Upgrade Procedure

The upgrade procedure is for Version 3.0f to Version 3.0g. The

particular details of this upgrade can be reviewed in the release.txt
file in the Flowel folder after Flowel has been installed.

Before starting, please review the following points:

The upgrade has been designed for a standard installation of
Flowel 3.0g. If you require customized modifications to the
Flowel setup, please contact Kenonic Controls before starting your
upgrade.

• Flowel 3.0g is a 32-bit application, so it will not support any

16-bit operating systems. (i.e. Windows 3.1)
• When upgrading a network copy of Flowel, you will be required
to upgrade the server first and then all of the workstations.
• Stop running all copies of the Flowel program. You will be
unable to upgrade to Flowel 3.0g if Flowel 3.0f is running.
• Backup/Copy your database. The name of the Flowel Database
is Flowel.db. This file should be in your Flowel folder on the
server. Please contact Kenonic Controls if Flowel.db is not in
the Flowel folder. The upgrade will make another backup of
your database called Floweldb.bak.
• Backup/Copy all old Flowel databases created or named with
an extension other than db.
• After upgrading to Flowel 3.0g, you will not be able to use
Flowel 3.0f.
• You will not need to get a new site code.
Upgrade Installation
Follow the “Basic Installation Procedure,” p. 7. For best results,
install Flowel 3.0g in the same folder as Flowel 3.0f.
