After one month, The Crusaders conquered Jerusalem and began to massacre the Muslims. They some Saracens were beheaded, tortured and killed. Early Christian chroniclers stated that thousands of Muslims were killed at Jerusalem. The Crusaders saw the massacre as a part of Christian devotion. Nearly 3 quarters of the Crusaders had died on the 1st Crusade In Muslim society, the Crusades play a big role in society.
