With DRIVE-CLiQ into the future!

What is DRIVE-CLiQ? DRIVE-CLiQ is the innovative, powerful communications medium for the real-time transmission of closed-loop control data of the SINAMICS drive components. DRIVE-CLiQ is an open drive-internal interface that permits the interconnection of components, even from different manufacturers. DRIVE-CLiQ couples SINUMERIK and SINAMICS with encoders in motors and direct measurement systems. DRIVE-CLiQ is the future-oriented communications interface in the drive area!

DRIVE-CLiQ - the powerful digital communications infrastructure DRIVE-CliQ is a consistent drive interface for the connection of direct and indirect measurement systems. The bandwidth, topology and scalability also provide potential for future further developments. Thanks to the consistent communications systems, DRIVE-CLiQ offers the following advantages: Reduction of the configuring effort Compact connection engineering in the cable trailing technique Simple and fast diagnosis Performance data (100 MBd) future-oriented for further expansion Openness of the encoder interface DRIVE-CLiQ allows the connection of encoders made by various manufacturers and so offers the choice for application-specific measurement systems. DRIVE-CLiQ opens possibilities for new machine concepts and provides the basis for future optimization potentials.

Particular advantages of DRIVE-CLiQ DRIVE-CLiQ allows distributed drive concepts with up to 100 m line length from NCU/CU to the motor module and to the measurement systems. The use of hubs simplifies the machine wiring and reduces costs. Up to five signal lines can be reduced to a single line. Electronic nameplates provide a unique identification of the components. The automatic recognition of the drive topology simplifies the commissioning. DRIVE-CLiQ allows a comprehensive diagnosis with the acquisition and replacement of system parameters. DRIVE-CLiQ is a highly-dynamic interface because position values are available in the secondary electronics after just 4.5 s.

When the current wiring engineering is used, 14 signal lines must be lead to the cabinet.

DRIVE-CLiQ reduces the number of signal lines to two.
