Moreover, they leverage automated technology, using a vehicle booking platform that can
be integrated with existing driver and customer applications used by events. This allows
them to predict passenger behavior and match vehicles or drivers to specific individuals or
audiences. This is further enhanced by analyzing feedback data taken from the
audience/guests using automated software 2.
In summary, MotusOne plays a crucial role in the event industry by providing essential
transportation services, enhancing event management, and contributing to sustainable
practices.
Noor Islam Transport offers a wide range of transportation services. They provide bus rental
services, school transport services, city tour services, car leasing services, van rental
services, and wedding & party services. They serve customers across various cities in the
UAE, including Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Sharjah, Ajman, Umm Al Quwain, Ras Al Khaimah,
Fujairah, and others. They pride themselves on their timely service, well-trained drivers, and
clean, well-serviced buses. Their services are available 24x7, making them a convenient
choice for any time of the day. They also offer a variety of bus sizes to suit different group
sizes 2.
MotusOne UAE Branch, on the other hand, is part of a global transportation management
services provider. They specialize in managing complex transport, logistics, and event
projects. Their services are designed to reduce costs and streamline operations. They offer
event transportation, corporate transportation, transportation consulting, expo transport,
and transportation management services. They also emphasize the importance of local
knowledge and cultural understanding in their operations, which gives them an edge in
carrying out smoother operations wherever their services are needed 1.
In comparison, while Noor Islam Transport offers a broad range of local transportation
services, the UAE branch of MotusOne operates on a larger scale, focusing on complex
transport, logistics, and event projects. They are likely to have more advanced technologies
and processes in place to manage large-scale operations efficiently. However, Noor Islam
Transport may be more suitable for smaller, local events or transportation needs, while
MotusOne is better equipped to handle large-scale, complex operations.
Motus One's strategy is simple yet effective: instead of aiming for the cheapest, they strive
to be the best in providing top-notch event transportation services. Their primary focus is on
two key groups—high-end customers and event managers. Rather than constantly seeking
new customers, Motus One prioritizes building lasting relationships with their existing
clientele. This approach distinguishes them in the industry. The company aspires to be a
leader, consistently delivering excellent results for challenging projects and discerning
clients. Their mission is to break away from traditional approaches, ensuring each guest
enjoys a personalized experience. By committing to high-quality, customized event
transportation for upscale customers and event managers, Motus One aims to establish
enduring relationships and trust in the industry. The strategy-making pyramid clarifies roles
and responsibilities within the organization, fostering effective collaboration towards their
vision.
Fig 9- MotusOne’s Strategy Making Pyramid
As depicted in the above diagram, the business strategy centres on becoming a leading
provider of exceptional event transportation, emphasizing quality and robust relationships.
The vision focuses on outstanding service, while the mission encourages breaking from
tradition for quality and strong connections. The functional strategy includes marketing
prioritizing lasting ties, R&D featuring thorough market research, and financial/operational
management using Xero and Falcon Tracker with regular updates. The operating strategy
involves leadership oversight, project execution with Mondays for effective team
communication, and a commitment to continuous improvement through regular
assessments and innovation fostering.
Motus One prioritizes delivering high-quality services over cost considerations, enhancing
customer satisfaction and fostering enduring relationships. This commitment to excellence
cultivates customer loyalty, subsequently elevating demand. The provision of customized
solutions and the company's distinctive position in the industry further attract high-end
clients, amplifying the overall demand. This continuous cycle of improvement contributes
significantly to the sustained growth and success of the company.
The key ingredient for MotusOne's success is innovative leadership, outstanding event
transportation, and a dedication to industry trust. With strategic goals in mind, such as
sustainability and operational effectiveness, the business carries out plans, evaluates results,
and makes adjustments to ensure continued excellence and growth.
1.2 Conduct of the sector’s competitive analysis
Motus One adopts a proactive supplier management strategy, ensuring data security
through timely changes and prioritization. The company strategically establishes barriers of
entry by offering specialized event transportation services, fostering strong relationships,
and possessing unique knowledge. When engaging with buyers, Motus One caters to the
high-end market, emphasizing strong relationships and employing strategies to minimize
buyer influence. However, they face a challenge in meeting customer demands for both
cheap and sustainable options. In terms of competitive rivalry, Motus One focuses on
industry trends and differentiation through unique, top-notch services. To counter
substitute threats, they position themselves with personalized services, a commitment to
breaking industry norms, and unique offerings, minimizing the substitute threat.
PESTEL Analysis
Motus One's leadership style aligns more closely with the Coaching Leadership approach. In
this leadership style, leaders actively work with their team members, offering guidance,
support, and personalized development opportunities. Notably, the interviewee
emphasized, "We don't make our employees do something which we ourselves can't do;
basically, we try to put ourselves in their shoes and then delegate tasks." This commitment
to understanding employees' perspectives by experiencing their roles firsthand
complements coaching principles. Motus One's leaders prioritize collaboration, maintaining
a friendly and respectful environment, and enhancing individual and collective performance
through mentorship and support. Additionally, the flexibility in time management, especially
for freelancers, is consistent with the coaching approach, as it recognizes and
accommodates individual needs and preferences within the team.
Outlays
Advantages Attained
MotusOne has numerous advantages via the integration of Xero, OneDrive, Monday.com,
and Ubeya. These include:
Here’s a more in-depth classification of MotusOne’s topology, including the systems that
come under each level:
Efficient information systems drive MotusOne's operations and customer service. However,
we have identified gaps in this complex setup might affect data use and effectiveness.
Solving these issues could result in better performance and seamless department
collaboration.
Customized user interfaces can improve customer satisfaction and build bonds.
Waterfall Methodology
This approach allows them to sequence milestones, diverting their full attention after
reaching and completing one milestone at a time.
MotusOne did not mention anything about Key Work Packages. However, they do use a
variety of cloud services to streamline their tasks, and workload.
Monday.com
Monday.com allows Motus|One to automate their workflows, mainly for Project
Management and Human Resource Management (HRM). Motus|One uses monday.com for
the following core features:
Role Assignment - Assigning specific roles or tasks to team members and tracking
their progress along the way, holding everyone accountable thereby avoiding
confusion in distribution of tasks.
Fig 19- Role Assignment using Monday.com
As a result, with the implementation of Ubeya, they found that Instant workforce data
access serves as MOTUS ONE's centralized communication hub, streamlining employee
messages on uniform regulations and location changes. This efficiency minimizes the time
spent managing communication channels, allowing a focus on core tasks rather than
navigating various messages for over 200 employees leading up to events.
Motus|One uses the waterfall model to carry out their daily operations. The Waterfall
model guides each task with precision and reliability by gradually progressing through the
distinct phases of requirements analysis, design, execution, and testing. This model ensures
that daily tasks are approached with thorough planning and executed with a close eye to
detail. By implementing the principles of the Waterfall model, Motus|One minimizes the
likelihood of errors thereby enhancing its overall efficiency.
A brief description of other different system development models is listed in the table given
below.
Fig 22- Different System Development Models
4.2. Selection of the most suitable model for the organization
Currently, Motus|One utilizes the Waterfall Model in their daily operations. They gather all
the project requirements beforehand and proceed with fully implementing each phase of
the project before moving onto the next phase. This model follows a linear sequential
approach and does not allow much room for flexibility.
According to our study and analysis, our group believes an Iterative Model would suit
Motus|One best in their daily operations. An Iterative approach allows Motus|One to
engage in a continuous feedback loop with clients during events, especially when client
requirements constantly evolve. Based on the feedback received from the clients, Motus|
One can incorporate these changes at each stage of the project and ensure that their
transportation services meet the demands during the event.
MotusOne uses the iterative model by continuously refining its transportation services.
Starting with targeted improvements in each iteration, the company gathers feedback from
stakeholders, adapts to changing requirements, and refines features based on real-world
usage. This iterative and adaptive approach allows Motus|One to deliver enhanced event
transportation solutions, ensuring continuous improvement, responsiveness to client needs,
and a commitment to excellence.
After the planning and design phase, a suitable deployment model must be selected for
implementation of the new system. A few options are listed in the table below.
In the ever-evolving landscape of the automotive sector, MotusOne stands at the forefront,
recognizing the imperative adoption of digital business models to not only stay competitive
but to also surpass evolving customer expectations. In essence, a digital business model
refers to the strategic use of digital technology to create, deliver, and capture value within
an industry. MotusOne, understanding this paradigm shift, effectively expands its client base
through the implementation of e-commerce methods, facilitating seamless online vehicle
sales and extending services into the aftermarket domain. The subscription-based models at
MotusOne are meticulously crafted, offering clients customizable ownership or service
plans, thereby fostering heightened customer loyalty. Leveraging sophisticated car
telematics and consumer information, MotusOne employs data-driven algorithms for
precisely targeted marketing campaigns and predictive maintenance. Additionally, the
company actively engages in platform models, forging alliances in shared mobility services
and infrastructure for charging electric vehicles. As MotusOne skillfully integrates these
tailored digital models, it positions itself not just to navigate the industry's ongoing digital
transformation but to proactively meet the dynamic demands of today's automotive
market.
In the dynamic landscape of the transportation industry, various business models are
strategically employed to meet the diverse needs of customers.
The Subscription model proves applicable, as companies charge customers for access to
their transportation services.
Moreover, the Access over Ownership model gains prominence, reflecting the industry's
acknowledgment of changing consumer preferences towards flexible and on-demand
transport solutions.
Here's how MotusOne aligns with the elements of an experience digital business model:
5.3. Reflection on how the model is implemented and its impact on the organization
Overall, this is how MotusOne could implement the Experience digital business model in
their operations, and the various impacts it has.
MotusOne is committed to achieving excellence and strongly emphasizes quality rather than
cost-saving measures, as discussed earlier. The company targets high-end clients, which
requires them to implement an effective system. The majority of MotusOne’s operations are
being handled manually. This approach was chosen due to the distinct requirements of each
project. For example, one project might be valued at nine million and require more
resources, while another, valued at thirty-five million, may demand minimal resources.
Despite the manual approach, MotusOne still employs various information systems,
including Monday, Ubeya, SharePoint, and Xero. A detailed discussion of these systems is
given below.
Fig. 26
Fig. 27
In Summary, MotusOne utilizes monday.com to manage client relations, handle projects,
and ensure organizational efficiency. This includes tracking suppliers and planning
integration with Xero for enhanced financial management. Ubeya supports finance, HR, and
staff management in ERP, particularly for large-scale events.
6.3. Explanation of the infrastructure and resources required for these systems
Fig. 28
Customizing monday.com for CRM and SCM presents challenges, such as careful integration
with Xero. In ERP, Ubeya adapts to challenges like manual methods and the impact of
COVID-19. Resources required encompass personalization, development, staff training, and
seamless workflow integration. Overcoming these challenges is imperative for the success of
each system at MotusOne.
8. Conclusions
7.1 Summary of main suggestions for the organization
The organisation should consider outsourcing its fleet management to specialised providers
who can offer sustainable solutions. This could include hybrid or electric vehicles, which are
becoming increasingly popular in the MENA region. However, the organisation needs to
ensure that there is sufficient support for these initiatives within the region.
The integration of Microsoft Dynamics into the organisation's operations could also be
beneficial. This could involve shifting the technology stack to align with the capabilities of
Microsoft Dynamics. The organisation could also consider focusing on Monday.com if it
provides the necessary services.
The organisation should also explore the benefits of implementing a centralised MIS. This
could involve integrating the current separate and disaggregated tools, which could lead to
a better flow of data and a centralised dashboard of information. However, the organisation
needs to consider the potential challenges associated with this transition, such as the
unknown total benefit of having an MIS versus the work required to implement it.
The organisation should consider adopting an Agile approach to its projects, rather than
sticking to a Waterfall model. While this may require training and adjustment, it could
potentially save time in the long run. The organisation should also consider taking
advantage of ecommerce platforms to automate tedious portions of the quote making
process.
The main constraint in implementing the suggested outsourcing of fleet management is the
slow support for EVs in the MENA region. The organisation will need to navigate this
challenge carefully to ensure that its initiatives are successful.
The main constraint in integrating Microsoft Dynamics is the potential need for a shift in the
technology stack. The organisation will need to carefully plan and execute this transition to
minimise disruption to its operations.
The main constraint in implementing a centralised MIS is the unknown total benefit of
having an MIS versus the work required to implement it. The organisation will need to
conduct thorough research and analysis before deciding to proceed with this initiative.
The main constraint in adopting an Agile approach is the requirement for training and
adjustment. The organisation will need to invest in training resources and provide adequate
support to its staff to facilitate this transition.
The main constraint in taking advantage of ecommerce platforms is the potential difficulty in
migrating from the current system of using email. The organisation will need to carefully
plan and execute this migration to avoid breaking changes.
7.3. Reflection on lessons learnt for the members of the start-up
The key lesson learned during this project was the importance of consultancy work. It
requires a lot of information and careful planning. For future projects, the team should aim
to gather more information at the beginning to ensure that they have all the necessary data
to make informed decisions.
Another key lesson was the difficulty of working with companies that are not very famous or
don't have an online presence. These companies often lack IT infrastructure and may not
have many recommendations to offer. For future projects, the team should aim to work
with more established companies or companies with a strong online presence.
Finally, the team learned that consultancy work can be challenging, especially when dealing
with companies that lack IT infrastructure. For future projects, the team should aim to
provide more detailed recommendations and guidance to help these companies improve
their IT infrastructure.

In my VARK analysis, my scores indicate a pronounced preference for kinesthetic learning (K:
14), suggesting that I learn best through hands-on experiences and physical activities. Aural
learning comes in second place with a score of 9, meaning I also benefit from auditory
information and discussions. Surprisingly, I show no inclination towards the read and write
learning style (R: 0), implying that traditional reading and writing methods might not be my
most effective learning tools. Visual learning is moderate with a score of 4, indicating that
while visual aids are helpful, I don't rely on them as heavily as kinesthetic and aural
methods.
My MBTI survey results reveal that I have a preference for ISFJ, which is Introversion (I), with
a score of 6, indicating that I tend to focus on my inner thoughts and find solitary activities
rejuvenating. In terms of perception, I lean towards Sensing (S) over Intuition (N) with a
score of 17, demonstrating a preference for concrete and practical information over
abstract concepts. When it comes to decision-making, I favor Thinking (T) over Feeling (F)
with a score of 10, suggesting that I rely more on logic and analysis than emotions. In
lifestyle, I tend towards Judging (J) rather than Perceiving (P) with a score of 13, reflecting a
preference for structure and organization in my approach to life.
My reflection on its strategy is that its plan seems very strong because it focuses on a
specific market and is known for doing really well. However, they should explore avenues to
diversify their customer database and do smaller events when business is slow. This
alternative approach can give them a more sustainable business model and foster growth
opportunities. While maintaining a commitment to quality, expanding its strategic horizon
might offer additional resilience in a dynamic market.
Motus One shows a thoughtful approach to information systems tailored to their needs.
They use Transaction Processing Systems (TPS) like Xero for precise financial management,
emphasizing accuracy. Their reliance on Office Automation Systems (OAS) like Excel
highlights their focus on analytical processes. The use of Knowledge Work Systems (KWS),
seen in Falcon Tracker for fleet monitoring, aligns well with the demands of their industry.
Even without a dedicated Management Information System (MIS), they cleverly use tools
like Excel OneDrive and Mondays. They opt for expert judgment over automated Decision
Support Systems (DSS) as all their projects are different and must be observed and handled
differently according to the client's needs. They don’t use any Executive Support Systems
(ESS) because they didn’t feel the need to do it as they don’t have many projects, but the
ones they have are huge and can be managed without any ESS in place.
Motus One has organized its work well, but there's a chance to make things even smoother
For Knowledge Work Systems (KWS), By using smart devices like those from Particle or
NimbeLink, they can make their fleet monitoring even better. These devices give instant
information about how vehicles are doing and where they are. Adding clever sensors goes
beyond just tracking – it gives details about things like the environment or the condition of
equipment. Particle's devices are flexible and can be adjusted to what Motus One needs,
making their work more efficient. This move fits with Motus One's goal of being precise in
event transportation, making sure their information systems cover everything they need.
Motus One strategically employs the waterfall methodology to manage its IT projects,
emphasizing detailed planning and sequential progress. In their leadership approach, Motus
One aligns more closely with the Coaching Leadership style, actively working with team
members to offer guidance, support, and personalized development opportunities. They
effectively use cloud services, with OneDrive being a prominent tool for document
management. OneDrive enhances collaboration among team members, centralizes data
storage, and promotes seamless communication within the organization.
Motus One takes a systematic approach to systems development, relying on the waterfall
model. This method, emphasizing detailed planning and step-by-step progress, aligns with
their project-oriented nature. It ensures a structured execution of projects, breaking down
tasks into manageable milestones. By adhering to this model, Motus One prioritizes a
methodical and organized approach to systems development.
Motus One's digital business model centers around its websites, serving as a vital resource
for information on their high-quality and personalized event transportation services. The
websites, designed with a user-friendly interface, play a crucial role in providing a seamless
platform for clients to explore the services offered. However, a notable observation is that
on their website, they have mentioned providing logistics services, but from the interview, it
was revealed that they actually don't offer logistics. Rectifying this inconsistency on the
website by removing the logistics aspect would ensure accurate representation, fostering
transparency and credibility in line with the company's actual service offerings.
Reflecting on this, while their current model aligns with their commitment to quality and
personalized services, introducing a mobile app for clients could enhance interaction and
customer engagement. Additionally, exploring a subscription-based model, even for high-
end clients, might provide a more predictable revenue stream and foster long-term
relationships.
Motus One strategically uses information systems tailored to their unique operational
needs. They make smart use of Mondays.com as a customized CRM for efficient project
management, client interaction, and project status monitoring. In Supply Chain
Management, they integrate Xero for accounting within Mondays.com, actively working on
a comprehensive SCM framework. For Enterprise Resource Planning, they use Ubeya,
excelling in its ERP and helping them with large-scale event transportation planning.
Reflecting on Motus One’s BIS, they are currently using different tools like Mondays.com for
project and client management, Xero for finances, and Ubeya for ERP. While this approach is
adaptable, a suggestion for improvement is to maximize the use of Mondays.com. Turning it
into an all-in-one ERP system could streamline tasks by putting everything in one place. This
change aligns with their goal of being efficient and might enhance their overall workflow,
making things even smoother.
What I learned
I learned more about project management techniques, digital business models, competitive
analysis, information system kinds, and business information systems. I now understand
how crucial it is to match IT initiatives with corporate objectives, choose suitable models for
systems development, and use digital business models tailored to particular industries. It is
essential to comprehend the importance of project management strategies, information
system functions, and how technology affects fundamental business processes.
Furthermore, realizing the resources and infrastructure needed for a successful
implementation highlights how crucial a safe and well-maintained IT environment is. All
things considered, these subjects add to a comprehensive knowledge of technology
integration, strategic organizational management, and successful decision-making in the
fast-paced corporate environment of today.
Survey
My learning style results indicate a blend across Visual (3), Aural (4), Read/Write (6), and
Kinaesthetic (4) preferences. As someone with a Visual learning style, I tend to grasp
information better through seen or observed elements like pictures and demonstrations.
Aural learning resonates with me as well, emphasizing a preference for information transfer
through listening, discussions, and spoken instructions. The Read/Write preference aligns
with my inclination for information displayed as words, favoring reading and writing in
various formats.
Understanding this blend highlights the need for a varied approach to learning.
Incorporating visual aids, engaging in discussions, emphasizing written materials, and
providing hands-on experiences would cater to my diverse preferences. Recognizing and
adapting to this mix enables me to choose learning methods that align with my strengths,
promoting a more effective and personalized educational experience. It's important to note
that there is no universally right or wrong learning style; the key is to identify what suits my
individual preferences for optimal learning.
Reflection – Personality type
Based on the results, my personality type is identified as INTP, which stands for Introverted,
Intuitive, Thinking, and Perceiving. These characteristics suggest that I lean towards
introversion, preferring quiet and reflective environments. Being intuitive implies a
tendency to focus on future possibilities and concepts rather than concrete details. The
thinking trait indicates a decision-making process based on logic and objective analysis. With
a perceiving inclination, I tend to be adaptable and spontaneous rather than structured and
organized. This personality type, INTP, reflects a balance of traits that contribute to a
thoughtful, analytical, and open-minded approach to various situations.
Based on the results, my team role preferences indicate a well-rounded profile with
strengths in various areas. I excel as an Implementer, with a score of 11, showcasing my
ability to turn ideas into practical actions. As a Resource Investigator (9), I demonstrate
proficiency in exploring and discovering external opportunities. Additionally, my
Teamworker (9) and Completer Finisher (9) scores highlight my collaborative nature and
attention to detail, ensuring tasks are thoroughly completed.
With scores of 8 in roles like Co-ordinator, Plant, Monitor Evaluator, and Shaper, I exhibit
versatility in coordinating team efforts, generating innovative ideas, critically evaluating
situations, and driving necessary changes. Although I lean towards a Specialist role with a
score of 0, my overall profile indicates a preference for dynamic and hands-on team
contributions, where my skills in implementation and collaboration shine.

To stay innovative, MotusOne should explore emerging trends in digital business models
and evaluate their relevance to the automotive industry. Experimenting with new revenue
streams within existing models or adopting hybrid models can enhance MotusOne's
adaptability. Continuously analyzing user data insights ensures targeted marketing efforts

Suggestions:
As an INTJ, I find myself drawn to the world of abstract concepts and future possibilities. My
decision-making process is rooted in logic and reason, and I thrive in environments that
allow me to plan and structure my tasks. I am known for my analytical problem-solving
abilities and my dedication to achieving my goals. However, I also recognize that my
tendency towards perfectionism and focus on the big picture can sometimes make me seem
insensitive or distant. Despite these characteristics, I believe that my unique personality
type allows me to excel in fields that require efficiency, the interpretation of complex
information, and independent work.
However, I also recognize that there are areas where I could grow. My lower scores in
'Resource Investigator' and 'Specialist' roles indicate that I may need to develop my ability
to seek out new ideas and specialize in certain areas. I am committed to continuous learning
and growth, and I believe that by focusing on these areas, I can enhance my contributions to
any team I am part of.
In my understanding, strategic management principles are the guiding principles that help a
company set its direction and achieve its goals. They involve making decisions about where
to invest resources, how to allocate them, and how to measure success. For example, a
company might decide to focus on a particular market segment, develop a new product line,
or expand into a new geographic area. These decisions are based on careful analysis of the
company's strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, as well as its internal and external
environment.
At MotusOne, these principles seem to be applied effectively. The company has a clear
mission and vision, and it uses strategic management principles to guide its decision-making
process. For instance, it targets high-profile clients and prioritizes service quality over cost.
However, there are always areas for improvement. For example, the company could
conduct a more detailed analysis to better understand its internal and external environment
and make more informed decisions.
Information systems are crucial for any business today. They help manage and analyze data,
automate processes, and support decision-making. There are several types of information
systems, including transaction processing systems, management information systems, and
executive information systems. Each type serves different purposes and is used in different
contexts. For example, transaction processing systems handle routine transactions like sales
and purchases, while management information systems provide managers with the data
they need to make decisions. Executive information systems, on the other hand, provide
executives with a broad view of the entire organization.
At MotusOne, various types of information systems are likely in use. For instance, the
company probably uses a management information system to track key performance
indicators and monitor financial performance. It might also use an executive information
system to provide senior leaders with strategic insights. However, the company could
potentially benefit from implementing more advanced information systems, such as
predictive analytics software, to gain deeper insights into market trends and customer
behavior.
At MotusOne, effective IT project management would likely involve careful planning and
execution of IT initiatives. For example, if the company were to implement a new ERP
system, it would need to carefully plan the project, including identifying the necessary
resources, developing a detailed implementation plan, and managing potential risks.
However, the company could also improve its project management practices by adopting
more modern methodologies, such as Agile or DevOps, which emphasize flexibility and
continuous improvement.
At MotusOne, the choice of systems development model would depend on the nature of
the project. For example, if the company were to develop a new software application, it
might choose the iterative model, which allows for frequent feedback and adjustments.
However, the company could also consider using a hybrid model, which combines elements
of multiple models, to suit the specific needs of the project.
Digital business models describe how a business creates, delivers, and captures value in a
digital environment. They take into account the unique characteristics of the digital world,
such as network effects, platform effects, and ecosystem effects.
At MotusOne, the company could leverage digital business models to enhance its
competitive advantage. For example, it could create a digital platform that connects buyers
and sellers, or it could build a digital ecosystem that includes partners and suppliers.
However, the company would need to carefully manage the digital assets it creates, to
protect its intellectual property rights and maintain customer trust.
Business information systems, such as ERP, CRM, and SCM systems, provide organizations
with the tools they need to manage their core business processes. They integrate data
across the organization, automate repetitive tasks, and provide real-time insights.
MotusOne currently employs a CRM system via Monday.com, while there is no ERP system
in place. The introduction of such systems could substantially boost operational efficiency
and decision-making capabilities. However, careful planning and execution of the
implementation process are necessary to ensure these systems integrate smoothly with
existing systems and meet the company's specific needs.
VARK Results
My VARK scores suggest a preference for multimodal learning, with a strong emphasis on
kinaesthetic and visual methods. I benefit from seeing, doing, and reading to grasp
information effectively, while also appreciating auditory elements. This explains why I
preferred to read through resources, samples and lecture slides to gather information for
my contribution towards this project.
MBTI Results
ISFJ stands for Introverted, Sensing, Feeling, and Judging. As an ISFJ, I likely value harmony,
tradition, and helping others. I tend to be reserved, detail-oriented, and compassionate,
often enjoying routine and providing practical support to those around me. This explains
why I worked very well with deadlines and performed each task after careful thought,
consideration, and in-depth detail.
Reflection – Teamwork approach
Belbin Questionnaire
My Belbin results reveal that I am more of an Implementer role in the team. It suggests that
I should be more collaborative with Teamworkers and Coordinators to balance team
dynamics
While striving to be the best in the industry, I believe Motus|One should also make sure
that their services are provided in the most sustainable and eco-friendly way possible. This
could mean providing transportation solutions that would have a less harmful impact on the
environment.
While Motus|One does use various platforms for their information systems, I believe that a
centralized application including all these information systems would be more efficient and
beneficial to the organization. This would ease the process of tracking ongoing tasks and
managing resources as everything can be found in one platform.
Motus|One makes use of the Waterfall approach towards their projects. This means they
carefully plan each phase of the project and only proceed to the next phase once the
previous one is complete. They also make use of various Cloud Platforms for their daily
operations such as Monday.com, Ubeya, as well as OneDrive.
While the Waterfall approach seems to be working well for Motus|One, I think that an Agile
approach would be much more beneficial to them. Agile provides room for more flexibility
during the course of the project to adapt to client’s changing requirements.
Motus|One uses a sequential approach in their systems development models. Being a linear
model, phases are completed one at a time, making it easy to understand. However, this
may not be the most efficient approach as the focus here is more on quality rather than
time and cost.
I would suggest that Motus|One follows an Iterative approach in their system development
models. This is allows them to constantly evolve and enhances the quality of their work
based on the feedback received from clients at the end of each phase. This provides them
with the flexibility to adapt to changes in requirements made by clients at different phases
of the project.
Digital business models refer to the strategic use of digital technology to create, deliver and
capture value within the industry. Motus|One’s digital presence is rather low as they only
focus on their website.
I believe that they should make better use of social media platforms to spread the word and
attract more clients. This would enhance the marketing of their brand, attracting more
valuable clients, thereby boosting their position in the industry.
Motus|One has well-defined Business Information Systems in place. As part of CRM, they
use Monday.com to manage daily operations and tasks. As part of ERP, they use Ubeya to
manage their human enterprise resources. However, they do not have an SCM system in
place as they do not really have an inventory as they outsource their fleet.
While Motus|One does use various platforms for their information systems, I believe that a
centralized application including all these information systems would be more efficient and
beneficial to the organization. This would ease the process of tracking ongoing tasks and
managing resources as everything can be found in one platform.
According to the results from a personality test, I have likely exhibit strong organizational
skills, a practical approach to problem-solving, and a preference for clear structures and
plans in both personal and professional aspects. Below are the results from the MBTI
Personality test.
Reflection – Team role
From the results obtained, I could summarize that I'm good at different team roles, like
getting things done, coordinating, and shaping ideas. This means I can contribute well to
different parts of a team. It matches with how I like to learn and do things practically. Here
are the results:
MotusOne prioritizes excellence, building strong ties with high-end clients through
personalized event transportation, emphasizing sustainability. Their success stems from
innovative leadership, a Coaching Leadership approach, strategic supplier management, and
adaptability to social trends in the competitive UAE market.
MotusOne can boost their efforts to be eco-friendly in their transportation services. This
could mean using more green technologies for their vehicles, adopting practices that are
good for the environment, and getting certifications to show they're committed to being
environmentally friendly. This can attract more customers who care about sustainability and
make the company stand out in the market.
Topic 2 - Information System Types
MotusOne relies on a diverse set of information systems for managing its event
transportation services. Key components include OneDrive for document management,
Monday.com for project tracking, Ubeya for staffing, and Xero for accounting. These
systems contribute to enhanced staffing management, robust financial control, streamlined
data handling, and operational efficiency. MotusOne's information system functions cover
vehicle tracking, invoice generation, and data reporting. The company faces issues with
separate systems storing information separately and delays in making invoices by people. To
fix this, they plan to combine all systems into one and use more automation to work better
and interact with customers more easily.
MotusOne should focus on bringing all their different systems together into one platform.
This will help them work better as a team and avoid problems with scattered information.
With everything in one place, they can do their jobs more efficiently and make better
decisions. This step will set the stage for other improvements, making MotusOne more
organized and connected.
MotusOne presently follows a detailed plan (Waterfall) for precise task management. It's
recommended to shift to an Improvement Model (Iterative) for continuous enhancements
aligned with evolving client needs. This involves making specific improvements, gathering
feedback from stakeholders, and consistently refining processes. When implementing new
systems, it's advised to adopt a gradual approach (Phased-In) for a smoother transition. This
method involves slowly introducing changes to ensure everyone adapts comfortably,
allowing MotusOne to consistently improve services and ensure client satisfaction.
MotusOne can enhance efficiency by transitioning from the rigid Waterfall model to the
flexible Iterative model. This change promotes continuous improvements, adapting to
evolving client needs. For system deployment, a phased-in approach is recommended,
allowing a gradual transition, minimizing risks, and facilitating staff training at a comfortable
pace. This strategy ensures smoother adaptation to new systems, fostering enhanced
transportation services and overall client satisfaction.
MotusOne should integrate data analytics to enhance decision-making, tailor services based
on customer preferences, and optimize operational efficiency. This data-driven approach
ensures better customer satisfaction, strategic alignment with market trends, and overall
business performance improvement.
the Belbin Team Role results showcase a diverse set of strengths and contributions
within a team context. It's evident that I bring a combination of leadership,
collaboration, and task-oriented skills, contributing to a well-rounded and effective
team dynamic. Understanding these roles provides valuable insights into my
preferred team contributions and areas where I can excel in a collaborative
environment.
One of the strategies that Motus|One has emphasized is its leadership style. The
interviewee stated, “We don't make our employees do something that we can't do;
basically, we try to put ourselves in their shoes and then delegate tasks." This reflects a
strong commitment to prioritizing and maintaining a collaborative, friendly, and respectful
working environment. With this foundation in place within workplaces, individuals would
demonstrate positive performance through various mentorship and support within the
team.
While Motus|One has found success with the Waterfall model, it's worth considering the
potential benefits of incorporating an iterative model into their project management
approach. With its flexible and adaptive nature, the iterative model could provide Motus|
One with advantages in the ever-evolving landscape of event transportation services.
One of the challenges the business is currently facing is the effective maintenance and
management of costs. An avenue to address this challenge and potentially increase revenue
is through establishing corporate partnerships. In this approach, Motus|One and corporate
clients would enter into a contractual agreement, providing services at a discounted rate.
While this arrangement may initially reduce costs for corporate clients, it presents a long-
term opportunity for Motus|One to secure a steady flow of projects. This sustained project
availability positions the company to generate more revenue over time, allowing for the
transition from freelance-based staffing to hiring full-time employees.
Section 6 – ERP - BIS
Motus|One employs various information systems to streamline and support its business
processes. These processes encompass Customer Relationship Management (CRM) and
Supply Chain Management (SCM) on Mondays, as well as Enterprise Resource Planning
(ERP) on Ubeya and Xeros for payroll software. These systems are pivotal in facilitating
efficient operations across every department by automating and optimizing various tasks.
They contribute to seamlessly integrating organizational functions, ensuring a cohesive and
well-coordinated approach to business activities.
Given the existence of multiple software applications for different use cases, consolidating
all our business processes into a single platform, such as Monday.com, would be a more
efficient approach. This consolidation would streamline our workflow, enhance
collaboration, and simplify management. Having all business processes within Monday.com
offers a cohesive and integrated solution, reducing complexity and improving overall
efficiency.
