the gear unit. 4. Components
The oil heater is controlled by a thermostat. The 4.1 Standard equipment
thermostat must be set so that it switches the oil 2102 Pump

3. Monitoring and maintenance

3.1 Monitoring the lubrication system
The gear unit is sufficiently lubricated when the
lubrication pressure in a running temperature is
80…250 kPa (0.8…2.5 bar), measured with the
pressure cauge POS 2421. The oil pressure is
determined by the design of the pipes and operating
conditions.
Pressure switch (pos. 9), switches on when the oil
pressure has risen to 70 kPa (0.7 bar / 10 psi), and
switches off when the pressure drops below 50 kPa
(0.5 bar / 7.2 psi).

3.2 Controlling the filter

Filter contamination indicator (pos. 9 or 13) alarms
when the pressure-differ in the filter rises to 100 kPa
(1.0 bar / 14.5 psi).
• The red knob of the visual contamination indicator
(pos. 9) bounds up when the filter is
contaminated. After changing the filter cartridge
the knob returns back to its original position.
• The line of the electrical contamination indicator
(pos 13, special equipment) N.C (normally closed)
is not active, and N.O (normally open) is active,
when the filter is contaminated. Picture 2. MHP_/A_/FF_/IA flow chart.
In the case of a clogged filter, the by-pass valve on
the filter will open at pressure-differ 160 kPa (1.6 bar
/ 23.5 psi). The oil flow will partially bypass the filter
