PART 1. INTRODUCTION
Nowadays, translation plays a very important role in life. With the trend of
international integration, translation is more popular. However, the study and

practice of translation is quite difficult and difficult. Especially when translating
literature, stories, novels etc. Besides good quality translations, there are also poor
translations, many errors and lack of expertise.
According to JC Catford, translation is the replacement of textual in one language
so-called source language by equivalent textual material in another language called
target language. Translation is not only a mere linguistic substitution but also an
attempt to convey the original meaning of the original text intact.
Translators are required to have knowledge in a variety of areas in translation.
Before the translator can translate and interpret a message, he or she must
understand the total meaning of the message within its own cultural context.
Hence, the course of translation will need addtional studies of subject areas like
political, science etc. He or she also need to learn how words communicate, syntax
and meaning.

1. Translation

nhất trên bảng FIFA tháng 4. Trước đó, ở
tháng 2, Việt Nam cũng bị trừ nhiều điểm
nhất (41 điểm), dẫn đến tụt 11 bậc xuống
thứ 105, khép lại 1.905 ngày liên tiếp đứng
trong top 100 kể từ 29/11/2018 và 2.248

Với vị trí 115, Việt Nam sẽ lần đầu rơi
khỏi top 110 FIFA, từ tháng 3/2018. Đây
cũng là vị trí thấp nhất của Việt Nam sau

To conclude, no one can deny the importance of translation, particularly in
Vietnam-English translation. Thanks to many linguistics studies, people can
understand each other more in the modern world in many different areas.
Translation is both an art and a science. It is an art in the sense that it is performed
by human beings who are creative. It is a science in the sense that it is a process
going through different stages: analysis, transfer and restructuring so learning
translation is a must for translators.
