle momentarily. She noticed Kenny’s chuckle and winked at her.

“Sure. Whatever you say.” Felix said sarcastically before he turned to Kenny and her
group. “Just give us the Quantum Transcender. We know you have it.”

“We don’t!” Jarvien said.

“There is only one way to settle this.” The purple eyed lady said.

“The Quantum Transcender ignites automatically when a high kinetic speed is

reached. We will have you two groups race. And which ever group’s speed ignites the
Quantum Transcender, is the group we are looking for.” The platinum haired lady said.

“Got it.” Kenny said.

“Got it.” Vaughn added in determination, earning a smile from Kenny.

"What if none of our teams has the Quantum Transcender?" Jarvien asked.

"Then both your teams will die. We can't risk word of this getting out "The red-haired
woman replied, leaving all eight teenagers in shock.

“Get ready.” The platinum haired woman said. “Your race begins in ten seconds. It
would be important to know that this is a life-or-death situation. But then again, from our
experience, teenagers do not care about their lives.” Her comment earned chuckle from
Santino. That caught Jarvien’s attention.

“So, you think she’s funny, do you?” Jarvien asked Santino.

“Oh God, no. Not at all.” Santino replied.

“Get in your cars.” The platinum haired lady commanded. “The race begins in ten
seconds.”

“Kenny! You’re great at racing! You should pilot!” Jarvien said with enthusiasm.
Kenny’s group and Felix’s group eyed each other. Kenny frowned. She was
determined to prove that her and her friends were not in the position of the Quantum
Transcender. She would beat them, earn first place, and prove that one, she was superior
space racer to Felix and his group by outracing them. Afterwards, she would prove that she
and her friends were innocent and didn’t have the Quantum Transcender.

“Are we using the Zephyr?” Jarvien asked Kenny.

“No.” Kenny replied. “We’re using this bad b…” Kenny said.

She then pressed a button on her watch and materialised a space racing car in front of
her.

The Lightning Siren wasn't just a space racing car a car, it was a comet tamed. Kenny
had designed it by herself, with the help of Jarvien and Santino two years before. Its
elongated chassis, crafted from spun stardust and woven with veins of neon, crackled with
anticipation. The engine, nestled like a star's heart in its core, hummed a lullaby of galactic
combustion. Plasma, ripped from the fabric of space itself, pulsed through its arteries,
lighting the engine in an ethereal cerulean glow. This wasn't your run-of-the-mill fuel mix;
this was the raw breath of the cosmos, channelled into a symphony of speed. When the
starting signal flared, the Lightning Siren wouldn't roar - it would unleash a sort of mini-
supernova, leaving behind a trail of stardust in its wake. What was about to unfold wasn't just
a race. It was a celestial ballet, danced on the edge of cosmic renaissance.

Anticipation crackled thicker than ozone in the air. Engines, fire-breathing leviathans
nestled within sleek hulls, whined, and thrummed with impatience. Each one, a finely tuned
symphony of combustion and plasma, sang its own battle cry. Kenny's Lightning Siren, a
predator poised on the starting line, gurgled like a molten river, its twin fusion cores
thrumming a bassline that vibrated in her bones. Across the track, Felix's Cosmic Casanova, a
chrome monstrosity built for both speed and showmanship, unleashed a guttural roar that
rattled the very fabric of the holographic sky. It was a chorus of mechanical beasts, each
yearning to be unleashed, to devour the asphalt and leave scorch marks on the fabric of
reality itself.

A virtual timer materialised in front of the racers. The young sun disappeared,
replaced by a highly technological racing track.
Neon arteries thrummed across an obsidian void, pulsating with the lifeblood of a
thousand races. This wasn't your daddy's racetrack, oh no. This was Solar Circuit 7, a
celestial serpent coiling around the present-day Sun of Earth, its metallic scales shimmering
with a million captured sunbeams.

Towering holographic palm trees, their fronds dripping with bioluminescent coconuts,
swayed languidly to the throbbing bass emanating from hidden subwoofers. Graffiti murals
blazed across the track's obsidian underbelly, depicting chrome-plated space jockeys and
their fire-breathing steeds locked in eternal competition. The air crackled with an electric
tang, a cocktail of ozone and hyper-fuel exhaust that set nostrils twitching and hearts
pounding.

Kenny, her thick-dark hair a coal comet's tail in the swirling neon, adjusted her neural
interface. Across the track, Felix, his face a canvas of cybernetic tattoos, grinned from the
cockpit of his custom-built Cosmic Casanova, its engine purring like a caged supernova. The
tension was thicker than the bioluminescent slime dripping from the holographic palm trees.

With a holographic countdown crackling in the air, the engines roared to life. Kenny
felt the neural interface meld with her mind, the Lightning Siren becoming an extension of
her will. The obsidian track blurred, a kaleidoscope of neon and chrome. Laser barriers
materialized, spitting sparks as racers weaved through them in a high-speed ballet. Felix, ever
the daredevil, skimmed the edge of a holographic black hole, his Cosmic Casanova leaving a
trail of stardust in its wake.

The race was a symphony of light and sound. Space racing vessels, sleek and lethal,
dipped and soared, their undercarriages pulsing with anti-gravity thrusters. Kenny pushed the
Lightning Siren’s limits, feeling the g-forces pin her to the bioluminescent seat. Suddenly, a
holographic billboard advertising "Zero-G Margaritas" exploded, showering the track in
shards of shattered pixels. Felix was in the blast zone, his Cosmic Casanova spinning, its
wings flailing like a wounded bird.

But Felix was no rookie. With a guttural laugh, he slammed his fist on the control
panel. The Cosmic Casanova shuddered, morphing into a sleek spaceship, its chrome body
bristling with plasma cannons. Kenny's eyes widened. She hadn't expected this.

"Lightning Siren, engage transformation protocols!" she gritted out, her voice a
whisper against the roar of engines. The cockpit dissolved, merging with her neural interface.
Kenny was no longer pilot, but part of the space racing car, her thoughts guiding its every
move. The Lightning Siren pulsed, its chrome morphing into a starfighter, angular and lethal.
Its twin plasma cannons hummed, hungry for a fight.

The celestial racetrack transformed from a solar nebula to a battlefield of blue fire and
holographic debris. Kenny and Felix duelled, their ships racing through the neon storm,
leaving trails of sparks and shattered dreams in their wake. The music, once a sweet
seduction, became a war cry, urging them on.

It was a battle in a cyberpunk dreamscape, fought with spaceships born from light and
code. And as the Lightning Siren and the Cosmic Casanova locked in a final, desperate
dance, the fate of Solar Circuit 7, the Quantum Transcender, and perhaps the entire celestial
ecosystem, hung in the balance.

Neon bled into the inky void as the racetrack shimmered to life. It wasn't just asphalt
anymore, but a holographic wonderland where laser grids pulsed in time to the throbbing bass
of Ellie Goulding's "Love Me Like You Do." Palm trees, rendered in pixelated perfection,
swayed to the synthwave beat, their fronds dripping with holographic coconuts. Hovering
billboards morphed, displaying impossible advertisements for chrome-plated spaceships and
anti-gravity cocktails. The racetrack became a portal to a neon dreamscape.

With a holographic countdown crackling in the air, the cars surged forward. Kenny
squeezed the neural interface, feeling the Siren become an extension of her will. The
racetrack blurred, a kaleidoscope of neon and chrome. Laser barriers materialized, spitting
sparks as the racers weaved through them. Felix, ever the showman, drifted his Casanova, its
wings deploying in a flash of chrome feathers, firing off holographic confetti that rained
down on the track.

The racetrack, once a playground of pixels, was now a battlefield of laser fire and
holographic debris. Kenny and Felix dueled, their ships weaving through the neon storm,
leaving trails of sparks and shattered dreams in their wake. The music, once a sweet
seduction, became a war cry, urging them on.

It was a race in a cybertronic dreamscape, fought with spaceships born from light and
code. And as the Siren and the Casanova locked in a final, desperate dance, the fate of the
neon racetrack, and the entire cosmos, hung in the balance.

The racetrack then elevated into a larger atmosphere of space. They were back in the
present-day solar system. Earth's present-day sun served as the fulcrum of the race's last
round. The racetrack wound itself around the sun. The two competing teams were more than
eager to win the race, and not only prove their superiority, but their innocence as well.

Kenny's car shot forward, nearing the speed of light. Beams of florescent purple neon
shot past them.

"What the hell is a Quantum Transcender anyway?" Kenny asked.

“It says here that the Quantum Transcender is a powerful weapon that has the power
to manipulate particles of matter such as atoms, molecules, neurons, and protons. Its power is
only outmatched by its ability to bend the very atomic particles that created our universe. If
placed in the wrong hands, the weapon could cause the end of The Cosmos as we know it.”
Vaughn said.

"Well, how in God's name could we have come across that?? I spend all day in my
room playing video games and trying to do my homework. Jarvien's always looking at
memes on his phone, Santino's always doing his scientific stuff and Vaughn's always in the
gym! How in God's name could we even be in possession of such a weapon?"

The car sped forward for a second, before Kenny yelled in alarm.

"Santino!" She yelled before she put the car into autopilot.

Reaching behind, she spoke urgently.

"You're the only scientist here! What if you got into possession of the Quantum
Transcender through a mix-up with one of your gadget suppliers?" She asked in alarm.

Vaughn wrapped his arms around Kenny's waist and pulled her back to the driver’s
seat.

“Calm down, firecracker.” He said.

“I don’t think so.” Santino replied. “I’m very careful with my trades.”

“If we don’t have the Quantum Transcender, and they don’t either, then that means
both our teams will be killed.” Kenny said in exasperation. “I’m too young to die.”

“I’m too handsome to die.” Vaughn said.

“Woah!” Kenny suddenly yelled when she looked into the rear-view mirror. “What
the hell is going on with Jarvien?” She asked.

Jarvien was pale. Beads of sweat dripped down his face. However, it was not his
paleness that caught Kenny's attention, but an electric spark that had begun to form around
him.

“Jarvien, are you okay?”

“Jarvien, are you okay?”

Santino and Vaughn asked consecutively.

"I think I'm feeling car sick. I think we're going too fast."

As soon as he spoke those words, Kenny's eyes widened. Suddenly, a cybertronic grid
appeared on the racetrack in front of them. Before Kenny could stop the car, she drove into
the cybertronic grid.

The force of the shift caused her to lose her balance momentarily. When she opened
her eyes, it was just her and Jarvien in a cyber void. They were surrounded by neon numbers
and pixels.

"Kenny, where are we?" Jarvien asked as he looked around.

“I don’t know.” Kenny replied. “A cybertronic grid showed up in the middle of the
racing track and somehow we ended up here.” Kenny replied.

Suddenly, a powerful sonic wave blasted through the cyber void. Images flashed
before Kenny and Jarvien’s eyes. Many of the images, they could recognise, for they were
recollections of all that had happened in humanity’s history. Monumental events, artworks,
political events, and even stages of evolution.

However, something strange happened. The images then turned into occurrences that
neither of them was familiar with. Until finally, one terrifyingly haunting image showcased in
the cyber matter right in front of them. The image was that of Planet Earth blowing up,
sometime in the future due to an otherworldy invasion. Before their eyes, images of their
friends dying flashed quickly. One image caused Jarvien to go into a panicked frenzy. It was
the image of himself dead. Knocked down by a speeding car as he crossed the road. A tear
rolled down Kenny’s cheek. Jarvien, overcome with emotion, screamed. “No!”
The quantum force emitted by his scream seemed to shatter the entire cyber void into
pixelated nothingness. Jarvien and Kenny found themselves falling through space and back
into the Lightning Siren.

“Woah!” Vaughn who was now in the driver’s seat remarked. “Where did you guys
go? You just disappeared into thin air.”

“We don’t know but look! We’re about to win!” Kenny said as she pointed at the
finish line ahead.

“Vaughn sped up and crossed the finish line. A bell rang and the teens got out of their
cars Felix’s team accepted their defeat while Kenny’s team celebrated.

Santino, Vaughn, and Jarvien celebrated. However, amidst the comrades’ tapestry of
celebrative reverie, Kenny felt a great burden within her intuition. A hunch within her mind
whispered ‘run, take your friends and run’. Vaughn noticed Kenny’s demeanour. His brows
were furrowed as he walked to her.

“Kenny, are you okay?” Vaughn asked her.

“No.” She replied.

“What’s wrong?” He asked.

“Jarvien is… The Quantum Transcender.” Kenny replied.

As soon as she spoke those words, a portal opened at the top of the racetrack, through
which the seven star-sisters flew. Kenny’s eyes became dark with a protective aura. She
frowned and walked right in front of the Pleiades.

"Move over child." The red-haired Pleiades said.

"He's my best friend."" Kenny said.

"His powers are too dangerous." The purple eyed lady said.

"I know, but so are yours." Kenny replied.

The purple eyed lady looked at Jarvien, who was celebrating with Santino in the
distance. Santino picked Jarvien up and twirled him around. Jarvien’s cheeks were rosy, his
nose was pink. His smile radiated pure glee and teenage effervescence.
“He’s just a boy.” The purple eyed woman contemplated.

“I still say we should kill him.” The red-haired lady said.

“This is one of the rare times that I agree with Sunny.” The platinum-haired lady said.

“Guys.” Kenny called out.

“We’re not guys. We are queens.” The Pleiades replied in unison.

“Jarvien doesn’t know that he’s the Quantum Transcender. No body knows. As long
as this is kept secret, there shall be no harm to the universe. And an innocent boy who’s done
nothing wrong won’t lose his life.” Kenny bargained.

The seven star-sisters looked at each other and nodded.

“Very well then.” The purple haired lady said. “The boy shall live. But you must
promise that none of this gets out. And, as his best-friend, you must watch over him and
make sure he understands the full intensity of his power when the right time comes.”

“I promise.” Kenny replied with an adorable and reassuring smile.

The purple-eyed woman smiled.

We are queens.” The Pleiades replied in unison.

make sure he understands the full intensity of his power when the right time comes.”

“I promise.” Kenny said with an adorable and reassuring smile.

As soon as she spoke those words, the purple eyed woman smiled endearingly at
Kenny. The creases at the corner of her eyes of freedom and problem solving. She lowered
her head a little bit to be at the same eye level as Kenny. Their purple eyes glistened as they
looked at each other. Kenny raised her eyebrows in curiosity when she saw a tear rolling
down the purple-eyed lady’s cheek.

“Thank you, Kenny.” The woman said with a gentle squeeze to Kenny’s little
shoulder. “I’m so proud of you, little one.” She added, her voice filled with emotion.

“Why would you be proud of me?” Kenny asked. “You just met me.”

“You’ll see when you grow up.” The purple-eyed lady replied as she gently touched
Kenny’s thick, jet-black hair.

“Your hair is so thick, dark, and gorgeous.” She said to Kenny. “And your chocolate
skin is your beautifully dark.”

“Thank you.” Kenny replied.

The purple-eyed woman then turned around after giving Kenny an endearing tap on
the head. Kenny vaguely heard her say to the other star sisters, “I told you she would figure it
out.”

A portal then opened in front of the Pleiades, into which they walked. Before the
portal closed, the purple-eyed lady looked behind and smiled at Kenny one more time.

“Keep going at light speed, you little firecracker.” She said to Kenny.

Kenny smiled and nodded while the portal closed. After the portal closed, Kenny
scrunched her eyebrow.
“Huh, I wonder if I know her from somewhere.” She said to herself before she turned
around and ran back to her friends.

Kenny sprinted across the solar track, heart pounding like a bass drum solo against
her ribs. Neon stripes blurred beneath her space racing boots, the cityscapes of Earth
twinkling like fallen stars in the indigo distance. Ahead of her, Jarvien's laugh ricocheted, a
joyous cannonball shattering the night.

Vaughn’s muscular silhouette pirouetted in the glow of distant neon signs. He

whooped and threw a moonwalk so smooth it seemed he might just defy gravity and orbit
around Kenny. Santino, the quiet one, calmly danced, his movements a slow, graceful poem
unfolding in the dust motes dancing in the track's purple radiance. Celebratory music played
along the solar highway. Even Felix and his team danced in the distance.

The kids bathed in borrowed moonlight, weaving immortal constellations with their
laughter, etching memories in the dust of dreams. As Kenny approached her friends, she
tripped and landed in a heap of giggles. Vaughn scooped her up and carried her, so she could
be at eye level with him, their bodies a flickering binary star against the velvet backdrop. The
explosion of the galactic fireworks in the distance was only matched by their pounding
hearts. Vaughn caressed Kenny’s cold cheek, and lightly placed a sweet kiss on her forehead.

“Hey, do you maybe wanna, go on a date sometime?” Vaughn asked.

“I’d love to.” Kenny replied.
