State Governors
Part VI deals with the state Governments, Art 153 to 167 deals with state executives, State executives consist of
governors, the chief minister, the council of ministers, and the advocate generals, the governor- agent of the central
government,
Appointed of Governor:-
Appointed by president by warrant nominated by Central Government, 35 years of age, must not be appointed in
same state where he blong to, president need to consult CM of the state before appointing Governor, oath given by
the chief justice of the state high court,
Term of Governor’s office:-
5 years terms, resignation to president,
Powers and functions of Governors:-
Executive function:-
Legislative function:- summon state legislature and dissolve the same, address first session after election and first
session of each year, appoints 1/6 th memebrs to state legislative council, one member nomination from state anglo
indian community,
