CELLEVORWORT Es ist kaum bekannt, da Antonio Vivaldi (ca. 1678 — 1741) Originalhompositonen fir Block geschrisben hat, a da selbst seine bekanaten sechs ‘Querfbtenkonzerte op. X urspringlich Blockftenkonzerte waren, die der Meister fr day rivalsierende Schvteserinstromenteincichtete und drucken tieS, als die Querfite began, sich als Soloinstrument Kammer nd Konzertsaal zu erobern. In den Vivaldischen Handsehriften sind abnlich wie bei Bach die beiden Instrumente deutlich durch die Bezeichnungen ,,fauto" und ,,fauto taverso" auseinandergehalten. Bine der schéasten dieser orginalen Blockfstenkompesitionen st cin Trio fir konzerticrende Flote, Oboe und Fagott (—= Basso continuo), Pincherle Inventaire chématique Nr, 402, im Autograph als ,,Concerto del Vivaldi fr Flasto, Hobois, Fagot bezeichnet. Im Original sind einzelne Tone der Obcenstimme ad lib. oktavversetzt, was mit Sicherheit darauf schlieen lab, daB das Stick auch mit zwei Blockfioten musisiert wurde. Selbstver- stindlich kann die Blocklote auch durch cine Querloe ersetzt werden. Neben der Manglich idealen Besetzung etwa mit Blockfote, Oboe, Fagott und Cembalo sind daher eine Reibe von anderen Besetzungen miglich, die das Werk als wertvolle Bereicherung der Hausmusiliteratar erscheinen lassen. 1. Melodiestimme: Blockiote, Querflte, evt Violine 2, Melodiestimsme: Oboe, Blockise, Querfste, etl. Vioine Bal: Fagot, Viola da Gamba, Violoncello und auGerdem Tasternstrument (Cembalo, Spinett, Klavier). Die Parttur dieses Werkes befindot sich in der Biblioteca Nationale in Turin in der Sammlung Renzo Giordano, Bd, VIM p.20. Sie emthalt keine ddynamisehen Zeichen und ist sehr sparsam artkuliert. Die Zutaten des Herassgebers, durch Klamern und gesrichelte Bogen deutch vom Original unterschieden sind als Ancegung 24 werten, das Stick s0 farbig und lebendig eu musizieren, wie dis tur Vivalizet ablich war. PREFACE It is alittle known fact that Antonio Vivaldi (ca, 1678 — 1741) wrote original compositions for the recorder and that his si well mown flute concertos ‘op. X. were in fact orginally recorder concertos, which the master arranged forthe rival sister instrument and had published when the tansverse flute began to conquer the music room and the concert hall. AS in Bach's scores the two instruments are clearly distinguished in Vivaldis manus- ripts by the terms “flauto” and “auto travers ‘One of the most beautiful of these original compositions for recorder is a trio for solo flute, oboe and bassoon (-= basso continue), No. 402 in Pin chetle’s Inventaire thématigue, which the autograph describes as “Concert del Vivaldi for flauto, hobois and fagotto. In the original some notes in ‘the oboe part are scared an octave higher ad lib, indicating beyond any doubt that the work was also played on two recorders. Needless 10 say, the sscorder part can also be played on 2 fate. In addition to the ideal instrumentation consisting of recorder, aboe, bassoon and harpsichord, a umber of other arrangements are therefore possible, making the work a valuable addition to the literature of chamber music 1 part: recorder, flute or violin, if necessary 2nd part: oboe, recorder, fute or violin if necessary base part: bassoon, viola da gamba, violoncello and keyboard instrument (harpsichord, spine, pianoforte). ‘The score ofthis work isin the Biblioteca Nazionale in Turin in the Renzo Giordano collection vol. A Mautographe quelques notes de la parte dur hautbois sont transmnises A Toctave inférieuce (ed ib) ce qui nous permet de conclure que cete cuvee fut aussi exécutte par deux Altes & bec. Natuellement on peut égalemen substituer la te 8 bec par une fte taversitee. Hors lexécution idle cestindie avec fte bec, hautbois, basson etclavecin de nombreux autres rangements sont possible ce qui fait cette eruvre trbsrecommandable aux cercles damateurs Je yoix: fte & bee, flte traversitre,éventuellement violon 2 voix: hautbois, te 4 bec, le traverse, (violon) basse: basson,viole de gambe, voloncele et en outre un instrument & clavier (clavecn, épinette, piano). La partition de cette muvee est A la Bibliothique Nationale de Turin dans le recueil Renzo Giordano, 8 volume, p.20 Il ne se trouvent pas de signes dynamiques et les courbes ysont tres rares. Les signes accessoires de 'dliteur sont distingués de Vriginal par des paranthéses et des litsons pointllées.
