SEMINAR TOPIC: CONCEPT OF FAMILY PLANNING
SUPERVISOR: DR IGHERE JACOB
ABSTRACT
Family planning is the decision-making process by couples, together or
individually, on the number of children that they would like to have in their
lifetime, and the age interval between children. This means that both halves of a
couple have equal rights to decide on their future fertility. Family planning (birth
control) prevents pregnancy by interfering with the normal process of ovulation,
fertilization, and implantation. There are different kinds of birth control that act at
different points in the process. Selecting which type of birth control to use can be
very confusing. From birth control pills to birth control implants, there are many
options to choose from. It helps to start by answering a few basic questions.
