IMMANUEL KANT

 Immanuel Kant, a German philosopher (1724-1804), greatly influenced philosophy with his ideas
on knowledge, ethics, and aesthetics, particularly through Kantianism and idealism. Kant began
his philosophical journey at a young age, studying at the University of Königsberg. Despite initial
financial challenges, he worked as a tutor before securing a teaching position. His disciplined
lifestyle and social interactions shaped his academic career. He became a renowned
philosopher, publishing influential works like the Critique of Pure Reason at age 57, which
solidified his legacy in philosophy.
 He suggested that the human mind shapes how we experience the world. Kant argues that since
our minds shape our experiences, we're limited to knowing only what we can observe and
measure in space and time.
 Kant's most renowned idea is the categorical imperative, emphasizing an individual's absolute
moral obligation regardless of desires or circumstances. These imperatives are universal moral
laws binding everyone. One crucial principle is the universalizability principle, which states: "act
only in accordance with that maxim through which you can at the same time will that it become
a universal law." In simpler terms, this means if you do something, then everyone else should
also be able to do it. This aligns with the idea of treating others as you'd like to be treated.
 Discovering Kant's ethics urges us to understand our motives, prioritize fairness, and treat
others as we want to be treated, fostering personal growth and a more just society.
