Memories Unbound

In the corners of my mind, they gently fade,

The memories, like whispers in a distant glade.
I miss the moments, the laughter and the strife,
But not the people who colored my life.

The days we shared, both cloudy and bright,

Are like chapters in a book, taking flight.
I miss the stories, the tales we wove,
But not the people I once dearly loved.

The places we wandered, hand in hand,

Across the shores of an endless sand,
I miss the scenery, the adventures untold,
But not the people, as the years unfold.

For people may come and then depart,

But memories linger, etched in the heart.
I miss the feelings, the emotions we'd share,
But not the people, for they're always there.
In the tapestry of life, they've left their trace,
In the smiles, the tears, the warm embrace.
I miss the moments, the bonds that were once strong,
But not the people, for they still belong.

So as the memories slowly drift away,

I'll hold them close, come what may.
I miss the past, the stories it weaves,
But not the people, in whom my heart believes.
