Product Manual

The LK-600 is a control valve and actuator system with compact structure, low pressure drop loss, easy to
debug and maintain. It is designed to control various process such as gases, steam and fluids.

The LK-600 is a sturdy, reliable, and easy-to-select control valve, and can choose anti-cavitation and anti-
noise valve cages, which can be used in harsh environments.

The LK-600 valve meets ANSI standards, and the connecting flange can be designed and manufactured
according to customer’s specified standards; it can provide and be equipped with a complete accessory
package, including intelligent positioners and accessories required by customers, such as explosion-proof
solenoid valves, explosion-proof limit switches, etc.

The LK-600 valve adopts the design of quick replacement of internal parts. It can change the flow coefficient
and flow characteristic curve online, which is convenient for installation and maintenance.

Installation
Precautions:
1. Before installing the valve, please make sure that there are no foreign objects in the valve body cavity. Clean all
pipelines to remove rust, welding slag and other foreign objects.
2. The control valve assembly can be installed in any place if it is not restricted by the seismic code. However, the
normal installation method is that the actuator is mounted vertical on the valve. The flow through the valve must
flow in the direction indicated by the arrow cast on the valve body.
3. When installing the valve in the pipeline, the recognized pipeline engineering practice should be followed. Use a
suitable gasket between the valve and the pipe flange.
4. If the process requires continued operation during inspection or maintenance, please install an isolation valve at
each end of the control valve and install a bypass valve to control the flow, while the control valve is under
maintenance.
Warning:
1. LiNK assumes no responsibility for the selection, use or maintenance of any products. The responsibility for
selecting, using and maintaining any LiNK product can only be borne by the buyer and the end user.
2. When performing any installation, always wear protective gloves, clothes and glasses to avoid personal injury. If
the operating conditions exceed the application conditions originally designed by the product, personnel injury or
equipment damage may occur due to the sudden release of pressure or the rupture of pressure-bearing parts. In order
to avoid personal injury or property damage, a relief valve for overpressure protection should be provided in
accordance with government requirements or recognized industrial codes and good engineering practices. Check
with your process or safety engineer whether any additional measures should be taken to avoid damage to the
process medium.
3. This valve is suitable for a specific range of pressure, temperature and
other application specifications. Different pressures and temperatures
to the valve may cause damage to parts, failure of the control valve, or
loss of control of the process. Do not use this product for operating
conditions or variables that were not originally intended to be used. If
you are not sure what these conditions are, please contact LiNK for
more complete specifications and provide the product serial number
(shown on the nameplate) and all other relevant information.
4. If you move or work on an actuator installed on the valve and loaded
with pressure, keep your hands and tools away from the stroke path of
the valve stem to avoid personal injury. When removing the valve stem
joint, please release all the loading force on the actuator, regardless of
whether the loading force is from the air pressure on the diaphragm or
the compression force of the actuator spring, special care should be
taken. If the valve is lifted, please be careful to prevent personal injury

5. in case the crane or rigging slips down. Be sure to use a lifting device of sufficient size and a chain or sling to load
and unload the valve.
6. The leakage of packing will cause personal injury. The valve packing should be tightened before shipment. However,
the packing may require some adjustment to meet specific operating conditions.

Maintenance
Warning:
Personnel injury or property damage caused by sudden release of process pressure or bursting of parts should be avoided.
Before performing any maintenance operations:

- When performing any installation operations, you should always wear protective gloves, clothes and glasses to avoid
personal injury.
- Any operating wires that provide air pressure, power, or control signals to the actuator should be cut off. Make sure that
the actuator cannot suddenly open or close the valve.
- A bypass valve should be used or the process should be completely shut off to disconnect the valve from the process
pressure. Relieve process pressure from both sides of the valve.
- It is necessary to control the loading pressure of the pneumatic actuator and the preload pressure of any actuator spring,
which depends on the structure of the actuator. The most important thing is to refer to the description of the actuator in
this manual to ensure that the actuator is safely removed from the valve.
- Locking methods should be used to ensure that the above measures remain effective while you are working on the
equipment.
- The valve packing may contain compressed process fluid, even when the valve has been removed from the pipeline.
Therefore, when the packing hardware or packing ring is removed, or when the packing chamber plug is loosened, the
process fluid may be sprayed out under pressure.
- Check with your process or safety engineer whether any additional measures should be taken to avoid damage to the
process medium.

Cautions:
Once the parts with gaskets are removed or moved so that the gasket sealing is affected, new gaskets should be installed
during reassembly, which will ensure excellent gasket sealing as used gaskets may not seal properly.

Actuator Maintenance
For the maintenance of the actuator, please refer to the figure below:

Direct Action
If you do not know the direction of action (air-to-open or air-to-close) of the actuator, please refer to the nameplate of the
actuator or the related specifications.

Disassembly (Air to open type, Reverse Action)

1. Connect an independent air source to the lower membrane cover through the air connection port on the valve bracket and
supply sufficient air pressure to lift the valve core/stem away from the valve seat, and lift to the middle stroke.
2. Remove the stem connecting nut, bolt and stroke pointer.
3. Push the spool down until it contacts the seat.
4. Loosen the bracket nut and remove it.
5. Cut off the air pressure and disconnect the independent air source to the lower membrane cover.
Warning:
In order to avoid personal injury or property damage, when you loosen and remove the hexagonal bolts
on the actuator, you must pay attention to the spring of the actuator is in a compressed state.
6. First remove the shorter bolts and nuts on the actuator diaphragm. Once these connectors have been removed from the
actuator assembly, carefully remove the longer hexagonal bolts and nuts on the actuator. When removing, alternating
between these connectors to gradually release the energy (compression force) of the spring.
7. Remove the upper diaphragm cover and actuator spring.
8. Replace the diaphragm, actuator rod bushing and actuator rod seal if necessary.

Disassembly (Air to valve open, Direct Action)

1. Remove the stem connecting nut, bolt and stroke pointer.
Warning:
In order to avoid personal injury or property damage, when you loosen and remove the hexagonal bolts
on the actuator, you must pay attention to the spring of the actuator is in a compressed state.
3. Remove the upper membrane cover.
4. Remove the actuator spring.
5. Replace the diaphragm, actuator rod bushing and actuator rod seal if necessary.

Packing Replace
Isolate the valve from the pipeline pressure, release the pressure on both sides of the valve body, and discharge the process
medium from both sides of the valve. Cut off all pressure lines to the actuator and release all pressure from the actuator. Use
a locking method to ensure that the above measures remain effective while you are working on the device.
1. Disassemble the actuator.
2. If there is no fluid leakage at the joint surface, loosen the packing cover twice or loosen the nut appropriately to release
the packing compression force.
3. Completely remove the valve body and carefully lift the actuator bracket and place it on a protected surface to prevent
damage. If the spool/stem parts have a tendency to rise together with the actuator bracket, make sure that the parts does
not fall off the actuator.
4. Remove the bonnet/stem parts and place it on a protected surface.
5. Remove the body cover gasket and cover the valve opening to protect the gasket surface and prevent foreign objects from
entering the valve cavity.
6. Remove the packing gland from the bonnet.
7. Remove the stuffing box from the bonnet. Using a rod or other tool that does not scratch the inner wall of the packing,
carefully push out the remaining parts from the bonnet. Clean the packing cavity and metal packing cavity parts.
8. Check the valve stem, thread and packing cavity surface for any sharp edges that may cut the packing. Scratches or burrs
can cause leakage in the packing cavity or damage the new packing. If the surface condition cannot be improved by
lightly sanding with sandpaper, the damaged parts should be replaced.
9. Carefully push the spool/stem into the bonnet.
10. Install new packing and metal parts.
11. Remove the covering that protects the inner cavity of the valve and install a new body cover gasket. Make sure that the
surface of the gasket seat is clean and smooth.
12. Install the valve cover, apply Nickel Never-Seez or equivalent grease to the threads, and tighten the nuts symmetrically.

Precautions for optional valve:

1. When equipped with a handwheel mechanism, the valve can be manually operated, and it can also be used to limit the
valve opening. When stopping use, the handwheel mechanism must be restored to the neutral position to facilitate the
normal operation of the automatic control system.
2. For high-temperature valves, grease should be injected into the packing part every three months.
3. For products with optional solenoid valves, limit switches and other accessories, special instructions are provided to
ensure that adjustments are made during use. The adjustment methods are carried out in accordance with the instructions.
If the correct operation cannot be performed, please contact local sales office.

Valve Trim Maintenance

1. Valve Trim Maintenance
The damage of the spool is generally due to the wear of the sealing surface;
For the wear of the sealing surface, if the wear is not very serious and the depth is less than 0.15mm, there is no need to
replace the valve seat, and you can directly grind it online.
2. Valve Seat and Valve Cage Maintenance
The valve seat and valve cage are easy to disassemble and can be removed for repaired or replacement.
If the flow hole of the valve cage is damaged and cannot be repaired, it must be replaced with new one.

Cautions
Be caution to avoid damaging the gasket sealing surface.
The surface finish of the valve stem is a key factor in achieving an excellent packing seal.
The tight sealing between the seat and the valve core is the decisive factor, so it should be handled carefully and protected
appropriately.

Notice !!! For Special Use

1. When valve selected with handwheel, you can hand-operate with valve, and also can limit valve open stroke. You should
turn back to position of the gears, in order to keep the auto system (DCS) running in normal.
2. For high temperature valve, you should inject lubricating grease every 3 month.
3. For valve selected with solenoid valve, limit switch, and etc acc., LiNK supply with special manual, in order to adjust
the valve in using, and adjust method are in the manual. If you can not handle it right, please contact with LiNK local
sales department.
