Let’s Catch the Easter Bunny!

Sammy is excited that Easter is almost here! This year will be different because Sammy
plans to catch the Easter Bunny. "I'll stay up all night if I have to," Sammy thought.

First, he paints eggs and bunnies on a small box. Second, Sammy attaches a string to the
box. He arranges carrots and treats near the box for the bunny to enjoy. He makes the
box comfortable by adding soft blankets. Last, Sammy sets up his bunny trap in the
garden.

The night before Easter, Sammy grabs his flashlight and waits by the window. He wants to
see the Easter Bunny! He waits a very long time but has trouble staying awake. He falls
asleep, still holding the flashlight in one hand.

The morning sun wakes Sammy up and he quickly remembers his mission. He rushes to the
garden. He laughs out loud when he sees his trap caught something! Sammy slowly lifts
the box but the box is empty. He feels disappointed. The Easter Bunny got away!

Then, he looks around the garden and notices many colorful eggs and
treats! There is also a chocolate bunny with a note that says, “Better luck
next time! Thank you for the carrots. - E.B”. Sammy smiles.

Sammy grabs his chocolate Easter Bunny and heads back inside. Even
though he didn’t catch the Easter Bunny, he learns an important lesson. He
realizes that he can’t always get exactly what he wants, and that’s okay.
Some things are more special when they are out of reach.
