the week and students can only participate in Fun Friday if they have turned in all their homework
for the week. I love how you comment on the fact that non-completed homework is more a symptom

establishing responsibility and continuing communication. Simply type each students name on a
homework club button. By fifth grade I am trying to teach my students that it is their responsibility

I tried a punch card this past year, but it didn't work for me. This policy is in accordance with state

they complete all of their homework for an entire month, they become an OFFICIAL MEMBER of
the homework club for that month. However, I also believe that we have to teach our students to
succeed in spite of things they may be facing at home and an easy way we can do that is to

already do. I haven't ever done anything very thrilling as a homework incentive. I really don't make a
big deal if it is an occasional slip. Students will LOVE the idea of being part of a club and will work
hard to complete their homework in an effort to stay in it. I post the picture in the room and at the
end of the year we raffle off the pictures. BUT, I do hold them accountable and try to develop that
responsibility and pride in a job well done. If it doesn't come back the next day, the student must take
an extra from my extra box to do during recess or at home depending on the assignment. This pack
