ryVa es eas NEWSLETTER #183 - 2015-2016 ras THE XAVIER GAMEDAY SCHEDULE We have received several requests for a breakdown of our gameday schedule in terms of warming up, artiving at the arena and so on. Our gameday has always been an important focus for us. We believe it is important for guys to develop a routine and embrace it! Below is a quick overview of that schedule. The time shown in bold is the number of minutes until tipoff. 120:00: Managers available in locker room. 90:00: Must arrive to arena, DTR (dressed, taped, and ready) warm-up protocol to be followed (veterans last - freshmen first). Free shooting in main arena. Assistant coaches on benches, no horse play. Scout coach in locker room preparing boardwork 62:00: Everyone must be dressed, taped, ready (DTR) 60:00: Everyone at lockers, DTR, focused on scout coach. + Soout coach has board work (game plan, scouting review) 45:00: Stretch as team in weight room or locker room. 31:00: Quick huddle in locker room. 30:00: Team takes floor and begins executed pre game warm-up routine. Team split runs to half court, down, middle, to lane 29:00: 4 corer passing (4 basketballs) Everyone talks (BIG chatter) Assistant coach yells "change" to signal a reverse in the passing direction. 28:00: 2 line lay-ups (2 basketballs) -Outlet man to start on lay-up side comer -Sharp passes. No jumpshots, go hard into lay-ups SWITCH sides at 26:30 25:00 Post/Perimeter breakdown Posts: Partner passing near haif-court, ball handling Perimeter: Outscreen shooting (work curls, bump backs) * Both sides, stagger lines (Walk-ons passing) SWITCH at 23:00 Perimeter: Ball handling (glide dribble) or Partner passing Posts: Backscreen shooting (4, 5 man rules) + Both sides, stagger lines (Walk-ons cutting) 20:00 Post Progression. Walk-ons serve as defenders 16:00: Free shooting / Free Throws 12:00: Quick team huddle / Team departs to locker room 11:00: Coach Mack talks to team, team prayer. (Be strong) ae ee oe -Coach gets into each player (baseline start) peed -Down the floor using dominant hand. (Strong side drive) -Back up the floor using "weak" hand. (Weak side drive) -Always reverse pivot (180 degrees) at baseline finish -Anytime a player stride stops R-L, re-establish pivot before starting 1) Down with strong side drive and stride stopping (LR) at free throw line, half-court, free throw line, baseline. 2) Back with weak side drive and stride stopping (RL) at free throw line, half-court, free throw line, baseline. 3) Down with strong side drive, stride stopping (LR) before two 180 degrees pivots. Same stopping intervals. 4) Down with weak side drive, stride stopping (R-L) before two 180 degrees pivots. Same stopping intervals. 5) Partner passing using stride stop on catch. Catcher sprinting to get even with passer. Catcher does two 180 pivots. Passer then walks to gather correct timing. (L-R) 6) Partners switch sides so that they are stride stopping with opposite 1-2 step. 7) Dribble move using inside out dribble into stride stop.
