Postdoctoral Research associate – Physical Metallurgy and Advanced processing

The Position:
We are seeking a highly motivated postdoctoral associate to join our research team. The focus of this
position will be on additive manufacturing (AM) of various metallic materials. The successful
candidate will work closely with our interdisciplinary team to investigate the fundamental mechanisms
governing the processing-microstructure-properties relationships in AM. This position offers a unique
opportunity to gain hands-on experience in cutting-edge AM technologies and interact with leading
industry partners like Safran, General Motors, Concept Laser and General Electric. Join us in

Qualifications:

• A PhD in Materials Science, Physics, Chemistry, or a related field completed

• Demonstrated hands-on experimental work experience
• An excellent record of productive and creative research demonstrated by publications in
peer-reviewed journals
• Excellent written and oral communication skills and the ability to communicate in English to
an international scientific audience
• Strong metallurgy background
• Experience with SEM, TEM, and XRD equipment and related analysis
• Experience with mechanical testing
• Experience with alloy development, analysis of phase equilibria and transformation pathway
