ENGLISH 1 SYLLABUS

1. Course Overview
English Module I is the first of four required modules of the English program for Banking
Academy's non-specialized students. It is designed to help students attain level 2 of the 6-level
Foreign Language competency framework based on Circular 01/2014/TT-BGDT. The module
assists students in developing all four skills: listening, speaking, reading, and writing.
Furthermore, students will improve their vocabulary and strengthen their grammar through a
variety of topics and types of exercises, thereby better supporting the use of the English language
in learning, practice, and life.
2. Course Objective: At the end of the course, students are capable of
• forming groups, identifying members' roles, and planning group activities on a basic level in
order to solve a situation in everyday life in English.
• identifying the main content and details in monologues and short conversations on simple and
everyday topics.
• using simple and relatively accurate vocabulary, grammatical structures, and communication
strategies to talk about themselves and discuss everyday communication situations.
• identifying main ideas and details in short texts/readings with relatively understandable
vocabulary and expressions on commonplace topics.
