Introduction

This is an individual assignment which require me to explain the rationale of Judicial

Administration System.

Judicial Administration System

Judicial administration consist of the practices procedures and offices that deals with the
management of the system of the court. Judicial Administration deals with;-

-overseeing budgets

-Assigning Judges to cases

-Creating court calendar of activities

-Supervising non-judicial personnel

Obviously court administration in common law jurisdiction is not something new. For
as long as there have been courts they have been administered by someone, either by judges
themselves or by officials attached to the court. While rarely, it ever has the administration of the
court have been held up as a model to be emulated by other government departments1.

Court administrator are responsible for:-

-Eliminating racial and gender bias in the courts.

-Ensuring diversity in the court system

-providing easier access to the court for persons representing themselves without
an advocate2.

The following are the rationale of having court administration system

It help for a well-defined governance structure for policy formulation and administration
for entire court system3

 This means that once we have court administration system now the policy concerning
judiciary are well formulated so that to lead the entire process of delivering justice to the people

It help to provide an efficient balance of workload among judicial officers and court staff4

As we see earlier one among the responsibilities of judicial administration is to assign

cases to the judges, so without the judicial administration system means the work of the court
goes slowly differently that now when there is court administration system.

Through judicial administration system, court system are well organized and help to
minimize the complexities and redundancies in court structures

When there is someone who control another in performing the task of a certain thing it
easy for that work to be completed at short period of time, also judicial administration system
came to minimize the complexities and redundancies in court structure.

It help control over the legal process5

In any organization must be a someone who will control others so that to complete task
given at a particular time, this is one among the rationale of having judicial administration
system because it make easier control over all legal process.

It help the management control over all resources that support judicial services6

Judicial as an organ have different resources that support judicial services, so without
judicial administration system means those resources will be miss-used because there is no one
who responsible control it, but now we have judicial administration system so the resources
which support judicial system are well controlled.

It help on overseeing performance of judicial functions of the courts, including the giving of
direction and supervision over court sitting and the assignment of judicial duties

Section 25(1) of The Judicial Administration Act 7 provide one among the functions of
Chief Justice, as the head of the judicial is responsible on giving of direction and supervision
over court sitting and the assignment of judicial duties, also this is rationale of having court

administration system because without the person who overseeing those activities in judicial
sector will amount to hardness of activities of the courts.

Conclusion

Without prejudice what I explained above as the rationale of having court administration
system, it is important to have that court administration system because it makes easier for
activities of the court to be conducted well because there someone who monitor and control court
officers on their daily to daily while performing their duties.
