Anubu sat by herself atop a cracked stomp, her hands clasped together across her

knees, which were drabbed in heavy drapery that she'd decidedly put back on once
the battle had concluded. She gazed out into the darkness, settling on a pair of
dazzling green lights that flickered and weaved through bushes and trees. There was
nothing particularly special about the little fireflies, merely a soothing, pretty
direction for the young Yuan-ti as she let her mind wander and creep - today's
interactions having drained her of her energy.

Still, she stared at the dancing lights. The only indication that she'd heard him
was a soft melodious hum from behind her mask. Her thoughts rushed like a river,
swarming and eating away the riverbanks of her consciousness. It left little room
for the male to comfortably occupy.

It was that of a creeping sensation across her hand that awoke her from her trance.
Making her naturally respond with a lofty turn of her head. Anubu eyed the spirited
creature as it debarked from the curve of her tattooed fingers to her scaly wrist,
its spindly legs ticking her flesh. Gently, she'll redirect the little arachnid
with her fingers, returning it to the forest floor.

"It was." She agreed, now turning to look at the tiefling. Remembering the injuries
he'd amassed, she'll lean forward, studying him closely. "How does your body fare?"

"It hurts only a little if I move too fast," she explained, adjusting herself atop
the stomp to face him fully as she leaned ever closer," Can I see where you got
hurt?" It was an innocent question, Intrigued about whether or not his healing left
any scars.

Realizing to late what he was doing. She felt her heart in her throat, letting out
a squeal of surprise. Her hands lurch to her colorful hood, pulling it over her
eyes. "T-that’s not what I asked!" She sputtered out, forgetting the question she’d
asked

"What if I were to say that I didn’t expect you to take off your entire shirt?" She
meekly mumbled, her hands clinging to the fabric over her face as her head was
slightly bowed.

"Y-yes, put your shirt back on. Please; "Anubu's voice trembled slightly as she
mentally chided herself, continuing to hide her face And o-oh, I know you like it…
I’m sure you’re thinking about other things too.” She chastises, attempting to
cover up her bashful behavior by sounding angry.

Trusting his word, Anubu looked up, "Thank,-" and with zero hesitation, the Yuan-ti
reflexivity punched the Tiefling, startled -" DAMMIT! ZAKIR!"

"What? Did you expect me to freeze?" Her hissing growing more visible as she spoke,
her temper rising.

At his apology, the yuan-ti began to calm down. "You’re…forgiven…I’m sorry for
punching you. I didn’t hurt you, right?" Her anger dissipated as concern crept into
her voice.

"That's a fair point." Having calmed down completely now, she held out her hand for
him to grab. Remembering that she could observe one of the wounds on his arm ."I
want to look at the one on your arm."

Intrigued by the images that decorated his skin, she traced those first. However,
her interest began to interest dissipated, noticing the familiar raised bumps of
knotted scars being used to create the images, thus hiding them. "Are you ashamed?"
Her tracing didn't cease, but it grew slower as she became entranced by the enigma
that was hidden underneath. (edited)

Her tracing didn't cease, but it grew slower as she became entranced by the enigma

"Those who've fought do not try to hide their scars unless they've been shamed into
doing so...whether that was indirectly or directly stated." She muttered, turning
his arm over and repeating her previous action. "But...of course, that's not
inclusive to everyone, including yourself. I think that's a beautiful way to look
at things, changing their meaning to your own."

A soft chuckle left her," Ah, you remind me of a knight. Except you're less scary
and domineering than they are.

Tracing the last design, Anubu would draw her hand back. Switching her gaze to the
wound she originally was there to look at. "What's wrong with your race?" She
didn't touch the wound, given its state, her thoughts drifted to wanting to put
some healing salve on it and wrapping the wound.

She stopped, turning her head to look at him. "Tiefling?" Her tone was quizzical.
Intrigued by the new information that was presented, her hands left his arm
completely and gripped the edge of the stump beneath as she leaned forward -
practically pushing her face into his to look at his eyes more closely.

With her face so close, it wasn't difficult to make out her eyes from under her
hood. Yet, the color remained murky, hidden by shadows. The best he could make out
were that they were yellow. "You’re eyes are uniquely charming." She mumbled, her
tone punctuated as if what she said was less than a compliment and more of a
statement. After admiring his eyes a little bit longer, she pulled back with a
satisfied hum - only to pause when she noticed the slight blush on his cheeks.

“Ah, I’m sorry. It’s sometimes difficult to see in the mask I’m wearing. I wanted
to look at your eyes as those tend to be most telling."

"That you were a Tiefling." She settled back on the stump, her knees against her
chest.
