FERDINAND PORSCHE
HE WAS AN AUSTRIAN ENGINEER,
FOUNDER AND DESIGNER OF THE
GERMAN PORSCHE AUTOMOTIVE
RESEARCH OFFICE. HE WAS THE
CREATOR OF THE FAMOUS
VOLKSWAGEN TYPE ONE BEETLE.
FERDINAND PORSCHE AND HIS SON
FERDINAND ANTON, KNOWN AS
FERRY PORSCHE, CREATED THE
AUTOMOBILE FIRM PORSCHE AG IN
1931.

Porsche left its mark on Mercedes-Benz


for the entire history, as it was in
charge of the design of the
magnificent Mercedes-Benz S, SS and
SSK. After a brief stint at Steyr, on
April 23 he created his engineering
office. In the year 1938, the war was
about to start, which prevented the
mass production of the Beetle. During
World War II Porsche worked on the
design of different tanks such as the
Tiger, Panzer Maus, the all-terrain Back to

version of the Volkswagen among
others.

After the war Ferdinand Porsche, along


with his son Ferry and his son-in-law
Anton, were imprisoned in Dijon, France,
for having produced military for the
Nazis. Ferry was soon released from the
sentence, but Ferdinand and Piëch were
imprisoned for 22 months. During that
confinement, he was forced to work on
designs for Renault, from which the
future 4CV model would come out. Upon
his release, he was able to evaluate the
first vehicles designed under the
direction of his son "Ferry" Porsche,
the first to use the Porsche name. After
an exhaustive review of the Porsche 356, Back to

the Professor stated that he "wouldn't
change a nut or bolt."
HE DIED ON JANUARY 30, 1951 IN
STUTTGART, THE PRODUCT OF A
STROKE, AT THE END OF 1950,
FROM WHICH HE WOULD NOT
RECOVER. HE WAS BURIED UNDER
THE ROMAN CATHOLIC RITE IN THE
PRIVATE CHAPEL OF THE PORSCHE
FAMILY
