Project factsheet eco coo ege Gender Based Violence in Emergencies Programme for Rohingya and Host communities in Cox's Bazar PROJECT SNAPSHOT Background TIME FRAME ‘The program focuses on response, prevention and risk mitigation efforts to end all forms of violence in the Rohingya ‘SINCE 2017 ROHINGYA INFLUX camps and surrounding host communities in Cox's Bazar. According to incidence report, gender-based violence (GBV) remains a serious threat to Rohingya women and girls. Physical and sexual violence, emotional abuse, denial of resources, and IMPLEMENTING PARTNERS MUKTI COX'S BAZAR, GANA UNNAYAN KENDRA, INTERNATIONAL RESCUE forced marriage are among the primary forms of violence roan frequently reported. 85% of the cases were reported to be perpetrated by the intimate or former partner of the survivor OVERALL BUDGET (GBVIMS, 2021) $9,031,196 To address this widespread issue, UNFPA has been delivering comprehensive, coordinated and quality GBV response and prevention services through 38 Women Friendly Spaces and 10 Women-Led Community Centers. In addition, UNFPA leads the 65-member GBV Sub-Sector in Cox's Bazar, which designs evidence-based GBV programming through quality information management by national and international GBV experts Key results 38 Women Friendly Spaces (WFSs) are currently providing integrated GBV-SRHR services in the camps and host communities 675,307 women and girls have accessed services provided by the Women Friendly Spaces 250,297 people participated in GBV prevention and awareness activities 41 service points providing clinical management of rape established 25,999 people have accessed the services provided by the 10 established Women-Led Community Centres 60,000 face masks produced by Rohingya women in the Women-Led Community Centres and WFSs 10,837 IP staff and community members trained Bottlenecks Erevoncem GD CERE Porras ae Frequent turnover of trained and experienced staff Limited market for items produced by WLCC beneficiaries fh demand for lfe skills development against limited resources and space Repeated requests from CC to access GBV facilities and information on survivors.
