Final Destination Intro: Salaam, jzk for coming Q1. Can anyone guess what today's talk is about? Today's talk is on the topic of death, anyone who's watched final destination will know that! Q2. So what is final destination telling us about death? What message do you take from it? - Cannot cheat death - Death will be painful This is true to say, yet we watch such movies esp this time of year loads of horror films come out yet what do we really understand about death. Do u think about death often? Do movies like FD make u think about death? Tbh they do, who doesn't like watching scary films like saw, fd or Texas chainsaw massacre? However once movie has finished that discomfort or anxiety slowly disappears as we r still part of the living, still in this dunya. Whether youre Muslim or non Muslim alike watch such films and have same reaction, watching it for thrills as death is truly most scary thing in life. However we are happy that it is only a film and not real life.

Interactive 1: DROP DEAD! Let's look at reality, can 8 people pls stand up (8 stand) wer gonna play Simon says, so Simon says...lift ur rigt hand...stand on one leg... Now drop dead! (8 drop on floor n stay there)

FACT: Every minute 8 teens drop dead. (Maybe repeat act of dropping dead to emphasis the point that this happens every minute) Now everyone has an appointed time in this world and we do not know when it will be up. Minute by minute it may be us next, theres no way of knowing who's next unlike in the movie where they think they know: Angel of death visits each and every one of us 72 times a day, asking Allah whether to take our life, at any one of these times the answer may be yes.

In one day that's nearly 3x in an hour, every 20mins! SubhanAllah Minute by minute, every step, every breath and every heartbeat is closer to the time the angel of death will take our soul from our body. This is the only certainty in life, only true fact. Everything in our lives lead up to the our death, nothing can stop it, no matter what age, race, amount of wealth we have or how many anti aging cream we use!

Q3. What does this mean to us? Should this have any impact on us? If so what kind of impact and why? Last time we discussed knowing who we are and what impacts us. In order for us to know who we are we must know where we are going. Where we start doesn't matter but where we will end up. e.g last to start race but first to finish. E.g Born non-Muslim but die as a Muslim. Death is not a secret, everyone knows its a fact yet we see that its little or no impact. As everyone knows they will die one day but they do not know what to do about it, and how they can prepare for it. It is something that they dont want to think about; when you're chilling with your mates its not the juicy convo they may want to hear. If you do they might think youre a goth or an emo. Everyone thinks about death, whether correctly or not, E.g. Goths who are obsessed with death or others say 'life's short so live life to the max!' but theres no point if you miss the point! BUT if you think about it death isn't something dark and gloomy or a killjoy death is more to do with life than it is about death! Thinking about death makes us who we are; it defines us and defines how we live.

The question of who we are cannot be answered without asking the question of where we will end up. Death is more about living that it is about dying. This fact will not impact us unless we stop and think about it. Allah did not give us life as an amusement but as a test, and given us help and guidance along the way. People can deny Allah but they cannot deny DEATH, we have no control in that we will die one day but we do control how on a daily basis we are going to live and the actions we undertake. Death- linking it and final destination to action. How are the actions we carry out everyday linked to where we will end up? From the very beginning of the end, when the soul is taken out. From when the angel of death come to us and we will see his face, what the angels face will look like is dependent on how we lived our life. How we adhered to Allahs

commands. The soul being ripped out of our body, the pain we will feel from every finger, every joint, every bone and muscle, from every nerve in our bodies, this difficulty will be in accordance to the actions we undertook in life. Everything we do, every action has a purpose, a goal. In class theres always an objective to the lesson. Life wouldnt be a test without something to mark it against and something to attain at the end. Example 1: STUDY When we go to school, attend our classes or lectures, we do it because we know it part of something, its necessary to past our exams. When we have homework, coursework to do, even though its takes up our time we still do it, we know why. Even if it means staying up to get it done. Spending our time, not watching tv, not chatting to mates or seeing them on the weekend cos we have to finish our coursework. We are willing to give up these things in order to do what is necessary to achieve our goal, our gsces, a-level, degree. If we get a bad mark or fail a unit, do you just give up or continue working harder to pass the next exam or do a resit. If we know what our goal is then were determined to get there no matter what.

Example 2: WORK waking up every day, getting into work on time. Looking for a job, from searching online to filling in endless application forms, to going to interviews to going into work on time every day, waking up early to do so. All of these actions are done for a reason, which is the goal of our efforts to get paid, to buy clothes, to eat, hang with mates, and buy a car. Even though its a long and difficult process, willing to carry on to get the goal. Example 3: EXERCISE: Diets trying to lose weight, we link everything we eat to losing or gaining weight, same way link actions to jannah or jahannam. Stay away from fatty foods and try to exercise weight (sins) we have put on. If this end goal is worth it then we are willing to go through difficulties in getting there. Even when its difficult or we have slipped up we dont give up. Instead we carry on regardless to goal. If this goal is jannah then we have to think about our actions. Each action has a consequence and the final consequence is death...but it is not the final destination!

Interactive 2: PRESENTS 4 Iv brought u all some gifts, Take one only so choose carefully. Jzk Now open ur gifts... SO now what did u find? The nicely wrapped gifts contain charcoal whereas presents wrapped in newspaper have nice gift inside. The Messenger of Allah, (saw) who said, "Paradise is surrounded by hardship and the Hellfire is surround by wishes and desires". [Sahih al-Jami] Once we are dead there is no coming back only what awaits, either jannah or jahannam. Interactive 3: TOOTHPASTE
Squeeze toothpaste out, is there any way of getting it back in? Every day of our lives, we use a little bit of toothpaste, which we will never get back, once its gone we will never get back. Next time we brush our teeth think of of what it represents, our life being squeezed out of us.

Nothing in life is worse than regret.
