”RESPECT”, “INCLUSIVE”, “RACE”, “AFRICAN AMERICAN”

”Respect”, “Inclusive”, “Race”, “African American”: all of these are intangible words, yet
everyone claims they comprehend what they imply. The same person who only knows that
African Americans are a race and that they had some historical aspect in our society at some
point in time. Here we are told that they were not equal to us for so long but not taught so.
We feel so conversant, yet so adrift. I once felt like that until I replaced my apathy with
wisdom. To be truly versed is to be cognizant of how naive one is.

However, here we are taught to praise leaders who contribute, to express approval of
dignitaries who implicate innovative solutions or even pay homage to the panjandrums of
progress in an inclusive society. We tend to use the word “inclusive” so much to describe our
society when it's antithetical. Insensitive really…

Moreover, one is encountered every day by different names of impactful people who use their
proficiency to endow on social matters or even disguise inherent problems. The thing is there
is no heterogeneity in these people. At the outset, cherished in the art world, Kimberly Drew
has specialised on black art, artists, and racial justice. She subsequently shifted her attention
to writing, co-edited the anthology "Black Futures", and published it.

experiences of the Black community.

In a nutshell, we have witnessed the nation's cumulative impact on the further development of
not just our civilization but also humanity at large. When can I hear about another black
person who is not “Barack Obama” or “Rosa Parks”? See here is the problem, we close our
eyes and blind ourselves from the many other influential African Americans who have
changed lives. For the benefit of subsequent generations, we must all accept that change is
inevitable and that it is time to face it.
