a strange plane flying in the storm without lights.
The pilot of the black aeroplane helped him in
landing safely. On landing he turned back to look
for the friend but he had disappeared. The black
aeroplane had gone, the lady in control centre told
him that he was the only one flying that night.
There was no other plane. He could not understand
who helped him. It was really a big mystery.
Anne called 26th July a tumultous day as it was full
of tension and fright. The first warning siren was
sent off in the morning but nobody paid any
attention to it because it only meant that the planes
were crossing the coast. The siren alarmed again
around 2 O'clock in the afternoon. Anne and her
sister went upstairs but after five minutes they
heard loud gunshots. After half an hour, drone of
engines faded and life became normal. The city was
enveloped in thick fog. But after dinner time, there
was another gun-fire round and swarms of planes.
The air was buzz with the drone of engines.
Nobody was able to sleep that night because it
repeated again at midnight.
The airhostess was the very queen of her kind. I
fully agree with the author's statement. The chief
duty of an airhostess is to make the passengers feel
comfortable during the journey. The airhostess on
Maxwell's plane does all she can do for him. That
is why Maxwell calls her the very queen of her
kind.
She calmly listens to the author, allows him to keep
the animal on his knees and tries to catch it when it
escapes. In doing so she does not loose her
patience. The author also tries to catch the animal
and in doing so, he lands himself on a passenger.
His face is covered with curry. Once again the
airhostess comes to Maxwell's help. Thus we see
that the airhostess was really a nice lady/kind lady.
Valli was a Tamil girl of eight years. She had no
playmates. It was her favourite pastime to stand on
the front doorway of her house. She watched what
was happening in the street outside. She had the
keenest desire to have a bus ride. She listened to the
conversation between her neighbours and people
who were regular bus commuters. She even
questioned them. She had got ample knowledge
about the bus, bus fare and duration of time. There
ran a bus between her village and the nearest town.
The town was six miles from her village.
The fare was thirty paise for one way. So she had
to collect sixty-paise for the both side journey. This
she had heard from a well-dressed person. The trip
to the town took forty-five minutes. She would
board at one O'clock afternoon bus and reach the
town at one forty-five. She would be back by about
two forty-five. She resisted all her temptations of
buying balloons, toys and saved money. She
collected all the stray coins that came her way. At
the village fair, she avoided the swing and the
merry-go-round. Thus she collected her requisite
money.

Portuguese, has an important Portuguese colony in
Asia. The Portuguese were driven by their desire to

culture of Goa is deeply influenced by Portuguese
