Lord of the Flies Study Questions

Chapter 1.
1.
Ralph: Ralph is the athletic, elected the leader of the boys on the island but only for a little
while, Ralph is the oldest and short tempered in many thing this is shown when he gets
frustrated at jacks tribe for letting the fire go out. .
Piggy
- Piggy is the overweight kid who is bullied about it and has poor eyesight. He has weight
problem, and asthma. He is the most intelligent and mature out of the group who always
want to make it right for everyone to be okay.
Jack: jack also one of the oldest of the boys is the antagonist of the play because of his bad
behaviour on the rest of the group as he had killed two of the boys as well as the pig. And
nearly ralph who was saved by the army.
Chapter 2.
3.- Piggy is the most intelligent boy in the group. His glasses represent his weakness as it’s
something that he can’t live without as well how they use them to focus the sunlight and start
a fire.
Chapter 3:
3.)Ralph offends Jack which cause for jack to try and explain what he was doing which was
catching and killing a pig whilst the rest of the boys were swimming and playing.
Chapter 4:
3.) the hunters of the novel painted their faces with clay and charcoal which would make
them look as well as feel as powerful and strong by going out and killing the pig.
Chapter 5:
1.) Ralph changes after the fire incident because it was due to that he had given orders to
jacks hunters as well as him. Ralphs values changed which caused him to be constantly
frustrated and angry that no one had been following the rules that were set at the start when
the plane crashed.

Chapter 6:
5.) Eric and Sam both believe that they had seen the beast whilst ralph never thought that
there even was one this is because he thought that there was nobody in the island and that
there was no chance that there was going to be a monster.
Chapter 7:
2.) Simon and Ralph are both sitting on the mountain cliff looking at the ocean and are both
talking to each other when Simon tells Ralph "You'll get back alright," he says which made
him smile.
Chapter 8:
2.) Piggy shows intellectual daring
Chapter 9:
1.) Jack as a hunter has the power he has always wanted because at the start of the book
Ralph was chosen over him but was then called in for another vote and was elected as the
new leader and started to hunt with his tribe.
Chapter 10:
4.) Roger becomes to have doubt on Jacks leadership when Robert tells him that he Wilfred
tied up for a long time and is ready for him to be beaten up
Chapter 11:
3.) Roger pushes the rock of the cliff because trying to impress jack just mildness violence.
Chapter 12:
2.) after Ralph hides from Jacks tribe from then trying to kill him. Whilst hiding away from
them he stumbles upon the pig’s head and punches it in the head.
