58th constitutional amendment 1987

Constitution mai amendment ki kya jarurat hai ?

We need amendment to tackle future problems and to adjust provisions that are inadequate,
to respond to new needs, including supplementing rights. Otherwise, the text of the
constitution cannot reflect social realities and political needs over time.
Hey everybody. I am ankit kumar. I am going to discuss about 58th amendment.
The 58th amendment of the constitution of India, officially known as the constitution (fifty-
eight amendment) act, 1987.
Ye 58th amendment 9th December 1987 ko enforce kiya gaya tha .
Ye amendment r venketaraman ke presidency mai lagu kiya kiya gaya tha .
AIYE JAANTE HAIN KYA THA 58TH AMENDMENT KA REASONS :-
First, the Constitution was published in the English language in 1950. A Hindi translation of
the Constitution was not published, so a resolution was passed by the constituent assembly
for a Hindi translation, and then one copy of the Hindi translation was published in 1950 in
accordance with the resolution. But after the passing of the resolution, the majority of the
copies were published in English. So it was necessary to publish the Hindi version of the
constitution. Therefore, It was proposed to amend the constitution so as to empower the
president of India to publish, under his authority, the translation of the constitution in Hindi
signed by the members of the constituent assembly. The president of India ensures that the
Hindi version of the constitution maintains the style and terminology of the constitution as
proposed by the central acts, and if he finds any inconsistency, he may change accordingly.
The Hindi and translated forms of the Constitution should hold the same meaning as the
original version.
AB DEKHTE HAI 58TH AMENDMENT NEI KYA CHANGES LAI HAIN:
The president is empowered to publish the translation in Hindi of every amendment to the
Constitution that is made in English. There was the insertion of new Article 394A after
Article 394 of the Constitution.
"394A. Authoritative text in the Hindi language.- (1) The President shall cause to be
published under his authority,-
(a) the translation of this Constitution in the Hindi language, signed by the members of the
Constituent Assembly, with such
modifications as may be necessary to bring it in conformity with the language, style and
terminology adopted in the authoritative texts of Central Acts in the Hindi language, and
incorporating therein all the amendments of this Constitution made before such publication.
(b) the translation in the Hindi language of every amendment of this Constitution
made in the English language.
(2)The translation of this Constitution and of every amendment thereof published
under clause (1) shall be construed to have the same meaning as the original thereof
and if any difficulty arises in so construing any part of such translation, the President
shall cause the same to be revised suitably.
(3) The translation of this Constitution and of every amendment thereof published
under this article shall be deemed to be, for all purposes, the authoritative text thereof
in the Hindi language.".
Article 1 of the English version of the constitution says, "India, that is, Bharat, shall be a
Union of States." It emphasizes India as the primary name, but after the commencement of
the 58th Amendment and the introduction of the Hindi version, it says, "Bharat artharth India,
rajyon ka sangh hoga." Here, bharat is given prominence.
After the commencement of the 58th Amendment, India followed the dual language
approach. India using both English and Hindi in official documents and diplomatic contexts.
Under the National emblem in letters of credence given by the President of India to
Ambassadors-designate, the words "Rashtrapati" and "Bharat Gantantra" are written in Hindi,
while the English equivalents, "President" and "Republic of India," are used underneath .It
shows India's approach to multilingualism and its diverse linguistic heritage.

CONCLUSION:
After the commencement of the 58th Amendment to the Constitution, it changed the way the
Constitution was written. Initially, the constitution was written in only English, but after the
commencement of the 58th Amendment, the provision to have a Hindi version of the
constitution came into force. Moreover, every subsequent amendment will be published in
both Hindi and English, and the Hindi language should hold the same sanity as English.
Also, Article 394 was amended into 394A.
