Despite our best efforts we could achieve coverage of only about one third of the population. It is a matter of national shame that there are an estimated 626 million people in our country defecating in the open and this constitutes nearly 60% of those practicing open defecation in the entire worid. On the other hand, this Ministry is committed to naving indie ODF by 2022, but at the rate the NBA is progressing. this achievement ld require a lot of effort and all efforts from all quarters have to be combined. 2 _ ‘© order to facilitate the companies to undertake project in the Drinking Water and Sanitation sector, this Ministry has formulated guidelines for setting up projects under Sanitation sector and identified 33 NGO /Social Organisation of National and International repute for implementation of the CSR projects in the field of Water and Sanitation The impaneled NGO /Social Organisation will be worked on behalf of CPSUs for implementing the CSR projects.
