Activity 2 - Categorizing Tropical Cyclones
Tropical cyclones can be categorized based on the speed of their circulating winds. When.
the circulating wind has a speed of less than 60 kmv/hr., a tropical depression develops. If the
wind speed increases beyond 60 to 118km/hr., ‘the depression becomes a tropical storm. If the
wind speed increases to 200 km/hr, the tropical storm becomes a typhoon. And if the maximum
circulating wind is greater than 200km/hr., then the typhoon becomes a super typhoon.
Based on the information above, construct a concept map showing the categories of a tropical
cyclone. Refer from the words or phrases given in the box.
