Scope ‘This Japanese industrial Standard epecifies aluminium conductor steel reinforced, hereinafter relerved to as the "conductora', to be used mainly for overhead tranamlssion lines, overhend distribution nes and feeder messenger wires. Remark: In this staudard, the untts and aumerteal values In{ —j are in accordance with the Internattonal System of Units (SD aud given for reference only, Symbol The symbol for the conductors shall be ACSR. Applicable Standards JW C 3002Testing Methods of Electrical Copper and Aluminfum Wires JIS C 3108-Hard-Drawn Aluminium Wires for Electric Purposes JIS G 3506-High Carbon Steel Wire Rods a JS H 9401-Methods of Test for Zino Coating (Hot-Dipped) on Iron or Steot 2 2 9110-1978 3. Characteristics ‘The characteristics of the conductors shall be as shown in Attached Table. 4. Dimeneions The dimensions of the conductors shall be expressed by the nominal sectional area and the composition of the conductors stall conform to Attached Table. 5. Appearance The conductors shall be smooth on the surface and free from flaws, rust, g of stranding and other harmful defects for practical use. 6, Matorialg ond Manufscturing Methods ds ° Wires The element wires shall be of 2 kinds; hard-drawn {res and galvanized steel wires. 6.1 Ele! aluminium (@) Hard-drawn aluminiom wires The hard-drawa aluminium wires before atranding shall conform to JIS C 3108 @) Galvanized steel wires ‘The gaivanized vtvel wires before stranding shall be those galvanized on steel wires which are drawn from the material complying with JIS G 3508, The galvanizing shall be made either by hotedipping or by electropleting. The wires shall be tree from flaws, rust, splits or bubbles and other harmful defects for prac- teal use. The dime d characteristivs of the wires before steanding shall be as shown in Table 1, © 3110-1978 -gso/ grb se ume st Ane OL “E ssiopureyp paspavis oa) 40 ony prot aytsum pre seen “ade YoUCHOS Jo soNTEA IRL “t “Qe0e 1 S90q) OaE 9IqEL MF sonqea ay. “1 SwMCY corm {Steet} over | sore on collec ore | ot) ane 91 1 |z0-07 | se “Urat oy eae ce payamd jo juawdojaaap ON aadey AnTyHOD AYL MO a 8 vous | reson | Sapa | Graaor | sseur Sane09 | eoue es pom | 4 1S 9110-1978 6.2 Lay The conductor shtll be made by unfform and close stranding of the hard-drawa aluminium wires specified in 8.1 (1) concentrically onto the stranded galvanized steel wire specified in 6.1 (2) of composition given in Attached Table. The direction of lay shall be reversed in succesatve layers with S lay in the outermost layer. ‘The lay ratio shall be 20 to 40 times the pitch diameter for the galvanized steel wire and shall be not more than 20 times the pitch diameter for the outermost and intermediate layers of the bard-drawn akiminium wires. 6.2 Joint in Element Wires Joint in clement wires shall conform to the following: (1) Galvanized Steel Wires: ‘The galvanized stool wires shall have no joint throughout the whole length of the conductor: (2) Hard-Drawn Aluminium Wires: Each hird-drayn alumiaium wire may have on'y one joint, butt-welded or cold pressure welded during the stranding process, within the whole length of the conductor. The number of joints in each layer shall not be more than ave per 15 m length of the conductor 7. Test Methods el Wires 7.1 Galvani 7.1.1 Appearance Test, The appearance tast of the gilvatzed steel wires shall be performed In accordance with the method of 3, specified in JIS C 3002. 7.1.2 Dimension Tes ‘The dimension test of the galvanized steel wires shall be performed in aci dance with the method of 4, specified ia JIS C 3002, 7.1.3 Tests of Tensile Sireagth and Elongation The tests of tensile strength and elongation shall be performed in accordance with the method of 3. specified tn JIS C 400! 7.14 Twist Test For the twist test, take # tet piece from one end of the sample, grip I firmly at an interval of approx. 100 times the wire diameter, twist It at the rate of approx. 60 times per minute while keeping It Just taut until the wire fractures, and wote the aumber of twists. Provided that, when the gripping distance 19 different due to the mechanical reasons, the number of twist shall be carrected in proportion to the gripping distance 7.1.5 Coating Mage Test. The coating mags test of the galvanized steel wires shali be verformed in Accordance with the method of 3,2 spectfied in JIS H 0401. 7.1.6 Uniformity Test The uniformity test of the galvanized steol wires shall he performed In accordance with the method of 4.1 specified in JIS H 0401. J CONTROLLE i COPY 5 © 3110-1978 7.1.7 Winding Test In the winding teat of the galvanized steel wires, the test piece shall be wound tightly 6 turns around « cylinder having a diameter 15 times the standard diameter of the wire for hot-dipped wire and § times for electroplated wire. The appearance of coated layer shall be examined. 7.2 Conductors 7.2.1 Appearance Test The appearance test of the conductors shall be performed In accordance with the method of 3. specified in Jis C 3002. 7.2.2 Construction Test ‘The covstruction test of the conductors ehall be performed in accordance with the method of 4. specified in JIS C 3002. 7.2.3 Tensile Load Test The tensite [oad tost of the conductors shall be in accordance with the metho of 5. specified in JIS C 3002.
