Description
Grade Select
Sapwood is narrow, whitish and sharply demarcated Durability 2 in ground and 1 out of ground
from the reddish or brownish heartwood. No taste
but a slightly rancid odour is present in some Janka (KN) 8.7
specimens. Texture fine. Grain interlocked Structural F27 KD (AS 2082)
producing a mild stripe figure on radial surface. Grade
Rather lustrous. Bole usually 12 – 15m long. FSC FSC 100%
Species reaches its best and is most commonly
found on rich, moist but well-drained clay soils. Density Green Strength
Occurs mixed hardwood forest.

Characteristics
Timber is very hard, tough and strong. Air-dries
