To Matan Poznansky and Family:

On behalf of the citizens of Rochester, I extend my deepest condolences on the passing of your
beloved mother, Debbie. I pray that God will comfort you and your family during this difficult time.

I was saddened to hear about Debbie’s sudden passing. She was a lovely woman who clearly
means so much to you, your siblings, and her husband, Itzik Poznansky. I hope you and your
family are able to hold on tightly to the beautiful memories you have with your mother and bask in
the unconditional love you all have for her.

It is a true honor to hear how much the city of Rochester meant to Debbie. I was thrilled to learn
that even after her move to Israel in 1981, she continued to visit Rochester annually, creating a
wonderful family tradition. As you shared with me, some of her favorite places to visit while in
Rochester were the Lilac Festival and Parkleigh. I am so happy these places brought her immense
joy that she was able to enjoy with you.

Debbie held her deep connection to our city throughout her life, and I know you will all continue to
carry out her legacy each time you return. You have already done so, with your symbolic tattoo of
lilacs, representing your mother’s great affection for the flower of her native city. Be assured that
her presence in Rochester will be deeply missed.

You expressed that Debbie was the pillar of your family, constantly offering love, guidance, and
support to you all. May you all find comfort and strength through your memories with her. Please
know that I am keeping you and your family in my prayers.

Sincerely,

Malik D. Evans
