any-some
The general rule is that any is used for questions and negatives while some is used for
positive. Both may be used with countable and uncountable nouns.
Some: is used with countable nouns or uncountable nouns in affirmative
sentences. Not with singular countable.

There are some vegetables
Any: is used in countable nouns and uncountable nouns in negative and
interrogative statements
NEGATIVE FORM
There isn't any bread
There aren't any fruits
INTERROGATIVE FORM
Is there any water?
Are there any apples?
