CASE ANALYSIS OF ROBIN HOOD

I. Situational Analysis
The legend of Robin Hood emerged on the 12 th century of the English period. The reality
of his identity remained a mystery that created various of theories questioning his nobility. He
was known for his reputation as a skilled archer, a charismatic leader and a champion of a
downtrodden.
Robin Hoods band has played a great role in his legend playing different roles and
showing different qualities and skills that brought them to success. Robin Hoods mission
involved stealing from corrupt officials and wealthy nobles with the intent of sharing it to the
poor. This served as a resistance of the unjust taxation system that occurred in the era. This
story has been a testament of justice and heroism to rebel against the tyrants.
II. Identification of the Problem (Opportunity)
Robin Hood’s intention has involved into a discussion of justice and rebellion that has
inspired others to seek and stand for justice and equality. Despite the negativity of and the true
nature of robbing, the call for fairness and justice to the poor has rules over. His act of stealing
may be justified as criminal act but on the other hand people looked through more to its
attention and affect to the people who benefited from Robin Hood’s action.
In today’s world, Robin Hood has still been a quite interesting discussion. His story
evolved around many generations that started questions and disagreements. People have been
questioning Robin Hood’s actions toward his seeking of justice. Some may have seen the good in
his robbing but some has morally corrected and questioned Robin Hood.
III. Development of Strategic Alternatives
In this very controversial topic and in this reasonable act of Robin Hood there is still an
alternative in seeking justice. Robin Hood could have fought against the rulers to make things
fair and give consequences to those who corrupted and implemented their taxation system.
There could have been a justified way of seeking vengeance and correcting misconduct but
Robin Hood has chosen the act of robbing.
IV. Evaluation of the Strategic Alternatives
The possibility of fighting for correction could have been another alternative because it
has been proved by many that justice could still prevail without compromising the right. There is
more to give if it has been fought in a way that others cannot correct. This is the cause why
people are triggered in questioning Robin Hood’s Actions because there is more to do than
creating another criminal act.
 V. Recommendations
In this discussion, there could be more research of understanding real justice and truth
of what happened in the time of Robin Hood. This could create a greater opportunity to seek for
more of undiscussed situations in the timeline to truly understand and answer the questions
that the story of Robin Hood has created.
This could justify the fact that most people believed that Robin Hood is still a hero. Robin
Hood has shown that if other people can gain wealth in unjustified way, he also could do the
same to make things right. He may have been a real legend of robbery but he has also mirrored
a man of real justice and favor to people who are in need.
