THE BEST OF TOMORROW

Epilogue: Episode 1

ETERNAL STORY

[#Potato pancake restaurant]

[Just come here.]

[Is Im Sol coming? Let me know when you get there. I'll pick you up.]

This was Sunjae's last message. I'm sure he had the mind to pick me up by this
time. Since when? What's been eaten away by alcohol?

In a small room with a floor mat, someone piled up tissues under a creaking table
as if one leg was worn out. Baek Inhyuk was sitting on his back against the wall
trying to connect the phone to Seo Yoonjae, who did not answer the phone, and Woo
Hyunsung looked at us indifferently while eating the torn potato pancake.

We, Sunjae and I. The first word he said as soon as I arrived here as I saw Sunjae
was "I'm drunk." Sunjae turned white instead of turning red when he drank. And when
he got drunk, he looked a little drowsy, but he blinked slowly and often became a
chin. That's exactly what Sunjae is like now. He put his chin on one hand and the
other hand down the table and kept holding my hand and wiggling.

"Oh, really. Why is he always like that when he's drunk?"

Woo Hyunsung kicked his tongue looking at Sunjae staring at my face. Then I quickly
grabbed the glass in front of me to raise it alone. Let's make a toast and drink
together, that's what it meant, but when I held hands with Sunjae and raised my cup
with my left hand, my form was a little sloppy.

"You don't have to drink with me."

"Ah, but cheers!"

Woo Hyunsung hits the glass pretending not to win.

"Yoonjae, why aren't you answering my call? Are you out of call? Huh? I did it
because I loved you, but I'm really going to be upset."

Baek Inhyuk sits crouching and makes a crying sound. In the end, Seo Yoonjae's
voice mailbox seems to have entered. He said he handled it a little before I came
here, but he didn't.

As soon as I put down the glass and frowned, Sunjae wiped the alcohol off my lips.
Apart from the soft touch of his fingers passing by after sweeping my lips, Woo
Hyunsung's face, which was hardening, bothered me.

"Sunjae, don't..."

As I tilted my head slightly and whispered, Sunjae stared at me with his chin
fixed. His eyes were wide open, and he looked as if he knew nothing.

"What?"
The innocent look made me speechless. What does he mean? He's sitting in front of
someone else and fiddling with his lover's body. When I put strength into my hand,
Sunjae frowns slightly, saying, "Ah, ah," without hurting.

"No, don't worry about me."

Woo Hyunsung waves his hand.

"It's not like he's always like that."

"That's the problem with drinking. I'm shy, too..."

Sunjae's gaze is fixed only on me as if he doesn't care who talks or doesn't. Hey,
what's wrong with him?...

"You're drunk."

When I said something small, Sunjae replied quietly, "Is that so?" My hands were
pulled toward Sunjae's body. Sunjae, who put my hand on his leg, smoothed my
fingers one by one. This was the first time that Sunjae's gaze, which had only been
embedded in my face, was directed elsewhere.

The touch of his finger was soft. Sunjae's gaze looking down is subtle. Sunjae's
hand started with his thumb and put it on my ring finger. I looked away as I saw
him carefully inspect each and every one of them.

"Did you fight with Yoonjae?"

I asked, looking at Baek Inhyuk, who put his cell phone down on the table. He takes
off his body leaning against the wall and pulls his butt close to the table,
nodding his head with a broken face.

"I had an important call, and I told them to hide their phones and look for them. I
didn't feel like accepting Yoonjae's joke today. But I didn't say anything. I just
said a few words. Does Yoonjae keep a straight face? I'm ashamed of myself. Come to
think of it, I'm in a totally unfair situation. You saw it earlier, right?"

"Yes, but you were a little straightforward earlier. Yoonjae has a soft-hearted
personally."

Woo Hyunsung said something else while nodding as if he was convinced. Baek Inhyuk
opens his mouth, saying, "Huh." He seemed disappointed that Woo Hyunsung, who was
at the scene, did not take his side.

As we were continuing the conversation, Sunjae suddenly raised my hand. As I turned

my head, I saw my hand heading toward Sunjae's face. Perhaps trying to kiss the
back of my hand, I was surprised at the slight bow of his head and pulled my hand
back. Fortunately, he didn't hold it tightly, so my hand fell out easily. Sunjae,
who missed my hand, looks at me with a wondering face.

There were parts where Sunjae and I agreed. I didn't like it when others held my
bag, which wasn't too heavy, but fortunately, Sunjae said, "I'll hold your bag!"
and it wasn't a type of installation. I also didn't like excessive physical contact
in public, and it was the same in front of our acquaintances. Obviously, Sunjae was
that type, but not now.

I was going to say, "Wake up!" but a corn flew in front of me. The corn hit
Sunjae's shoulder and fell. Woo Hyunsung belatedly opens his eyes wide.
"Oh, I'm sorry. My hands are in vain."

"Haha," I said awkwardly in Woo Hyunsung's mouth.

"You threw it on purpose."

Sunjae, who picked up the fallen corn, puts it on the table.

"I can't get used to it even though I know that Sunjae's drinking habit is you.
That's what ash looks like."

"That's what I'm saying. He's so cold-hearted. How can he look like that?"

Baek Inhyuk shakes his head with half-closed eyes. Originally, Sunjae had no
drinking habits, but he said he got it after meeting me. Since he was drunk, I knew
through Woo Hyunsung and Baek Inhyuk's testimony, but Sunjae's drinking habit was
to find me.

The habit was a little ambiguous, but there was nothing much to call a drinking
habit when he drank too much and lost his mind. But he said he was looking for me
when he was just in the middle of it. As it continued once, twice, it was
recognized as an official drinking habit.

I folded my arms so that he wouldn't take my hand again. Sunjae's lips looking at
me bend down a little. I tried to ignore the face. It's not that I don't like being
elected, but it was still awkward to express affection in front of others.

Sunjae picked up the snack in front of him. At that moment, Baek Inhyuk read the
message, saying, "Oh, Seo Yoonjae has replied." Before, he was panting by himself,
but now he has a slightly relaxed face. I was staring at it, and Sunjae pushed
chopsticks in front of me. Just now, the house was full of bar snacks with
chopsticks.

As soon as I closed my mouth and looked at him, he brought me a snack over my lips.
As soon as I opens my mouth, he throws snacks in my mouth and collects chopsticks.
What the hell is this?... When I closed my mouth and looked at it as if he was
absurd, Sunjae whispered quietly.

"You're a pretty good eater, aren't you."

There was a very brief silence in what Sunjae said, putting chopsticks on the
table. He whispered, but his voice was not so small. Woo Hyunsung looked like he
didn't know how to react, and he couldn't just like it, so he just smiled
awkwardly. Baek Inhyuk seemed to be absorbed in his voice, and he constantly
recited long messages sent by Seo Yoonjae.

"Oh, I can't. Let's go now, shall we?"

Woo Hyunsung shook his head and picked up his wallet.

After midnight, Woo Hyunsung, who was originally supposed to walk me and Woo
Hyunsung was supposed to go with Baek Inhyuk, but Woo Hyunsung, who was unable to
send a drunken Sunjae as he was, chose the direction of four people per taxi.

I got a message on my cell-phone on my way to the taxi. Woo Hyunsung's name was on
the screen, wondering if it was a work message at this time.

"Huh? What is it?"

When I open the message asking that, someone's birth date pops up. Woo Hyunsung
asked, pretending to be calm.

"We're very close, aren't we? Don't you think so?"

"What? Suddenly?"

"That's my birthday and the time I was born".

"..."

"I've been having a hard time lately. Why would they do this to me? Huh? What do
you think my luck will be like this year?"

The space between the eyes narrows.

"Oh, I can't see the fortune-teller."

"Why? Where's the general god you used to hang out with?"

"I've never had such a thing..."

"It's because I didn't give you Bokchae in the past, right? Huh?"

Woo Hyunsung, who sat in the passenger seat, turned his body and looked at me.
Then, Sunjae, who was burying himself on the sheet, hugs me with his arms.

"Oh, why are you yelling?"

One of the hands of Sunjae came up as if to wrap my head. He pulled it in and

locked my head in his arms.

"If it's not Sol, it's not Sol."

"Well."

"Just go ahead."

Woo Hyunsung turns to casual words. Then he looked out the window and said to
himself, "Hurray for my solo life." Woo Hyunsung has recently been in labor after
his long relationship. It was said that's why today's drinking party was made, but
the person who wanted to get drunk didn't get drunk, but two people, Amen, were
drunk.

"Well, drop me off here, please drop me off here."

The taxi stopped in front of him when he pointed to where to get off. Baek Inhyuk,
who fell asleep as soon as he got in the taxi, didn't even know he was getting off.
I forced Sunjae to get off after me and closed the door. Woo Hyunsung says to go in
carefully with the window down.

"Sol, but Ki, collect them well. They may come again."

"Don't be ridiculous. Just go."

"If they come back, you'll tell me".

"Oh, really... "

When I squints my eyes, Woo Hyunsung waves his hand and raises the window. As I
moved my eyes to the back seat, I saw Sunjae looking up at me with his chin on the
window frame. I messed up Sunjae's hair lightly.

"Take care, Sunjae."

Sunjae, who gave up his hair still, still looks at me without organizing his messy
hair.

"Go in and get in touch with me. I'm sure."

"Yes. You, too."

Wave your hand and step back, and the taxi leaves. I turned around as I watched a
taxi moving away.

Last year, I ran around selling footwork from town to town to move. There were two
candidates. Close to the company and close to Sunjae's accommodation. Sunjae
recommended officetels around the company, saying, "Wouldn't it be better near the
company?" Baek Inhyuk suddenly intervened, saying, "If you want to go on a date
often, it's better near the accommodation."

Last year was a particularly busy year for Sunjae as personal activities were
added. As a result, there were so many days when the two of us spent cozy time
together. I decided to move near the accommodation because I thought it would be
perfect just because I could see Sunjae often. But Sunjae pulled out the car. The
reason was that he didn't want me to go to work farther away because of him.
Eventually, with the help of the bank, I entered an officetel not far from the
company. I got in trouble for stopping Sunjae from adding.

The elevator arrived with a clear sound. I went inside and tried to press the
button, but suddenly someone pushed himself into the elevator. At that moment, a
curse word was about to pop out of surprise, and the person who came in was Sunjae.

"What? You didn't go?"

When I asked with a surprised face, Sunjae grabs the elevator door and looks at me
with a little rough breath. It looks like he's running.

"I forgot something."

"What? Did you leave something to me?"

I don't think there was anything like that. I looked in my bag with my head down. I
was nervous for no reason at the thought of a taxi waiting for Sunjae outside. I am
busily digging through the things inside, and Sunjae grabs my chin. Our lips
touched before our eyes met. I couldn't close my eyes because it was so quick. I
saw Sunjae closing his eyes right in front of me. Lightly touched lips make a sound
and fall.

"I'll go, Sol."

I opened my eyes wide. Sunjae left as abruptly as he had come in. The door, which
had not been closed, was immediately closed as Sunjae held it. After I ordered it,
I belatedly came to my senses and pressed the button, but my fingers seem to
tremble a little.

The stationary elevator slowly climbed up. I leaned my head against the wall and
put my palm on my lips. My heart is pounding for the first time in a while.
